Heh. 800 pages Hard to believe that we were barely in double digits a little over a year ago. We've come far, and we should be proud of everything we've accomplished here, whether within the fanclub as a small subcommunity or the war on Rarity hate that may have been standard internet bickering, but I still like to imagine it as a bloody and horrific revolt like the Celts did with the Romans  That's over now, though, thankfully. We have elevated Rarity's status to being a big part of this site, even making her competetive with traditionally popular ponies like Fluttershy and RD on this website. We even beat Twilight once in one of those tournaments.

 

I feel myself going into old man by the fireplace mode again.

 

Twilight Sparkle vs. Rarity in the 2014 March Madness tourney. While some unfortunate things may have happened later on, I still believe our mutual struggle against a traditionally popular pony was one of our defining moments as a fanbase. It was a blood and iron type battle - vicious, lightning fast. No one retreated and the victor wasn't clear until the final moments. It'd get a new page's worth of posts every refresh. It was Blitzkrieg, and I loved it.

 

In the end, after a LOT of work and a lot of fighting, we worked our way up top and defeated Twilight by a mere 5 votes. They fought just as hard as we did. It'd be one of those battles where no one retreated.

 

I felt so alive right then. Unfortunately that tourney ended in a way that I'd like to forget, but in the end I was proud of our accomplishments as a fanbase. We've grown a lot since then, too. Maybe next time a tourney rolls about we'll take home the gold

Related to your image, Rarity's favourite team for their class (and my home team), the Montreal Canadiens, just beat the LA Kings 6-2. This is a good day. Let's hope for another 800 pages!
