Rarity Bullwhip!

So I made a bullwhip with Rarity colors. I braided it with gorilla tape.

Me and my friend spent most of last weekend making the strands and braiding each layer. Last night I attached the fall and cracker. About an hour ago I finished the handle and knob at the end. I might post a video of me cracking it later, but right now it's two in the morning where I am.

I'm not sure what I would do with something like that, but if you enjoy it... It looks really cool and you probably had fun making it but it would be more fun with a back story. Rarity doesn't seem like the weapon carrying type but perhaps in a war this would be her choice, hmmmm but why...

Honestly, just to make loud noises. There are some cool cracking routines online as well.

 

Me and my friend are both jugglers and he got me into whipping too. This one is sort of a prototype whip, as we've never made one out of gorilla tape before.

That's cool! But, I'm a bit curious as to what you could use a bullwhip for. I hope you use it just for the sound, but hey, it has the Rarity look to it.

Or I this case, dirt. Why is it always dirt? I just imagined Rarity jumping on top of a moving train, with her falling into a coal car.

 

But seriously, that is pretty cool. Just a suggestion on if you want to make a new or remake this in actual leather. It would look better visually if you could have made the cracker, end-bit thing either the same color as the grip, or make it the color of Rare's cutie mark or mane.

Interesting. I would never have considered gorilla tape.

 

There's a leather supply place a hour or two away I go to for my stuff to make that kind of thing. Never made a bullwhip before, but I have made a romel to go along with the rest of the horse tack I made. (My wife's old horse was half-way between regular horse and draft horse sizing, making it awkward to get good fitting stuff. So I just made the bridle, halter, and so on for her.) I did do a driving whip once, but that's more a long thin stick with a cracker on it than a braided whip.
