You should add Coldplay. I used to believe they were good, now they're just terrible. (especially that paradise song, *shudders*)

Coldplay's older stuff was decent, though still not too good, and oh god don't even remind me of Paradise

- Moonbahton > Complextro

I don't even like Complextro in the first place

Nirvana's a good band, but that's it. When they're at their best, they're awesome, but like 90% of their music is just bland. And there are a LOT of people who think Nirvana's the greatest thing ever.

Err...I wouldn't call Nirvana's music bland though I do agree that they're far away from being the greatest thing ever.

More unpopular opinions:

- Disco sub-genres > Dubstep sub-genres.

- Jazz > Rock

- Nu-Disco > Italo Disco

- Hard-Techno > Acid-Techno

- Moonbahton > Complextro

What kind of jazz do you like? I've just rececently been interested in jazz and have only listened to one album. Any albums recommended for the uninitiated?

As for Coldplay, who else wants them added to the list?

I recommend 'Inspiration: A Tribute to Nat King Cole'  by George Benson.

Some great songs in the album, one of which I personally enjoy is 'Unforgettable' (Feat. Wynton Marsalis).

I'm not a Jazz fan though one Jazz album that I keep hearing about it Bitches Brew by Miles Davis, it seems to have quite the status with it.

I will definitely check it out. Thanks.

Atreyu

The Misfits

I've actually been listening to In a Silent Way which is the one before Bitches Brew. It took some time grow on me but now absolutely I love it. If Bitches Brew is supposedly even better then I can't wait to listen to it. Edited by LatinoChurro

I don't know about you guys, but I find Three Days Grace to be awful. They try to be an angsty and aggressive band, but they fail in every aspect. They instead come off as one of the most shallow bands in recent memory

Was just reading through the posts and saw this.  Not only does Three Days Grace suck, the lead signer is an asshole.  They opened up for Avenged Sevenfold two years ago and the lead singer started cussing out some old dude that wouldn't stand up during a freaking song.

On Topic: Disturbed is pretty good.  David Draimen has a good voice.  He's just another asshole.

I actually saw them with Avenged Sevenfold a couple years ago. I think they are okay, idk.

And did you say David Draiman is an asshole? I love Disturbed, wtf.

I absolutely love Disturbed's music.  David Draiman is just a freaking jerk.  His's an amazing vocalist.  He got pissed because people under the age of 18 were at his concerts and he didn't think that people under the age of 18 deserved to listen to his music.

David Draiman's new CD, Device was amazing!  It kind of sounded like Disturbed but that's becuase his voice is just so distinctive.

I don't believe that...he seems like a really awesome guy. I can't imagine him saying something like that. Do you have a link or something?

About Device, I thought it was disappointing.

I just remember my parents talking about it.  I think part of it was just because Disturbed didn't really have a good relationship together. They were just guys that played music.

Some of the songs were.  It was jsut much better than I expected.

In This Moment went to total shit with their new album.

I think Queen is one of the most overrated bands of all time. I don't know what you guys like about them. Their music is extremely boring, and the lyrics are to be honest, not so great as people make 'em out to. I also hate Mercury's style of singing, this however is just a matter of taste.

Not sure if I've said it before, but I love Lolicore, screw you wusses

Sometimes yes, other times no.

I'm gonna download Bitches Brew, I heard a song off of it and it was pretty sick.

Woa, you're hard.

I'm not sure how popular this is but whatever. I don't understand how bands like A7x, Disturbed, BFMV, etc. could get so popular. There are much better modern bands out there like Mastodon, Opeth, BTBAM, Electric Wizard, etc.

I agree that those bands deserve more popularity, but I think BFMV is a stable band. Their music is pretty feelsy, and their underrated songs (from The Poison, which is really their strongest release) do express some heavy feelings, In other words: They showed some true talent in The Poison

I'm not saying that the bands that I mentioned should be popular, I just don't understand why bands like A7x and BFMV are popular in the first place.

Because they are a lot easier to get into than those you mentioned before. If you showed a person who have never heard metal before a BFMV track and the a Electric Wizard one, the chances are much higher that the person would like the BFMV song

Sadly, that is true... but maybe if you showed them a Mastodon song they might like it. Maybe, Mastodon's actually a fairly popular band.

Three albums were released in 1959 that are mandatory listening. "Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis, "Mingus Ah Um" by Charles Mingus, and "Time Out" by Dave Brubeck. Start there.

I was actually planning on listening to Kind of Blue later today. I've heard a lot about the other two so I will eventually check them out later as well.

Slipknot

I'd like to remove this band from the list. Sure, they're not the best, but their music is fun to listen to. At least until "The Subliminal Verses" (FIGHT ME IF YOU DO IN FACT LIKE IT).

If you enjoyed it, sure. Otherwise, I'd say his best material out of his more accessible catalog is "Kind of Blue," "Sketches of Spain," and "In a Silent Way."

You should listen to In a Silent Way. It's a great album and it's considered one of Miles' best. It's jazz fusion just like Bitches Brew so I think you'll enjoy it.

It's much more melodic, the grooves are clearer, and it just sounds nicer overall. I think "Bitches Brew" was more innovative and sounded more interesting, so I prefer it to "In a Silent Way," but they're both fantastic. "A Tribute to Jack Johnson" is my second favorite to "Bitches Brew" in his discography, though.

I like how moody In a Silent Way is. I don't know if it's just me but it seems like an album someone would listen to at night. At least that's the kind of vibe I get from it.

Add Basto to that list. Not sure why he is one of the most respected Progressive House artists, he is fucking shit

Also, add Celldweller, I hate that fucker with a passion

My unpopular opinion: I liked The Bends more than OK Computer
