Mayor Mare VS. Mrs. Harshwhinny

Okay, these two ponies are kind of similar to each other in my opinion, so I decided to make a thread asking which of these two are your favorites. They are both very nice characters and are pretty underrated if you ask me. Vote above and post reasons below.

I would pick Mayor Mare. She is one of my favorites and I absolutely love her design. I wish she got more love in the fandom, but oh well.

I like Mayor Mare better since, she has a good design and she looks like somebody that you would get along with more than being with Mrs. Harshwhinny. So, point goes to Mayor Mare.

I'm gonna go with Mrs. Harshwhinny on this one. She's cuter, and she has a funnier name. And the suit jacket really works. She looks like a lawyer, very unique in MLP.

I've never really given those two much thought until now, but I'll have to say Mrs. Harshwhinny, personally. I like her clothes, and she's a pretty funny character if you ask me~ I also loved the episode she was featured in! I wish to see her more in the future episodes.

 

But yeah, they're both pretty nice ponies!

I like Mayor Mare more, just because we've seen her so much more than Mrs. Harshwhinny.  It'd be nice to see more of her, but I doubt we will.

I'm going with Harshwhinny.  I like her design better then Mayor Mare. The clothes are actually not that bad looking, and the mane style is way  better then MM's Mayor look.

I'll be honest with you, I choose Mrs. Harshwhinny simply because she has a really cool name and I'm really not too into Mayor Mare's design all that much to begin with

Mayor Mare all the way.

Unlike some of you, I like her design. Plus, Mayor Mare seems like a smart and nice pony.

i have to go for mayor mare on this one. she is very well designed and just overall a way more interesting character then Mrs. harswhinny.

Id have to say Mayor Mare for personality but Harshwhinney for design. The Mayor seems quite kind and fun to be around even though she is in charge of the whole town. Mayor Mares design is good very recognizable but not as eye catching. Harshwhinney just looks great that suit she has with the little neckerchief thing. Her hair style is great then there's that awesome annoyed facial expression.  All that said I voted for Mayor Mare.

Mrs. Harshwinny came off as a snob in that episode. I don't blame her. Visiting an empire to review it, but get treated horribly. Maybe she's a nice mare, I don't know. But personally, Mayor Mare's happy attitude would seem like something I would get along with.

Mayor Mare gets my vote here. I know her more than Harshwhinny and I like her quite a bit. Her design is nice looking and her voice is sweet in my opinion.

Mayor Mare, since I like her design way better. She's more optimistic than Mrs. Harshwinny, and Mayor Mare certainly appears more often.

Its a close one and even though I think that Mayor Mare won her elections fairly (or so I suspect thus far) and has the support of Ponyville, Mrs. Harshwhinny handily comes out on top with no contest.

 

The reason is quite simple actually:

 

How many people have the authority, let alone power to get a being as powerful and revered as an alicorn bowing on their knees before them and reduced to a state of despair and stress? Not many, definitely not Chrysalis without considerable force, Sunset Shimmer or even Discord. 

 

And yet, Mrs. Harshwhinny simply by appearing at the right time and place, caught the attention and pleas of Princess Cadence and no to mention the Elements of Harmony with ease, albeit with a few nuisances along the way. Power my friends, need not be brute force, raw magic, speed or any special power. It can come from something as basic or innate as status or one's own self will and inner strength. Fluttershy taught us this well. Something similar could be said of Mrs. Harshwhinny, and Mayor Mare.

I'd say mayor mare, Mrs harshwhinny is a bit to uptight for my tastes, plus I don't like her color scheme or design as much as Mayor Mares.

 

So Mayor Mare takes the cake here for me.
