This I did not know... Neato :pinkie: ! And so much awesomeness! Just a reminder that I'm Presbyterian-Reformed. Basically, some form of Protestantism :P.

Yeah, I'm just not one to post in a lot of religious topics I guess... talking about religion on the internet can be tough lol. :derp:

Not gonna tell other people what to believe or not to believe though, as long as they mind the same with me. :rarity:

I've grown up in an Anglican household. Although I'm not a fanatic Christian, I guess you can still count me as a Christian.

Oh and fun fact: I'm lesbian. (or maybe bi-curious, I don't even know  :derp: )

I can't remember if I've posted in this thread, but I was born and raised Catholic, and currently attend a Four Square church where I'm currently in a fairly involved year long leadership program that ends in June or July(I think). I've also been a closet Brony since April, and I think a lot of the show's principles are fairly in line with the principles of my faith, and even recall lessons from episodes to help me as I walk out my journey of faith.

For example, as part of the program I'm in I volunteer to help lead a group for kids in grades 5-8, and have learned I have to be assertive in order to keep them in line, and while I want to be on good terms with the kids, I'm not acting in their best interests by denying them opportunities to spend time with God if I let them lose their focus, much like how Fluttershy learned that by giving in to the Breezies, she wasn't acting in their best interests. Actually, as a fairly reserved and introverted individual who is walking out a journey of faith outside my comfort zone, I relate fairly strongly to Fluttershy and how she has been learning to come out of her shell. It really is encouraging to see that a lot of Bronies are Christians, and I would be remiss if I didn't reveal that about myself.

I'm quite relaxed about my beliefs, I disagree with a lot of what Christians believe however I still believe Jesus is my Lord and savior so I'm Christian. I just have some "different" views to some

im a christian, but very laid back about it. as in, i believe in god and all that, but the rest? all these rules? no homosexuals? whos idea was this? if God truly spoke of this rule, then why does it feel wrong to hate them? becasue i believe it is. i will stand by my belief regardless of how many people may criticize me.

Act before you have the presence of mind to second-guess yourself. Then you rarely miss an opportunity.

Hecks yes!! I;m a baptist Jesus freak and proud of it!!! And woooooow this is an old topic. :blink:  But oh whale... In any case, I've had several tests of my faith and even considered evolution for a short while. But I was picked up from it and now I actually find meaning in life.  :)   I haven't gotten more than a few people to trust God, but that's god enough for me.

I am indeed a Catholic and watch MLP:FiM and enjoy it. While I don't consider myself a "brony" in the standard sense, I do follow and enjoy the show.

No, I do not find the show at all offensive or disagreeable to my Catholic faith. If anything, I find a lot of aspects of Catholicism and Christianity much more disagreeable, and I even consider myself a borderline agnostic. Nevertheless I regularly attend mass weekly, believe in Jesus, and respect and follow the Catholic teachings, just perhaps not the way some would prefer.

Remember just because you enjoy a show like MLP:FiM doesn't mean you're doing something sacrilege unless you feel it is. Catholicism, thankfully is open and accepting enough that its followers don't agree with. I can't speak for all faiths, but I certainly do speak for Catholicism when I say this.

Born-again Christian, raised Southern Baptist, going to an Assembly of God school, and attending a Free Methodist church. I attend the church since it's a Japanese church and because God has called me to work in Japan, so I want to get connected with the Japanese Christian community. I consider myself a Jesus nerd as I love philosophy and apologetics and theology; I am very concerned about and intrigued by the truth of God. If I know something of the Bible, then I will stick and live by it. And if I am proven wrong, then I will change. I do believe, though, that some things are more unclear and stand alongside Paul when he says that we shouldn't let our denominations divide us. We can agree to disagree - and there is room for us to be wrong on the details - because what matters is the core of the Gospel. The reason I'm here is to find some like-minded individuals with whom to speak about an array of topics- not all of my topics, for differing viewpoints can edify the debaters' viewpoints, but ones that require like-mindedness and then some fun ones ^^

To be honest, I'm surprised more of the fandom isn't comprised of religious bronies (of any faith, really.) Considering the show is big on morals, I would figure that those big on moral ambiguity would avoid it. Maybe since the morals are friendship lessons that are often good words of wisdom?

Lutheran here! I actually watch mlp after church sometimes in the library. I'm glad to see there are so many Christians but I love everyone on the fourms equally no matter what sex, religion, or sexual orientation!

I am reviving my Christian walk with my heavenly father and I strive to make glorifying him and reading his Word as my ultimate priority. It unfortunately seems like God does not want me to be a relationship right now, with which I am perfectly content. I didn't appreciate my singleness from the very beginning so I feel that God has brought me to this place once again as a another chance to use my singleness wisely and for his glory. As Paul says in Corinthians 7:8, "Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do."

So here I am now. I am a Christian who has failed God countless times. I am a Christian who will continue to fail God a billion more times. But I have a confidence in God that is like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever (Psalm 125:1). I trust in him to lead me onto the path that he feels is best for me. I know he has a plan for me. I know he has a plan for those who believe in him, no matter how flawed they are ... including my ex. I only want the best for her and I pray with all my heart, mind, and soul, that she may consider this as an opportunity to grow and mature more, to become the Godly woman that her heavenly father wants her to be. I know she is goodhearted and I pray that our friendship remains.

