It also has a 2.7 on IMDB.

And Batbrony is right. It's too early too assume any site's reviews will remain very positive or very negative, especially since many reviews are either fanboys giving it a ten without watching it or people giving it a one without watching it.

now it's at a 5 6.

Anywho.  I am happy to see this and like I said on many other threads I was excited for this movie and I will continue to become even more excited until I see it.

Anyways, I think that the rest of the people in the theater seems to enjoy the movie, too. There were lots of laughs and there was clapping at the end of it.

Really, the movie is just a long episode of MLP. And it is well worth seeing in theaters - it is only $5, and it is on the big screen in beautiful blu-ray. Can't beat that.

Also, 3 things about the IMDb rating.   1. It is now at a 6.1.   2. The median for ratings is at a 9. That's a pretty good sign.   3. I'd be willing to bet that most of the people who rated it a 1 haven't even seen the movie.

I threw out the 1's and 10's and came out with an average of 6.55. Which is...okayish? I may have to see it when it finally makes it to my area next month.

I saw it yesterday for the first showing and I liked it. I always pretty pro-Equestria Girls so I went in with a positive attitude and wasn't disappointed. smile.png The movie also made me like Twilicorn better.

Stopped watching movies in a theater in general because it's annoying to deal with obnoxious people (regardless of whether they are adults or kids). Also, a high-school teenage genre is something I've never been that interested in.

I will skim through the movie when the DVD comes out on iTune since I can afford that, but at this point; there's no reason for me to bother going out of my length to watch the movie.

Aaaaanywaaaay.... Yeah, so about that Equestria Girls... You know, if I do see it, it'll have to be on Netflix or something. If it was playing at the dollar theater just down the street, hell yeah, I'd go see it. No question about it. I have no reservations about it. I'm not afraid of looking like a "weirdo". But, you know, as it stands, too much time, too much effort, too much money.

I saw it yesterday and though I didn't join the panic party I had my doubts which are completely gone now. The movie is good, the plot although slightly cliched and predictable was written in a way to where it actually worked quite well. Twilight Sparkle was hilarious and as adorkable as ever in this movie, lots of great scenes with her awkwardly trying to adapt to human society and customs. And the crowd was very enthusiastic and boistrous which alone made the experience worthwhile.

Saw it and was surprisingly great! My faith in the MLP writing staff is restored. Plus, as others said it made me feel more comfortable with Alicorn Twilight.

Pinkie was the best in the movie, both pony and human universe version. Loved the whole cast though.

Of course they haven't. Can you think of a movie off the top of your head that truly deserves a 1? I can tell you that even going through some of my least favorite films I would rate most of them at at least a 3 or 4 out of ten. To give a movie a 1 out of 10 there has to be really no redeeming value in it. Though I tend to try stay away from scoring, but these sites rely on it.

Manos: The Hands of Fate deserves a 1.

But come on. Anyone who has even SEEN Manos: The Hands of Fate could NEVER believe that Equestria Girls is as bad as that movie. Not even the biggest hater in the world. If you don't think one of those Barbie movies is worse than Manos: The Hands of Fate, then how could Equestria Girls be that terrible too?

These ratings are notoriously inaccurate because the people who have already gone to see it are the ones most interested and therefore predisposed to have a positive opinion of it.  In other words, the sample is strongly biased in favor of people most motivated to like it.  Not to mention people that go see a mediocre or bad movie rarely go on the internet to rate it, they just leave and forget about it

Well I think most have only seen Manos through MST3k. I think that needs to be its own kind of movie. I was more referring to legit films with an actual budget of any amount of money. Or those released to theaters. I mean the worst movie I have ever seen goes by the name of Los Vegas Bloodbath. But its not really a legit film. Well I guess its as legit as me taking my web cam and making a crappy movie.

In any case Id still give Manos a 2 simply for the stupid moments that made me laugh.

Okay then, don't get upset when mlp becomes a girly show. Then, you will have a grudge there because you know you did something wrong.

Becomes? You say that as if it's not already and as if it hasn't been since the very beginning. You might want to pay attention to how every single main character is female, about how everything is about female activities and female interests, and about how the show is all about how there are so many different ways to be a girl.
