let's talk about brothers

When we were younger, I hated my little brother. All he ever did was push my buttons and piss me off. We used to get into fist fights. We've broken each other's teeth and noses before. And he always took the easy way out of things. If we were working on something together, he'd make me do the hardest jobs and go piddle around while I did all the work. He never took anything seriously.

When I got old enough to move out of my parents house, I jumped on that opportunity. I wanted to get as far away from him as I could.

After I was away for about a year, we started to kinda get along. We didn't fight anywhere near as much but we still bickered.

Then I left for college. After spending more time away from each other, we actually got closer as brothers. When I came home from college this summer, he ran away and joined the Army National Guard. You know, as much of an ass as he was to me when I was younger, I really miss my stupid brother. He calls me on the phone when the drill sergeants let him. After being away, I think we both got much closer as brothers.

After he's finished with AIT, he's moving to the same town as me and we'll be going to the same college. Not that we'll see each other during school. He's a physical training major and I'man accounting major. He's also only got about 40 hours. I'm going to have 112 by the time he gets up here. But he's really excited to move here and hang out.

I'm gonna say that when they're younger, your brother will do everything that will annoy or upset you. But when you get older, you might realize that your brother is your best friend. I didn't realize how much I'd miss my brother until I never got to hang out with him.

I refuse to let go until you're impressed.
I refuse to let go until I'm depressed.

Not counting my three estranged half sisters (my biological dad got around), I grew up with two older half sisters and one full-blooded little sis...not that "bloodedness" is something I care about one way or the other, but others are mentioning it, so I might as well.

-My eldest sister is generally pretty chill - which is to be expected from a pothead - and we get along pretty well even though I only see her once every couple of weeks. She's probably the one I look up to the most, being the original source of my own sense of humor and just an overall inspiration.

-My other older sister and I have a rockier relationship. I don't hate her or anything, and we've always got along well enough, even though she's kind of a high-strung prima donna. But lately she's been giving me a ton of shit about being a brony, calling me "gay" and just about every other bit of ignorant nonsense you'd expect from someone who hasn't quite made it to the 21st century with the rest of us. We're not currently on bad terms, and it'll stay that way just as long as she keeps her mouth shut about my hobby. dry.png

-My little sis, simply put, is just awesome. We used to fight ALL the time when we were younger, but nowadays we're basically BFFs...as cheesy as that is to admit. I'm the first one she comes to when she's got a problem, and vice-versa. We constantly reference silly TV and movie quotes from when we were little, so we've got a ton of inside jokes between us. We also have a tendency to make hideous faces at each other, often making a contest out of it. She was the first to find out I was a brony and, despite some initial teasing, is very supportive about it and has even checked the show out for herself. She's positively awesome. smile.png

I am the youngest of 3 siblings (2 Brothers, 1 Sister)

- I've always been closest with my sister because she is the youngest second to me, and she usually was "the cool sister."

- My brother is kind of an ass, he has always been the one to pick on me and he alienated himself from the family , so I haven't spoken to him in about 3 years.

- My oldest brother is a lot older than me and he lives in Mississippi so I haven't been around him a lot, but he is still pretty cool.

I have an older brother, but most people think he's younger than me. He's high functioning autistic, and generally awesome, so long as he's not throwing his occasional fit. We haven't lived together for a couple of years now, and oddly, I seem to miss hanging out with him a lot.

My brother and I are fraternal twins (though I'm technically older). However, we really aren't alike at all. He's much more outgoing than I am, very popular, athletic, etc. He's alright, though. Most of the time we get along. He used to make fun of me liking video games so much, but not so much anymore, although I still am not completely comfortable playing any games he might consider "nerdy" or "childish" around him. He can also seem condescending at times but he's a pretty nice guy overall.

I also have a younger sister. She's 11, and a lot of times she can be very bratty and ungrateful, but she's also not a bad person, we get along for the most part.

It might be worth noting that, like the rest of my family, my siblings don't know that I'm a brony, nor do they know I'm agnostic. I'm pretty sure if I told either of them one or both of these things, I'd never hear the end of it.

Yeah I have a few siblings, my brother is not much younger then me. Only three years, he looks like me, but taller, bigger frame overall. I guess that's the only difference though. People often think we're twins, they never guess that my sister is my twin. lol We are a lot alike, both love cars and we just have a lot in common.

I have always pictured that we'll be cruising together, it will be awesome two nice looking cars just cruising.

I'm an only child, and it really sucks. :(

I've always wanted a sibling, either a brother or a sister, I wouldn't mind. Preferably younger. :(

Coming from an all male family who seems to be especially women-free with the exception of me and the fact that i'm a girl, I'm a pretty good resource for both sides of the same gender coin.

Whether you have a brother or sister, it really just matters to what you prefer wholly. Each are very annoying at some times, but have a very individual way of being annoying. :P

Boy siblings commonly tend to be very physical in negative terms. While we all grow up differently, and I did not say all, it is just very common for boys to get on your bad side from physical taunting. If you aren't ready to have gum thrown at you, or just a plain competitive tournament once in a while, wishing for a boy sibling to grow up with isn't for you. (Haha, I am not physical, so it's hard for me in this house...)

