Hm, I quite liked it. It could almost be an episode of the show if not for the scenes with the background ponies(a bit too much imo), and of course basically the whole second half. As a whole it was very funny and enjoyable though, a very nice love letter to the show and Lauren Faust I'd call it, not quite their level but very close. Definitely give it a watch if you haven't already. :)

Well... It wasn't too bad. I thought the animation was pretty good. The voice acting was pretty good as well. Except Twilight ttaallkkeedd ssoooo ssssllllooowwww at times. The crossover? Not sure if want. It was done well, but I have never thought if putting those 2 things together. I think what it was missing for me were feels. Every good MLP episode and fan animation has them feels. This just seemed... flat. Though it didn't live up to the hype for me, I still enjoyed it and would put it up in my top 5 fan animations. The creator should be very proud of this.

Hmm...

The story was sorta ok at first and then it just loses all focus in the second half. Don't get me wrong, I love PPG, it's just that those scenes just dragged on and they weren't funny either.

Speaking of humor, it just wasn't that funny. I think the problem was that it was just too forced and just unnatural.

The music was nice enough.

I will say that I loved the credit reel ( and no, not because it episode ended). It just had a really nice feel to it with the music and the images smile.png

Anyway, overall I give this a 5.5~6.0 score.

This episode was absolutely AMAZING in every aspect. From the crossover ties with the powder-puff girls, and all the classic awesome cartoon network shows really touched me <3. I honestly think this is much better than most of the actual episodes of the show. I really really enjoyed watching this and I congratulate and thank the team and all who worked on this it was just a pleasure to see <3 Such a nostalgia rush this was cool.png   .

Them featuring Derpy in the episode was absolutely adorable and referencing so many different things like Scootaloo being a chicken, johnny bravo, etc.!

a gonna be a bit of asshole here, but before that...

I just wonna once again that Double Rainboom  - is a awesome fanmade episode, with pretty interesting idea about a plot, with good voice acting in overall, and that, actualy, this episode stuffed by a humor enought, to consider is as funny? Yeah, I think that's the word. Double Rainboom - episode that simply must MUST to be watched by bronies. Why? Just becouse it is good, silly img-1322796-1-smile.png

8/10

No, where will i start...

I didnt liked PPG crossover at the first, (actualy still feeling a bit odd about it), but some humor and "Pinkies paranormal techniques" has changed my mind so.... I don't mind crossover rly.

For my opinion, Rainbow dash is consider as slowpock in some scence.

Meme in a cloud of fog? Seriously? And what was that on a moon? a spongebob?

The whole idea with fliying in a space... Just dont like it. It is really awesome to fly high and fast, but who possibly you can fly somewhere in a space?

A tiny tiny poor animation of Pinkie Pie

Voice acting were great at overall, but sometimes just didnt believe in a charachters.

The originaly, MLP considered for a little kids. The episode was maded a bit dark cuz of "Fallout ponyvile", but that is okay - fanmade episode can be a bit off original aim, so the target audience was, actually, bronies, none kids. But still, equestria is a bright world of harmony and friendship, where no cruel thing happend, and all predators either eat hay or live in everfree forest. Why.... Just why there is some pony bones in foundation of oak?

---------------------------

Just once again wonna to say, that episode was awesome, and i certain will rewatch it again. 8/10

I loved it, although I feel like there might have been too many references... if that's even possible... and it kind of felt like a huge fan pandering, with billions of background ponies (then again, it WAS a fanmade episode, so what would you expect?)

The voice acting was... OK, but if they were going for 100% show-accurate, they probably could have got better actors/actresses

I LOVED THE PART WITH DERPY AND THE MUFFIN <3

When she ended up in the PPG universe I was confused then excited because I always used to watch that show as a kid... epic nostalgia.

The first ten minutes felt kind of slow, and the PPG crossover was so... unexpected... awesome, but unexpected.

I really can't think of much I didn't like about it, other than the billions of references... I honestly can't decide whether that was a good thing or a bad thing

Final verdict:

I'm gunna give an honest opinion in it's full glory!

