Her left eye was closed during that part, and her right eye was open to give it a scarier/more evil effect. I noticed this earlier, but then I realized it probably wasn't a mistake.

If it is a mistake, it's the best one since Derpy. It should totally become a meme. "Sinister Wink Cadence" is what it should be called. And every snapshot of her standing to the left should be edited to have that wink. It will be hilarious. Probably not. In fact I'm sure it won't. Let's just say it'll never happen.

I noticed that, thinking it was just a way to make her look more evil.

 

But now that you bring it up... no one would do a long, drawn-out wink while standing in profile with a mirror and looking away from it, especially while revealing an evil plan to... herself.

It's a big enough part of the show where I couldn't see errors happening. IMO, I think it was used to brighten the mood to those who noticed it.

She was attempting to gain additional love from the audience which she could then use for energy. While her camera side would appeal to anyone who loves a good villian, the mirror appears innocent and kind. Almost Fluttershy yell like.

YES! Can't anyone get that. The eye facing away from us (which is facing the mirror) is shut, and the eye she is using to look at the camera is open. How the heck is that an error. It's not even an error on purpose. There is an animation mistake in that shot, though. Her snout is shaped different in the mirror.