Girls are much more emotionally distressing. What girls lack in strength, they make up for words and emotion-driven habits. Girl siblings on negative terms tend to either want to taunt the older sibling, or disrespect the younger sibling. If you aren't ready to logically step in to bad terms and habits with sisters, then you probably shouldn't wish for one.

Neither one is really better, but both of 'em can be equally great to hang out with. Typically a guy to mess around with, and a girl to really talk too.

There is my average look and analysis on siblings.

My younger sister [18] and I are bestfriends. We both like the same TV shows and videos games, mostly and hang out all the time. We have soooo many inside jokes and don't often like going places without eachother. We argue sometimes and there are things about eachother we can't tolerate, so sometimes we need time apart but we have an overall excellent relationship.

Oh and we look and act very similar. lol There are theories we were supposed to be twins because we can practically read eachother's minds.

I am the eldest, and I have 2 siblings,

My younger brother is your  popular kid; smart, handsome, talented, and kind. He's also a pretty good gamer. He's a really good guy.  He's currently part of his college's acting troop, and he's dang good at it!

My younger sister is...EVIL O_O

E-V-I-L, I'm not just saying that as some childish fit, She is literally evil. She picks fights with anyone for no other reason than she's bored. She has made everyone of our maids cry!  She is the reason that people who work for our household eventually leave. She is nit picky, manipulative, and aggressive to anyone that doesn't follow her every whim, and she is extremely elitist and bigoted to the point that she openly insults people for their race or financial backgrounds. This isn't some immature child, She is one year younger than me and I'm turning 22 in about 2 weeks.

/end of rant -_-

I have two siblings. An older brother and a younger sister.

Im trying my hardest to seclude myself away from most people, my family included. I don't hate them per se... i just find a dislike to human contact in general. But it did put our relationship on strain.

They do try to talk to me and contact me once in a while, but I don't hurry to greet them as often as so.

I suppose it makes me a bad sibling, but i don't really care.

I have two younger siblings, 17 (to be 18) and 16. I'd say although it used to be a little more "rough" (more fighting), we've all matured so we're all pretty cool with each other. Not that things were ever "terrible"; we were just more immature back then, and that's expected among many siblings. There are worse (and better) cases than mine.

I am the proud big sister of my two little monkeys (or brothers, however you want to calll it) and even though I, sometimes, want to kill them and they me (literally) I love them an awefull lot

my family is kinda complicated, we all have something like ADHD, autism or dyslexia. I have ADHD and dyslexia, but this is not about me, it's about my little brothers.

my eldest little brother is 13 years old and he has autism and severe dyslexia. Because we are kinda the same age we've always been really close. We always used to play together and we still just hang out together all the time. but it's not all nice and sweet, because he has autism it's hard for me to understand him sometimes and he can be quite agressive. He has tried to kill me about two or three times now, luckily he isn't strong, he's really weak so I've always managed to survive. Luckily he's growing up too and he learns to handle his anger better, hopefully it won't happen again because it's always quite terrifying.

but over all I really love him, he's such a sweety most of the time.

and my youngest brother is 10 years old and he's literally a boys coppy of me, it's actually starting to get scary. He has ADHD and dyslexia just like me and just as much fantasy. we've always been quite close but that's a little more diffucult with him since he's a lot younger. But still, I love him a lot and I understand him really well. When I was younger I used to write my own little stories and play with dolls and play my own stories. he does the exact same, except his stories are not about princesses but about wars and robots and explosions ^_^  but still, it's quite scary. he even started telling his stories to the little kids at his school and the creepy thing is that I did that too, but I never told him that. That's scary right?!

but anyway, I love him a lot and I'm realy happy to be his sister.

I think that I'm really lucky with my little brothers because they aren't evil or mean or little shitheads and they most of the time listen to me really well when I babysit them :D

I have one brother, 27 years old. I've got to give him credit putting up with my being a tagalong for so many years. I can be a handful, like a ridiculously playful puppy, and this was especially the case when I was younger. But he put up with my nonsense, even when I adopted most of his interests and hobbies as my own, so I give him points for that. He also taught me a lot about art, like most of my family. So that's something else I'm grateful for.

I have one sibling, a younger brother. Used to fight as kids, now we get along like best friends. Heck, he was the first family member I told about wanting to transition and he was very supportive. He just wants me to be happy, whether I'm brother or sister. Yes, he and I still give each other mountains of shit. Plenty of insults being hurled at each other while we play video games. Got a fantastic relationship with my bro.

I am an only child. I used to have a few step brothers who made my life hell. I haven’t seen them since 2004.

having said that, I have a select few friends I see as brothers or sisters. Some are met through this site too.

I have an older half-brother if that counts. We rarely talk (by rarely, I mean I haven't said a word to him in years), but he's pretty cool I guess.

I have a sister 3 years older than me, and we're decently close. We talk once every month or two, so the only person I talk to more than her is my childhood friend. We used to do a lot of things together as children, but we just grew apart as I became more reclusive.

My bigger brother has always kinda hated me, made fun of me, and all that evil stuff. But the last couple of years, we have become friends and respect each other. I think he was just jealous at my artistic skills when I was little. I would be jealous of my artistic skills when I was little as well, since I suck at it today compared to when I was little. Basically I am better now than when I was little, but compared to others, the competition really takes off when you get older.

Anyways, my brother is living a normal life, having kids, and a crazy job. He is a perfect citizen to aim to become. (If you are into that normal stuff, I am not!)