Spoiler Alert!!!

OK, I'm just going to go over Some things. I found the animation well done and at times it looked better than the show. I can't really say anything about the voice acting cause that would involve going into every single voice actor and that would take too long.

And now to the story. I liked the plotline personally. Twilight creates a potion that can enhance a ponies special abilities and Rainbow Dash drinks it without permission, resulting in catastrophe. Now while this was done well for the first 15 or so minutes, I did not like where it went afterwards. The whole Power Puff Girls crossover felt wrong and out of place. it was executed well but the concept was poor, and while it is a nice nod to Lauren's previous work, there could have been a better thing to do. Also you would believe that the unusual reaction the chemicals create (when that troll face comes out of the tube and laughs) would have a more significant reason to be in the story. But no. It's entirely purposeless. The final lesson was good, but could have been better. Somehow. I dunno.

What would I say overall? It was good though some of it kinda disappointed me, but nonetheless it definitely hits par with the canonical show. 7-8 out of 10

On the plus side, it was great to see Derpy and her muffin (d'awwww!!) and Scootaloo crashing into the chicken poster just cracked me up a little, sorry Scoots. Dash was cute, but I just didn't feel the ultimate..... adorableness because her voice just wasn't as original and distinctive. I am certain there would have been a better VA for Dashie.... Only the most awesome people can do her voice.

This is a really tough one for me because I love the episode as a whole there are just a few things that stick out to me that could have been done better.

First I think the writing was great even when it felt a bit forced at the beginning. I feel like the intent of the whole thing was to lead to the crossover rather than explore any kind of relationship with the ponies in ponyville. This is why I believe the writing was lack luster in the beginning and felt like it was dragging. But honestly that’s all I can really point out about the story being done better. Over all I loved the cross over and I understand what the team was trying to do. The cameos were great and made me smile the whole time. But in terms of the actual story, it was lack luster in my opinion.  6/10

The music I thought was terrific and was right up there with any MLP episode to date. Music was spot on with characters and made sense in the grand scheme. 10/10

The animation was not perfect. There were a couple of spots I think could have been cleaned up but overall I can tell that the team really put in the hours to make it shine. The glitter was there for me.  8.5/10

The sound effects and voice acting was where it really disappointed me. I won’t comment on the quality of the voice actors as they are not professional and I think they did a good job with what they had. The sound effects didn’t pop like they should have in my mind. They were a little dull and flat with the overall soundscape feeling two dimensional.  But the big problem I had when it comes to sound is the echo in Rainbow Dash’s voice over. During the first two minutes of the video it is blatantly obvious next to Twilights voice. I don’t know if they used a different mic or where in a different room recording but it sounds like she’s in a submarine and is very distracting. I really don’t know why this happened either as Twilight’s voice over is very well done. The echo goes and returns through out the episode and it frustrates me as it was something that could have been easily avoided. It is possible that the actress voicing Rainbow sent in voice recordings from across the internet and was using a personal mic. This would explain the difference in sound quality compared to Twilight. I just wish they had spotted this and tried to fix it as it will be something everyone points to because it is so obvious. 5/10

Please remember that this is an overly critical review and I loved the video overall and think that the director has done a great job in what he has put out. I in no way am trying to bring him down I just think it’s good to put out some constructive criticism. I will definitely be sharing this video and wish him the best in his future of which looks very bright.

Overall Score 8/10 laugh.png

Meh. It was alright.

The voice acting was pretty good, animation spot on, backgrounds good too...

I think what I dislike about the episode is the whole concept. Sonic Rainbooms are an extremely rare, incredible thing. To have two of them at once.... I dunno, I guess I just think it's taking it a little too far. I do know she drank the potion and all, but still, a little thing that bugs me.

Another thing, it wasn't very funny. There are hardly any funny moments in the whole second half. But the Scootachicken thing was funny, and so was the Derpy bit.

Didn't like the Powerpuff Girls crossover though. It's an episode about ponies. TOO MANY REFERENCES TO KEEP TRACK OF! MAKE IT STOP!

