Well, I knew it would happen, so no sleep will be lost. Applejack can go home a proud pony that should put up the fight of her life. She'll probably never get the credit she deserves from fans, but she certainly does have a loyal and dedicated group of fans. Time for this workhorse to pack up and head on home. There, she can greet those who supported her and her efforts with a warm, proud smile.

Anyways for this voting session I'm voting for Discord, because hes just such an awesome villain, and while Luna has some coolness and is releatable for me in some areas, Discord is just to hilarious and random and just awesome in my opinion.

Yeah, I know your pain, it's like the Heat coming back from a double digit deficit in game seven last year to advance to the NBA finals or (a more gut-wrenching example), Eli Manning rallying the Giants from a score down to beat the Patriots in Super Bowls 42 and 46  Clutch performances are either loved or hated...

Now, unfortunately, the AJ fans know the pain I felt a few short nights ago. AJ's lead was as large as six today, and just like that it was gone with a huge flurry at the end. Same thing happened to Flutters against Luna.

 

Speaking of that, voting for Luna. I have a buddy that REALLY would like to see Luna win, so I shall do my part to make it happen. Though I certainly understand the rationale of choosing Discord. I'd just rather not be on the bad side of a ridiculously OP Alicorn.

I knew she'd pull through! Applejack put a great fight, however, and I applaud her fans for being so gracious in defeat. Nice to know that Applejack still has plenty of support. Good game, indeed!

Quite frankly, Discord is way more OP than Luna is, even considering the time when she was being Nightmare Moon. He was shown to be able to override both Princess' control of sun and moon in his debut, either effortlessly or worse, subconsciously.

 

I'm going to vote Luna, though. I was disappointed with the way they took Discord and turned him 180 degrees (well, more like 163.7 degrees, roughly speaking  ) to make him good "most of the time". Pshh... waste of a perfectly good villain, if you ask me. I guess no one did...

This has been pretty interesting so far. Glad Twilight pulled out in the end. Though I'm going to pick Rainbow and Discord for the next rounds, and I expect them to meet in the finals, with Dashie edging out the draconequus at the very end by a slim margin.

I consider Twilight beating AJ to be a bit of an upset.  I thought the unrest from the whole Twilicorn thing would've turned just enough public opinion against her for our favorite farmgirl to prevail. 

 

Anyway, back to the match at hand.  Until this tournament, I was something of a Luna fan.  She wasn't as popular to me as a Mane 6 pony, but I did like her.  But ever since she knocked Fluttershy out of the tournament, she's been in the doghouse as far as I'm concerned.  I'm voting against Luna from here on out.  And who better to show her to the door than Fluttershy's new BFF Discord?

Meh, the only thing that Discord has going for him in my eyes is his Voice Actor. Other than that I find him rather dull. I very much dislike the whole chaotic random characters. Luna is by far a superior character for me.

 

Shame AJ lost previously but I've very happy it was so close.

Aw, AJ lost?  That's kind of disappointing, even though I voted for Twilight...  It would have been pretty dramatic for AJ to pull up on top for once.  And since it was by a single point, I now feel bad...

 

Anyways, voted for Discord.  Luna has a nice design and she gets major bonus points for her role in Sleepless in Ponyville, but I love Discord's sense of humor and randomness (exploding chocolate milk, vomiting the red carpet, etc).

A Discord victory on April Fools would certainly be most appropriate . It would also seem to bode well for Pinkie to have her voting open today

So, I don't really need to explain how Pinkie Pie is the greatest in every way. She's way cuter, she's a more developed character and she sings more songs. She's also saved the day more times than Cadence!

 

And just look at her too. You want to hug her.

This has to be the easiest choice I have made so far, Cadence is a character with some potential but when I first started watching Pinkie Pie was my 2nd favorite pony. She is now my third not because I like her any less but because a couple of ponies have moved up on my list, so go Pinkie Pie.

*grumble grumble* Some other ponies were in the lead for most of their rounds and didn't win *grumble grumble*

 

Anyways, I suspect this will be the least exciting round of the elite eight. Pinkie has character depth and development that Cadence does not, end of story for me. Even if I don't find Pinkie that funny, she has other traits that make up for that.
