We've had polls and other things in the past that provide official, sometimes anonymous feedback from users about things. We had a gigantic one all about Roleplay World and how that was being run, one time, I recall. Haven't had anything along those lines in a while, I don't think.

I think the forum could be better if you got rid of the 100 world post limitation. I mean sometimes you have things to say that only need to be said in less than 100 words.

And most of the time we really don't need spam such as "i agree wif dis" or "u suck".

 

Due to major complaints, though, the admins are thinking of a way to solve this problem by averaging the word limit, or something, but it could still be abused. I personally think we should let it be.

Making so it has to be 100 words isn't an effective spam filter. People will find a way to say that type thing regardless. Besides anything could be abused no matter what it is; so really that is a bad argument.

And I see people try to get around the 100 character minimum all the time, by artificially padding their posts so that they meet the minimum which in an of itself is spam. I understand why this system was adopted as flawed as it is but I think it should probably be reduced to 75 if it is kept at all as it can more effectively do what it was intended to do and reduce the amount of users trying to get around it.

Truthfully...In my honest opinion...

We have enough Moderators to watch out for Spam, so we dont really need a character or word limit in a whole.

 

Perhaps putting a character limit on new thread creation posts to make them better, but for average posts, we could just rely on the mods keeping an eye out for spam, and we ourselves could report any other spammers out there...

Having been on another forum for 4 plus years, I can say that this one is extremely well run and efficient. Its easy to find my way around here, and I appreciate the 100 character minimum in the certain threads. It makes you really think about what you'd like to write.

 

I wish we could have more emoticons though