Things getting too complicated for your simple little brain, SparklingTwilight?

Anyway, I'd rate it a 6.999998 outta 10.

It was much better than I expected it to be,honestly.I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Animation, voice acting, and muisc were top-notch.Everybody seemed to be in character as well, and the twist was unexpected. The production quality was nothing short of phenominal for a fan-made episode.However...

It didn't really have any substance.Granted,it was the first episode done, but it mostly relied on fandom jokes and easter eggs a bit too much instead of making the dialogue more engaging. The first few minutes were actually really good, and as much as I love the references (especially the Back To The Future and Austin Powers ones),nothing should rely too heavily on them unless the sole purpose is to parody pop culture, which I highly doubt this was the purpose of this fan-made episode.

So,very high production quality, but if they're going to do future episodes, they need to have more substance for each episode plot.

"Not bad at ta'll, mate. Well worth the suspense and wait all this time whilst we dealt with drama bickering over a pair of flight appendages and teenage pony humans."

Very, very excellent. As many have already made clear, the animation, character interactions, etc. were top notch for fan animation, and can easily be compared to the show itself. I personally found much, much enjoyment on a lot of the visual gags, poses and expressions made by the characters, many of which I haven't seen done in the show itself. It's always great to see in-universe material from the fandom actually build onto the characters in the ways they act and interact.

post-4006-0-22209800-1364725230.png

Just for one example. Actually, Dash was obscenely cute throughout the entire scene. Lure grabbing, swatting playfully at Twilight's floating potion glass, the various comical sitting positions, etc. I don't find that the show has these in great supply, at least on a per episode basis. More than enough in this single installment to make me a happy camper. Spose' the fans themselves are quite excellent at making the adorable and funny over-the-top emotions for the characters truly shine through expressions, poses and dialogue.

As for the plot, it was plotastic. The storyline wasn't bad, either. It was interesting, but certainly simple enough in design to make it realistic for the show. You know, not including all of the cartoon cameos. Which I, by the way, practically fangasmed over. The Powerpuff Girls was the ultimate reference, for me. Not only was it one of Lauren's top worked shows from the past, but it too featured cute female characters. A parallel was drawn, and I very much enjoyed it.

And for moments like these, too.

img-1322887-2-284019__UNOPT__safe_rainbo

Some people are picky and only want it to be ponies. Others didn't watch the other shows so they can't appreciate their inclusion like other fans can. That's fine. Still, I don't see the point in criticizing this animation for that, or letting it at all tarnish your complete enjoyment of this work. They're cameos. You don't have to like it, but don't go on and on about it. If you feel like making it a big deal, I recommend you get over it, please and thank you wink.png

Hmmm. What else is there to say? Not much. The dialogue, characters and the way they were portrayed was adorable and well-done, the storyline was unique and a good, outside of the box style that was perfect for a fan animation, and the cameo selection was obviously a terrific fit that was pulled off well, in my opinion. I've seen art of the PPG and Dash meeting before, and always wondered how they'd interact. My inner fanboy adored their entire introduction with each other.

Definitely worth the wait. Not a doubt in my mind. Best fan animation our fandom has produced thus far, hands down.

Here's my opinion on the episode:

The animations was great and i really loved the eastereggs(my
favourite was the back to the future theme when twilight was
searching for RD at 16:30 or so).
The voice acting was most of the time good but sometimes I couldn't
connect the voice to the character.

I think the powerpuff crossover was a bit unfitting and there
would have been better ways for the story to go.
It turned out not that bad when they started playing on here(that
was awesome!). I also loved the superpowers Pinkie got after
drinking the potion.

The music was really well done. All in all it was a really good
episode especially if you think about it as a fanmade episode it
was even better then some of the originals.

IN my opinion it's a 8/10 !

Glad to see some more positive reactions here than on r/mylittlepony, smile.png

Sure it wasn't perfect, but it was really enjoyable(even more than some real mlp episodes like "Spike for your Service").

The jokes worked out for me, the animation was well and I also liked the pacing because it put emphasis on gestics, mimics, etc....

