music Skrillex or deadmau5?

Ok, so I love dubstep/house music and wanted to know what you guys prefer most. If you don't know who any of these musicians are be sure to check them out! So leave a post on which one you prefer and why. Thanks!

Deadmau5 isn't even a dubstep artist

And also Skrillex and mau5 are two completely different artists

 

Though out of the two it's for sure Deadmau5

He has much more knowledge, creativity and experience

With EDM than Skrillex does.

Also Deadmau5 has done some very experimental songs

That someone like Skrillex would never be able to do

Ya, there are many other good artists like zedd and all them! But good choice! I like skrillex the best. and my favorite song by him would have to be reptiles theme.

Anyway, I haven't really found anything by Deadmau5 that I like much, but there's a few pieces by Skrillex I don't mind. I could totally bob my head to Rock 'n' Roll. 

 

I do respect Deadmau5 as an artist, though. He clearly has a lot of talent.

But their main genres are:

Deadmau5 - Progressive House, Progressive Trance, Electro House and Experimental

Skrillex - Dubstep, Electro and House

Ya, rock n roll is ok but I did make a mistake in my post that deadmau5 isn't dubstep (thanks for pointing this out moog voyager!) but everybody has thier own opinions in music.

This isn't really my "area" of electronic music, so my knowledge is more limited in comparison to other areas. But, I agree, Skrillex's sound is more reminiscent of Electro/Electro House. But what they hey, stick a few wubs in your song these days and everyone calls it Dubstep.

I like some of Skrillex's songs but there are better artists out there.

And I only like a few of Deadau5's song's.

It's funny, because I'm not a dubstep fan, but once I found "Rock 'n Roll" on Just Dance 4, I've been hooked on that song.

Dude Skrillex is one person, not a whole band

Though doing scooter tricks to a nice Skrillex style growl bass

Ooooh this is my type of thing! I absolutely LOVE both Deadmau5 and Skrillex, and here's why, starting with Deadmau5: The first song i heard was "Some Chords" (off of his album, 4x4=12), and I instantly downloaded everything I could find by him. I started off with "Vanishing Point" (my favorite song of his by far) and I went on from there. I love the compression, 128 bpm, variation and overall composition of his beats, and the fact that he overpowers and then compresses his synth and bass-lines gives his mixes a very powerful yet beautiful sound. And he just doesn't do the same old thing, he has multiple styles of mixes. In comparison, "Not Exactly" and "Professional Greifers" sound completely different, the first being an overall trance and dance experience with a calm atmosphere to it, while the other is powerful and has an overall aggressive nature and atmosphere. This in mind, I personally believe this is the result of him sorting out feelings and thoughts while in the creative process, and therefor infusing a piece of his personality in each mix. I also like his very early work, Project 56 and Get Scraped. And now for Skrillex: His music is the most mindfreaking sound I have ever heard, and it's constantly getting better. I first heard "My Name Is Skrillex", and couldn't think afterwards. Of course I downloaded his stuff too, and my favorite song to date is "Roughneck Bass [Full Flex]. I love his electro-house roots and mixes, and the glitch sound. I can't get enough of it, it's not dubstep, it's not glitch, it's not electro-house. It's a nice combination of all three, and gives him a distinct sound compared to most artsists of those genres. I can't quite grasp the concept of how he does it, but it sounds amazing! And that concludes my input.

OT: I don't think I could decide since they're two different genres as I quite like them both.

 

Going artist wise, ill go with Deadmau5 over Skrillex.

The only thing I've ever liked by Skrillex is Leaving EP, and I've never liked Deadmau5. There are just others in each genre that I like way more. Plus, Skrillex's music is mostly boring brostep, while Leaving EP was only an attempt to be like Burial.

Oh, definitely Deadmau5.  I mean, Skrillex lately hasn't been very good. But I like House a little more than I like Dubstep. I mean, Skrillex's music does sound pretty cool, but deadmau5 in my opinion has more talent.

In all seriousness though, they're both good artists from different genres. Skrillex is a household name when it comes to Dubstep, and Deadmau5 is well known for Progressive House music. It's kind of like comparing apples and oranges.

I like 'em both. I might not like all of their songs, but I enjoy quite a few tunes from each side of the fence.

i havent listened to a lot but from what i have heard i prefer skrillex. perhaps i just dont like the genre that deadmau5 does