Below is pretty much what I was praying to God yesterday. I meant every single letter.

"Dear Lord, I pray that you may guide through these dark hours of mine and lead me towards the light of this seemingly endless tunnel. May I transcend from being lost and underground to feeling your ethereal light shine upon my face and your holy spirit flow through my hair. I know that this trial is only temporary -- the only thing that can reign eternally throughout the entirety of its existence is you, God. May I discover what it is that you ask of me and I pray with all of my heart that you reveal your plan to me. My ultimate questions for you this year are as follows: what exactly do you have planned for me and how do you want to use me to lead others to you? My resolution for this year is to try to figure out the answers to these questions. Overall, I pray that you may provide me with what YOU know is best for me. I trust in you and I know your will is better than my own. I can't ever thank you enough for the friends you have delivered into my life. In fact, every single person that I have met have all played a part in my spiritual growth and walk in life -- from all of my acquaintances to all of my enemies -- and I wish them the very best in their lives. I pray that you lead me onto a better path this year, lead others towards you if I can, and that I stay focused on resisting any temptations that come my way. I can never promise you that I will stop sinning but I pray that I may at least strive to become a little more like your son, Jesus Christ, each and every day. Let my imperfections serve as reminders of my humanity and freewill. I may not be able to strip myself of my human nature, not in this realm of existence, but regardless of how much I fail you, you still love me. You believe in me and you take care of me, for you are my father in heaven. You have an undying compassion for all of humanity which is indubitably your greatest creation. You are love, faith, hope, truth, happiness, and every other good attribute that exists. I wish to freely follow you Lord and adore you until the end of time. May this year be a year of spiritual reformation for me, may this year be the opportunity for my Christian character to grow, and may I finally use my spiritual gifts to reach out to others, show them friendship, and share with them the love that you wish for me to convey. In your holy name I pray ... amen!"

Unfortunately I feel that my relationship with God has been very damaged. I can't feel that I should worship him as much as I did before. God has simply taken away too much from me :(

First he pulled me away from my home, stripped me of most of my belongings, then took away my mother from me :( My mother of all people :( Throughout all this though I remained strong. I still had someone who loved me and cared about me....someone who would wait for me no matter how long it took for us to be together....

Unfortunately even that love and last bit of hope has been taken away from me as well :( I no longer have someone waiting for me, I don't have someone supporting me no matter what. I no longer have a future shoulder to cry on. If God wants me to be alone forever then I don't see how he loves me :( He took away my last bit of hope for a better life.....he took away my light at the end of the tunnel :(

I hope you're happy with my suffering Jesus...hopefully you can repair all that's wrong in my life soon enough, but if you want me to suffer for now as a trial, so be it -_- I originally thought that things were finally getting better for me.....but then just as quickly all that happiness was taken away

I just don't know what to do.....God help me :(

OBJECTION!

Pink Mist, you need to realize that to truly feel God's power, you must worship him in the good times and bad. He will bring you to peace, but you must BELIEVE he will.

There's plenty of us, bro! I even got into the fandom because the lessons learned in each episode sounded a lot like what I learned in Sunday School. For instance, "Feeling Pinkie Keen" reminded me of the Joseph story in the book of Genesis.

What kind of peace will I get? :( I have nothing to look forward to, only loneliness :(

, by no means do I wish to intend to dismiss your suffering, but perhaps God is giving you strength to endure. After all, God takes no pleasure in your suffering or in that of anyone else, even when it is so prolific in the world. Neither does Christ, who wept openly when he came to the tomb of his friend, Lazarus.

I realize the abandonment you must feel is overwhelming. I can only say that I've experienced in moments, maybe short periods, but not to the extent you've encountered. I thus don't feel it's my place to tell you to buck up and try to look for the silver lining, as if doing so will erase your problems. I will say, however, that you are not alone. And if you want, or whenever you may feel comfortable, you certainly have people to talk to here -- I being one of them.

@, For times as this when we are deeply suffering, God made the Lament Psalms:

Psalm 42
               1      As the deer pants for the water brooks,
         So my soul pants for You, O God.
               2      My soul thirsts for God, for the living God;
         When shall I come and appear before God?
               3      My tears have been my food day and night,
         While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
               4      These things I remember and I pour out my soul within me.
         For I used to go along with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God,
         With the voice of joy and thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival.

               5      Why are you in despair, O my soul?
         And why have you become disturbed within me?
         Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him
         For the help of His presence.
               6      O my God, my soul is in despair within me;
         Therefore I remember You from the land of the Jordan
         And the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.
               7      Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls;
         All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me.
               8      The LORD will command His loving kindness in the daytime;
         And His song will be with me in the night,
         A prayer to the God of my life.

               9      I will say to God my rock, “Why have You forgotten me?
         Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”
               10      As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries revile me,
         While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
               11      Why are you in despair, O my soul?
         And why have you become disturbed within me?
         Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him,
         The help of my countenance and my God.

I know there's a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees.
I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still receive your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?