Only the end felt a bit rushed and not so good.

Overall a 8/10 from me. biggrin.png

I feel really bad for the person who made it though, because he worked hard and some Bronies seem to be completely off their rocker lately with unreasonable critics. It's quite shocking in my opinion that so many people in that community are really ungrateful, harsh and seem to be not able to enjoy anything that isn't completely perfect. sad.png (I am talking more about what I've seen on reddit, not here)

That was amaaaaazing.

Le nostalgia.

Le humour.

Le frickin' awesomeness.

Le three timelines.

Le twist.

Animation was smooth, and detailed as all hell, the voice acting was as close to the original as you could get. And it was pretty damn funny. Add the references from BTTF, Austin Powers, Queen Lauren's other works of art and the shock value at the end and you've got probably the best fanmade episode of all time.

Also, the internet memes (Domo and Troll Face) were an interesting touch.

Rating: 10/10

This was.....horrible. The writing... oh god what was he thinking! The pacing made everything feel stretched out, the fanon stuff felt forced and didn't add anything to the story (if they absolutely felt that they had to put this in they should've done so in the background), and the crossover...

...

I don't know. Ugh, again what were they thinking! What purpose did it serve other than giving a big shout-out to Lauren? It certainly didn't make the story any better. Even Snowdrop did better here.

The voicing was decent (I didn't cringe when I heard them so that was good), the music was ok, but nothing special, and the animation was quite good. Not at all show accurate, but I didn't expect it either from something fanmade. Overall I can approve of everything but the writing. It ruined everything.

There were some bits that were pretty sloppy but overall it was okay for a fan "animation", in which I think was really excellent, I see it was worth the hype but I wouldn't say the same for mostly everything else about it.

Pacing was kinda sloppy, I mean it took so long for things to actually start happening and when it finally did it just felt disjointed. Memes were alright if it were kept at a minimum but damn they were everywhere.. Also the surprise crossover at the end made little sense to me. It would have been nice on its own but in the whole view of the plot, it felt nonsensical and self-indulgent.

Guys this is just my own opinion so don't start chewing me out for it, kk.

Some really good points here. I've watched it, my reaction is also positive and i can safely say that nothing was bad/horrible in this episode. Different perhaps and somewhat out of this poniverse which is totally fine. In fact i would rather see such things from fans. Something out of the ordinary and experimental. smile.png

The animation was skillfully executed and the score and voice acting quality was top notch (They probably could've done better for Rainbow Dash, thought). Can't say the same about the plot. Way to many references, memes and crossovers for it to even be considered "show quality".

It was fun nonetheless.

Oh my goodness, that animation was super impressive. As far as fan animations go, for just about any fandom, I can't think of anything that hit that level of quality. It was just so nice to look at. The scene from space looked lovely.

As far as the story goes, I couldn't really expect a fan made project to have show quality writing, but I thought he did a really good job. It was way different from any episode that would ever be on the show, but I think that's part of the fun of a fan made episode. They could do things that would normally never even be considered for an actual episode. I think it was intended to appeal to the brony crowd, which is hit or miss depending on tastes. The crossover did seem out there, but I had fun watching it as a PPG fan from back in the day. Also the last few seconds with Pinkie cracked me up. I overall enjoyed watching it, even if it wasn't perfectly true to MLP.

It's just about one of the most impressive things I've seen this fandom produce.

*sigh* I know I said I probably wouldn't, but I'm going to have to watch it again.

I have never really watched any of the shows they referenced (well, directly referenced. I noticed the Avatar Aang costume, but that was just about the only of the references I could really enjoy), so that could be part of the reason I disliked it. As Stellafera said above, when making references, subtlety is key.

Double Rainboom was hyped for animation quality. And rightfully so! The first trailer looked nearly identical to the show's style. But from that scene on, it just fell apart. The same could be said about the writing, I think. The first scene introduced the possibility for an AMAZING story, but the climax of it (the double rainboom) was in the first half, and from then on, it just felt so stretched out.

BAH, I've got to stop ranting before people get mad at me. :P
