Episode 9 was alot on the short side, but it was good. Especially the end

The cleaning part looked fun. I'd like to see Yang or Wiess catching Blake reading 'Ninjas of Love'. Obviously, Weiss doesn't do mornings. Does anybody else think the Cleaning theme sounded like 'Get Lucky'?

Just caught up on the latest 5 episodes (yeah, I've been slipping a bit) and episode 14 is just plain awesome. Jaune and the slow-mo and, and the shield and magnetism! Man, that one scene was just too perfect; I had to watch it, like, 10 times.

Anyways, episode 15 and I can always count on my favorite character to stir up some conflict. Blake tryin to diss my girl, Weiss' outfit? Yo, combat skirts, represent. Fine and functional; you already know. On a slightly more serious note, the conversation between Weiss and Blake that happens later on in that episode again makes me think that the trailers actually happened. At the very least, I can't see Blake's trailer correlation being just a coincidence.

That combat skirts moment was really nice to see because Weiss and Ruby initially got off on the wrong foot so much that Weiss saw her as her mortal enemy. And now here they are brofiving!

And yeah, I'm really starting to think the trailers are canon after what happened in this episode. It's already true that the lyrics are a very close reflection of their actual characters, and Blake turning out to be a Faunus now makes complete sense (altho not quite what I'd predicted). Blake might've even been a part of White Fang before joining Beacon, thus explaining the attack on the train that might've even belonged to Weiss's dad's company. Meaning Adam may even be a reality :D

The tears of many a Blake x Yang shipper were delicious btw :P

The reason you didn't find a thread for this awesome show is because this show isn't awesome. :P

You got it wrong. It's simply a matter that this show is too awesome for you :P

Also, cat girls and monkey kings are the best. Hands down.

I could get both of those from shows that aren't animated like poocakes. tongue.png People give this show a pass on its sub-subpar quality and "I found this in Google Images by typing in 'anime girls'" generic character designs because it's not some big budget studio behind it. And that's just poocakes. tongue.png Honestly, I find it hard to believe the creators even cared seeing some of the awful animation on this show. Entire hands should not clip through chins at any point, I don't care how lousy your software is...Which Poser certainly isn't the best out there.

RWBY is to anime what the Aladdin TV series is to the Aladdin film: Its cheap, off-model, they-just-didn't-care-quality cousin.

I wonder what exactly is it you expect from a weekly series that is being worked on only by ten people with a tight schedule due to other series running in the meantime along with an even tighter budget. I think you're being a little too nitpicky here tbh. Yes, the animation and even the voice acting suffers for it on certain parts, but it's no big deal when it's a series made entirely by amateurs. The concept, setting and storyline are all fantastic. Having too high expectations of this show seems rather silly when you take the conditions under which it's being made into consideration.

And when you also consider that the show received such a large fanbase within the first two episodes, or hell even before the actual series came out, hoping that a professional studio picks up on this isn't too farfetched, tho I do hope that if it does happen, the creative direction of the show is left entirely to its original creators.

Well, enough said. You can't expect a Pixar-quality product from a team of freelance animators who release their stuff in weekly basis. Looking at that again, they're doing very good.

Personally I think it's the writing that this series lacks. The characters are somewhat over-powered, not so unique, etc, but I think it works perfectly as a children show. Well, with all those blood and flying body parts, I guess it's for teen, but yeah, works pretty well.

The voice acting is on character, and well, on. The character designs are good, I must say, even though I'm not really a fan of those anime-looks with super-light over-sized weapons. Yes. I don't like Final Fantasy. About the animation, you can't really blame them for the quality. I don't think those who complain know how difficult it is to animate in 3D, and how much work is needed to make a series. After all, graphic isn't the main factor that creates immersion.

I'm not into hardcore fantasy, but I will admit that I do enjoy this thing.

This is just season 1 and things can easily get even more interesting in the future, especially if the trailers are something to go by. Also remember the very first scene in the series. So far, the show has been relatively light-hearted but the opening sequence promises the story could easily go down a very dark and gritty path. I feel we've only seen a very tiny fraction of the world of RWBY and we're only now starting to see more of the world thanks to the introduction of a rival school participating in a tournament as well as more insight into the struggle between humans and faunus.

Is the first season finished already? Man, that's brief. I just watch the videos. I don't follow the news. tongue.pngXD

Well, what I mean with writing isn't only about plot. Other things like conversations, and personalities as well. I do hope they lengthen the episodes, though. Seven minutes per week isn't so satisfying for me. I know it's a lot of work, but well, we can always hope. :v

So I just watched episode 16 and I gotta say Penny > Nora. Penny's funny in an odd way and has a pretty cool fighting style. Hopefully, we'll dive into her story soon enough. Monkey Magic was pretty cool too.

