Seems I forgot to mention that the deer legendary looks wicked. And the bird one ain't too shaby, either. I'll probably get X, so long as the deer is actually it's mascot.

I used to love Arcanine...then I spent about a week or two EV training one, and did a bit of professional battling.

Got my butt handed to me using him T.T

Still one of the most charismatic Poké's out there, though ^_^

What nature was your Arcanine? Which stats did you train? Were it's IV's good? I almost always kick ass with my Arcanine. He's been nothing but a bro for me.

Is this official? Looks kind of like a hoax, unless it's really truly official. I AM A PATIENT NERDPERSON.

Seriously, is this GF-approved?

Oh, it's official alright. Stayed up 'til 4 in the morning to be one of the few thousands of people who watched the Pokemon Direct thing live. It's so surreal when these announcements happen. xD

As for GF-approved... what do you mean by that?

Some time ago, but I focuses on improving his already high stats - although for the love of me I cannot remember the nature, i think I was using the one that lowers SP ATK but raises ATK.

Yes, my IV's were excellent - before I even start EV training I usually spend 4 or so days breeding, and then EV training them to level  20 to see if their IVs were any good.

Despite his double-Ice weakness, it was always Dragonite for me, or Gengar. Sadly both with double-type-weaknesses but I pretty much never lost when in a 2V2 fight.

I had....SO MANY DRATINIS on Soulsilver. Boxes and Boxes of them, as I didn't release as I went.

Must just be the people we face, then. I've had an Arcanine in every game I could catch a Growlithe in, and I've trained a few for competitive battling as well, and as I said before, they rarely let me down.

I'm not a huge Pokémon fan, but I got really excited when I heard about X and Y. Hooray for 3D models! Sprites are great, but it's nice to see them trying something different.

...But, come on, those new starters just look weird.

You are almost certainly correct ^_^ Some friends of mine would often be choosing legendaries or Ubers, and yet I just couldn't get the same results out of them as I did with my OU's.

Agree...

While Fennekin wins in pure cuteness, Chespin has a very funny and unique design and still has that cute factor. A clear choice for me and being a grass type is a big plus. ^^

Yay, another Chespin fan. :D

We have to be careful of the sea of Fennekin fans though. :(

The horrible thing is. I have to get a new 3ds. I hope I have the money for this game when it comes out.

There has only ever been one grass starter I connected with, Torterra :( EarthQuake and Synthesis. Yes please.

There's a little part of me wishing there were more choices, even though I know that's unreasonable.

This would likely be the first time since Charmander that I would choose the fire starter, as I really don't like the looks of the other two :( I'm hoping it's amde up for by some awesome water Pokémon though - I would love to see a Leviathan Pokemon.

Same thing, really. "Official".

WELP I CHECKED

IT'S REAL

Which means it's time for me to fangirl over Chespin until I faint. I AM SO EXCITED! :D

Cel shading: yes

Red Baron: yes

Deerceus: yes

Starters: currently on the fence about all, awaiting release of evolution designs

A lot of "older" Pokemon were shown in the teaser.  I pose this question: was it simply to hold off on releasing other new designs, or was it because we're getting a melting pot of generational Pokemon a la DPPt?  I've thought of a valid argument for both possibilities (discussed w/ Jonke, actually).

Respectively, the arguments I've conceived are that it follows the previously established trend of new Pokemon in the regional Pokedex:  odd number gens get almost entirely new Pokemon in theirs, even number gens get a mix.  Trends have recently been broken en masse by Pokemon games, however.  By this token, perhaps the idea of BW being a parallel of Gen 1 is being furthered, with BW2 being the "2 years later" sequel to BW that GSC were to RBY.  Therefore, maybe XY are Gen 3 Part 2: Electric Boogaloo, which means mixed regional Pokedex (among other things, hint hint).

Of course, it's all meaningless speculation until we get confirmation one way or the other, which is shaping up to be soon with a mere gestational period until global release.

To eliminate any sense of mysteriousness from the "hint hint" thing, I'm implying RSE remakes on the 3DS due to FRLG coming right after RSE.  It can imply other things if you want it to.

Ah yes, so we are already at 6th gen eh? It felt like Black and White just came out. :P

I am beyond excited for this game, finally a 3D Pokemon game. Now it's time for all the rumors to start spreading saying "YOU CAN GO TO HOENN IN POST GAME!!!" Or, "YOU CAN FIGHT ALL OF THE PAST PROTAGONISTS" or some other stuff that sounds too good to be true. Then after we see all of the new Pokemon we will get the obligatory "these pokemons suk teh origanl 151 r teh bestst charizard ftw" posts. Speaking of which I should give my opinion on the few Pokemon we saw shouldn't I?

