This is something I feel should be discussed. ((I can only hope I've placed this is the right forum :/))

I've just been wondering. If bullying wasn't such a problem, in our schools, and our own families, would there even be any closet bronies (like myself)? Would those of us who are afraid to come out about it be able to display our love for MLP proudly? Would we be able to display our sexuality? Or likes and our dislikes? Our hobbies? Would we be able to tell those that we love what they mean to us without fear of being rebuked? I'd like to think so. I think of how many innocent people out there who, like me, suffer from this, and it breaks my heart! This has to stop!

I've created this forum for the purpose of discussing things we can do to prevent it from happening. To rally together with one another and show people that it really does effect us all. This forum is also to give a helping hand and a comforting hug, a shoulder to cry on, to those who need it.

My friends and I have decided to start a movement at our school, starting by convincing the principal to view and share this video with our peers. Those of you who have been bullied, I encourage you to listen to me, and maybe take a look at Shane Koyzcan's poem. It helped me. A lot.

Well I've really only been bullied in verbal ways I guess really. Nobody's outright physically harmed me, both because I'm kinda shy and I don't know why they would bother with such a thing, and well luckily our school district is pretty good at anti bully policies.

People will kinda talk down to me, and I've been told I have a weird voice before, but it doesn't bother me that much. I'm not really sure it could honestly be considered that much of bullying seeing as it wasn't really to much if any repetition by a specific person.

However I am against bullying, I don't think its fair to do such a thing to people, to put people down for something, and judge them is just.. Wrong. And it can cause other problems later on for that person.

While I can understand bullies have their reasons for doing these things, I still think they shouldn't do them and that they are cruel acts which I am against.

Personally, the students at my school that I've seen are too outspoken and often cause other less open students emotional or verbal harassment (sometimes physical). Seriously...

The thing we need to do is to encourage the students to be more confident, yet subtle with their words to the bullies because we all know that the bullies themselves don't give much of a single fuck about the anti-bullying programs. You don't want the students to be so confident that they are beaten afterschool, yet you also don't want them to go and cut themselves, do drugs, and etc. because of all the pressure being put on them.

On personal view, I think that the reason why most people let themselves be affected by bullying is because they don't see the insults as lies. They are being baited into thinking that those insults are true to themselves and let them lower their self-esteem.

The main thing you have to know is that: " If you know it's not true, then don't believe it". Are you a lowlife drug addict? If not, don't take the insult. Are you ugly? No, of course not.

Don't let those bitches fill your head with lies and bring pressure upon you. Your better than to believe the crap they say.

Another reason I believe anti-bullying programs today are so ineffective is because we have become blind and desensitized to it. Sadly, it has become such a part of culture to bully people into conforming to the standards of society that we don't even notice! Bullies themselves actually believe they are doing nothing wrong.

Getting their attention involves direct action and exposure. There is no room left for formalities now. Doing things the old fashioned way will not work; we must expose the problem to the instigators themselves. Adults may talk, but they don't realize that the only ones actually listening are the victims themselves. It is sad but true...

This is so true. I've noticed that anti-bullying programs have decreased as well, and it brings sadness to my heart to see that our society today doesn't bother to save those who are being bullied. Maybe they've just lost hope...

Well as one who was bullied for about 4 years, I can honestly say that I am against bullying. I was never bullied physically, but verbally, and psychologically. I was bullied for my ethnicity. No one ever wanted to get to know me, and of they did wan to talk to me they did it only to try and hurt me. I say psychologically as well because they attempted to keep me alone and didn't want anyone to be my friends. Made me feel even more weak and depressed.

Thankfully that time period ended and as of today I have not been bullied since.

Today nothing said to me verbally will hurt me. After years I developed ways to ignore and block all types of verbal attacks on me. You can basically say anything at me and it wouldn't hurt me one bit.

I try to help other deal with bullying, being bullied myself once, but there is only so much I can do. I can't fix everything. I'm only one person.

Our anti-bully programs arn't the best I admit, but it also stems from the problem that the ones being bullied are afraid to speak out and ask for help.

I do hope that our anti-bully systems get better. No one deserves to be out down, and no one has the right to make other feel miserable.