Anyway, it was a solid season; I just hope I don't have to wait too long for the next episode to come around.

So favorite characters so far:

Team RWBY - Weiss

Team JNPR - Pyrrha

Other - Penny

Agreed with Pyrrha but I'll go with Blake for team RWBY. I've never really liked Weiss much due to her really spoiled attitude throughout the series. I guess she's the type of character you either love or hate depending. Blake has always interested me a lot ever since I actually listened to the lyrics and finding out who/what she really is was awesome.

This show is awesome stuff. I stumbled upon it not very long after I subscribed to Rooster Teeth. I like Blake. She's just so dark and mysterious...

Well, I have a nasty habit of liking mean and spoiled characters, especially when they have a troubled past. That and being mean is kinda fun; I guess it appeals to my darker side...

We're like total opposites: I was interested in Weiss ever since listening to "Mirror Mirror" and I'm happy with how she's turning out so far, but I don't have all that much interest in Blake. I like her, just not as much as the others. After these last two episodes, I'm guessing the Blake fan club tripled in size, though.

Sun Wukong for me. I mean hell, I fucking love his fighting style! img-1992162-1-wub.png And he's also such a good guy, jumping in Blake's defense when he doesn't have a particular obligation to. I may just ship them tongue.png

Seems legit.

I wasn't initially too keen on watching the RWBY, purely because of Ruby trailer. Decided to let it go for a long time.

But, since I've watched all the RvsB episodes and reached the conclusion that it was one of the best series I've seen in my life story-wise (plus music), after the initial 100 episodes when the 'Freelancers' arc began in 6th (I believe) season, I've decided to give it a shot.

I was afraid that RWBY will focus on fighting too much, but it seems RT doesn't fail me once more, having a really balanced amount of interactions/fighting in the show.

I still prefer RvsB, but I'll gladly see the continuation of RWBY and see Weiss once more (even if she could use some polishing when it comes to character, she seems to be a bit 'off').

I saw the whole 1st season.

I think while they have the action done well, they need to make vast improvements to the animation and the writing, specifically the dialogue. Also so far I felt the story a bit lacking, but we're only in one season so ho knows.

I find the potential for this to be rather big, but I also see it falling short in the meantime. I think most of it has to do with this being the first fully original thing Roosterteeth ever did, and they're not quite into the groove yet. However, if that is the case, that's good news potentially because that means it's going to get better as time goes on, and I'll be looking forward to that!

Dialogue could certainly improve but it's not bad either. I'd rather say the more pressing issue is the voice acting in some instances, but both writing and voice acting are bound to improve as time goes on and more work is put into this. RT doesn't have a huge budget to work on RWBY to begin with anyways.

Honestly I don't see the budget being the issue. I think they have a lot of in-house talent as it is, but the biggest issue is probably the fact that this is new territory for all of them.

I see this hitting it's stride by season 3, with season 2 being an overall improvement on the whole thing.

Ok, so season 3 is going to air next week and I thought this would be a good time to revive this thread. Let me start off by once more offering my deepest condolences to Monty Oum. He was a wonderful man in every sense of the word, dedicated to what he did more than most others could say about their chosen professions. He would be very proud of the legacy he left behind and of the people who kept moving forward. RIP Monty Oum. You will be missed.

With that being said, two major things to mention now is RWBY: Grimm Eclipse has been put on Steam Greenlight, so if you have a Steam account, be sure to vote Yes so that it gets enough support for a Steam release.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=527581541

Hopefully the game can get enough support for a console release as well. Game looks to play a bit like Dynasty Warriors but I don't care. I just want a RWBY game sig-4158132.KqlesdL.png

Also, the third opening has been released:

It's definitely not on the same level as Time To Say Goodbye but I can definitely see it growing on me. The animation does look magnificent on the other hand. Given how well the animation was handled in RvB Season 13, I never lost hope in spite of Monty's passing.

That was dark . . .

I don't think I've ever managed to get past the third season of RvB? It was the one where they made some sort of explosion in the Box Canyon and then end up in a facility instead, I believe it was the Halo 2 engine.

RvB also became darker as the series progressed, and RWBY going in that direction as well can only be a good thing imo. There were already a lot of hints in season 2 of something a lot more sinster in the works.
