And Rarity's ipod, eh? What do her fans think she likes listening to? I like the idea of Rarity being enamored with soul, rnb, and funk. Any music with generally rich and slow timbre, a bit sophisticated, a bit sassy as well.

 

Rarity? No no no, rarity listens to Jazz. Miles Davis, Michael Brecker, Johnny Coltrain, Duke Ellington. She's a bit classier then R&B and soul...Also I'm pretty sure she would enjoy DMB and Jack Johnson due to her slight hipster side (The whole Trenderhoof ordeal). Classical? I bet she does, Tchaikovsky, Aaron Copland, Gustav Holst, Chopin.

 

Rarity I believe would not be falling into overplayed and redundent music like R&B.

As I said before the reason I don't buy into that is because artistry of Rarity's caliber tends to produce broad tastes and defining someone solely by the fact that they're 'classy' doesn't do the whole of their character justice. We've seen Rarity being somewhat shallow and definitely cheesy before, like when she's crushing on stallions. I'm not saying she's all 'cheap' taste or whatever, but she has her moments of gaudy music for sure. So she's just varied in her musical tastes, which is far more common in people than the internet would have us believe.

However, I also do not feel just lumping her into liking exclusively classical and jazz is a fair trade, either

 

Rarity, while being prim and proper, and of refined tastes, is also artistic and knowing about pop culture due to having to keep up with the times as per her career

 

Now, of course, I feel like Jazz is a reasonable solution, as is R&B and classical; but I don't think Rarity is one to listen exclusively to one or two kinds of music, but rather, she has a wide pallette of taste in genres, anything from classical to dance.

 

Now, of course, her exceptional attention to detail also allows her to separate the good from the bad; she'll listen to pop, but not like, Justin Bieber or what not; she can tell the good stuff and the bad stuff

 

So, I believe genres are limitless, as long as it's good music, but she his a slight preference for Classical and possibly R&B or Jazz

Nah dude she listens to love songs and songs that are related to fashion and jewels like her diamonds by matchbox 20 or the artist jewel, that and anything that generally to her has a good energy feel to it.

I would account that to the fact that she gets a LOT of unnecessary, unprecedented, and undeserved hate. But in fact, she is one of the best, and most interesting characters in the show.

Eh. It used to be that way, but it's calmed down a lot now  

 

It's still there, but it'd be pointless to try and exterminate it all, and it's nothing to worry about whatsoever

Here's a question for my fellow Rarity fans, then! I know not all of you might be fans of le shipping, but for those of you who are, which pone do you think makes the cutest couple with best pony 4ever?

 

Like, I have this guilty little headcanon that Rarity and Fluttershy were the first major friendship of the mane six to form way before any of the others started forming, like right after their cutie marks were found, and at some point they grew so close that they decided to try dating for a bit. Flutters is, by tenuous canon, the second most generally beautiful mare besides Rarity herself and in competition for that spot with proper attention. So she triggers all sorts of things with Rarity's aesthetic sense, and... Man, I can't even describe it without feeling the urge to write fanfiction! But it's best couple, yes yes.