Well lets start with...well the starters.

Chespin looks ok-ish. Maybe it's because I'm not too big on the grass starters [unless it's Treecko] But it looks rather odd. Almost like a grass type version of Oshawott.

Fennekin is by far my favorite. First of all it's the fire starter which is usually the coolest one. Second it doesn't look like it'll evolve into Fire/Fighting in fact most people predict it will be Fire/Psychic. And finnaly it's SOOO cute!! It almost looks like a miniature Nintails. :D

Then there's Froakie. it seems fairly solid design wise I mean it's a frog so I guess it has that going for it. Also it's the water type starter and if I don't pick the fire starter I usually pick the water starter.

So overall I like the starters it'll be interesting to see what they evolve into.

Now the main attraction, the first thing you see on the box, the mascot legendaries.

Holy hell, the legendaries look cool, or at least the one for Y does. X is just a big metal deer with huge antlers. Anyway the Y legendary as I said looks REALLY freaking cool, it looks to be either Dark/Flying or Dark/Dragon. Even if Y has really bad version exclusives I'm getting Y just for that legendary.

That's it for my thoughts on this, other than saying that I really hope they keep all the good things 5th gen introduced and introduce new features that use the 3DS to it's full potential. Oh and seeing N again would be nice. Possibly along with Black/Hilbert because we never got to fight him in Black 2 and White 2.

I love the 3D effect, I've been wanting this for awhile, in fact, however I like the Pokemon less than I did the ones in Generation V. Maybe I'll get used to them like I did with V, but I really hope I'm not always disappointed with the appearances of new-generation-Pokemon. So, effects - Yes! Pokemon - Eh, no...

At least I (us) are getting new Pokemon and new battle styles, I suppose.

Not pixel art? MADNESS!

I really like the design actually. I really want to see what Absol looks like in it.

And finally, a good looking fire starter! I swear, other then Typhlosion, Charmander and it's evolutions are the only fire starters I like the looks of. So this is nice...

There's no need to worry♪, even though it has a type advantage, they'll be no match for Chespin! :)

I haven't been this hyped for a new Pokemon game since Diamond and Pearl. October can't come soon enough for me. I'm certainly pre-ordering them!

Until then, I still have Black 2 to finish, so I'm pretty content.

I admit I like the idea of a Pokemon battle that is Pokemon stadium style for a handheld. I also like the X&Y names because I predict the third will be Z. XYZ are the dementions to make a 3D object and I found this clever.

My only concern is the grass starter design, but I guess I'm just being picky.

Actually, I think the theme of the version names is dual in nature.

Yes, when speaking of 3D, there's the whole X/Y/Z axis thing going on.

But with the Japanese versions of the Pokemon Direct broadcasts, the title art actually shows DNA helix's.

I'm guessing the X and Y must also stand for the Chromosomes...

It's great to hear that they're finally bringing Pokemon to the 3DS, about time. I'm just hoping they replace those random Pokemon encounters with something less archaic this time around, so much time wasted on those.

Some additional information that wasn't mentioned in the trailer.

Reworking the battle system? Now they got me curious of what they'll change, hopefully for the better.

Real play? Playing with others from all across the world? So it's possible that co-op online play / local will be available which was also shown in the trailer around the 1 min mark.

Hopefully they'll explain this deeper soon.

I think the multiplayer thing sounds really cool. The 3DS features StreetPass and SpotPass, so the game will probably take advantage of both of them (And thank God too, the C-Gear system was annoying). I kinda figured there'd be more Pokemon--there always is.

The "battle system changes" are interesting. Not much has changed since D/P/P, so it'd be interesting to see what they plan on doing. Maybe a new level cap? Or maybe you can shout the moves into the microphone?

I've been waiting for a 3D Pokemon for a very long time and now it's finally coming. The only Pokemon game I played properly was Yellow when I was young and since then when I tired the newer games they just didn't interest me like the first time I ever played. I think  It's about time their making a Pokemon game on the 3DS as it's where Nintendo seems to slowly be pushing it's audience because I bought a console on day 1 but there's hardly been much titles that have interested me.

I'm actuality interested in this game and hopefully it will rekindle a long lost love for Pokemon that I had when I was little.
