EDIT: I also really like that one of the fashion designers is male. It's a small detail, but it's nice to see the show buck some stereotypes.

Yeah, there seems to be a lot more stallions in this season so far. Great thing to have.

Also, gotta point out that the fashion designers look somewhat like our fandoms outlandishly designed OCs. Probably because fashion designers are often like that, but just thought I'd point that out. It's good to get a breath of fresh air from all the pastel colours sometimes as well.

Yeah, there seems to be a lot more stallions in this season so far. Great thing to have.

Ah, well I wasn't so much excited for there being a male character as much as I was that there's a male character in a traditionally-female occupation, such as fashion design. 

 

It's a nice subtle message to boys and girls, that you should be whatever you want, regardless of traditional gender expectations.

Between showing her element, a great song, a perfect villain for her (she really found her Trixie or Lightning Dust)it was all around fantastic.

Amazing episode. I'm eagerly awaiting the Rarity Takes Manehatten topic in the season 4 board, so I can post my huge review of the episode.

 

Short version: I was very pleased with the episode as a Rarity fan, and it's definitely my favorite season 4 episode, and one of my favorite episodes in the entire show.

Rarity Takes Manehattan is love, Rarity Takes Manehattan is life. 

 

 

But seriously, best episode in the whole series for me!! Polsky actually did it! Surprised the hell out of me, but he did it!! The characterization was perfect, it didn't highlight her flaws or her positives; it was Rarity, and it was fabulous.

 

Season 4 has been great to Rarity They're getting back to the Pony I feel I get to love and enjoy rather than I feel I have to defend.

wow this episode has given the season a breath of fresh air in my opinion. Most of the episodes so far has been focused on unimportant and forgettable moments for the mane6, but with this episode, of course! an episode of Rarity, I can see development and fluidity of the storyline, even if MLP is a SoL kind of show.

 

It lacked comedy but it was compensated by the views, the very first view of Manehattan, and the plot which was interesting seeing new NPC's again. I definitelly want to hear more about Coco Pommel, she was soo adorable, reminded me a lot of Fluttershy.

 

They wanted to make obvious that Rarity is indeed generous, lol, way too obvious but who cares, imo she gets the best episodes :3

Yep, Rarity sure did just have her best episode ever, Rarity Takes Manehatten was just amazing.

Seems episode 13 of season 4, Simple Ways, might have something to do with her as well. Can't wait.

well we all have different opinions, Sweet and Elite is not only (for me) best Rarity ep, but it's also best episode of the whole series, tied with A Canterlot Wedding due to too much epicness. But in the end, Rarity fans should stick together, because we have a lot of enemies around, and they usually really like Rainbow Dash.  :okiedokielokie:

@@Motion Spark,  oh hey, you noticed that too.

 

I personally like RD a lot, just as I do all of the mane 6. I don't see why her fans get like that sometimes, but to each their own  Just don't expect me to wear kid gloves when they pop up like that.

 

 

I just thought it was sorta a weird trend, but mehh. Whatever

I really didn't care much for Rarity when I first became a brony. Hell, it took me a long time to kind of warm up to her. I guess it's because she's the character with whom I relate least. It's not because I lack generosity. I haven't got a problem giving stuff to people who need it more than me (within reason, of course). 

 

However, season 4 has been very, very good to Rarity for me. I still don't really relate with her, but she's just had lovable moment after lovable moment after lovable moment and I'm really liking what they're doing with her this season. Don't get me wrong. Seasons 1 & 2 had some great Rarity moments. Especially "I'LL DESTROY HER!!!" 

 

So yeah, even though I'm not a Rarity fan, I'm really beginning to love her character this season
