What is your favorite Indie Horror game?

I'd have to say that mine is Ib. It's just such an amazing game. It is free, too, here's a link for downloading it. It's about a little girl who goes to an art gallery and well, things just get weird from there. I highly recommend it to anybody who is into horror games.

Others I highly enjoyed were games such as Imscared and Ao Oni.

Mine would either be Ib or Mad Father. They're both incredibly awesome games to me; ones I could replay without much complaint.

I also personally enjoy Erie, Imscared, the SCP games, and The Crooked Man.

Those are probably all of my favorites.

I'd have to say Mad Father and...Witches House?? I can't recall off the top of my head if the Witches House was just like Mad Father or not...damn my memory.

I also really liked the SCP games. They were too damn atmospheric.

Now i'm gonna go out on a limb, and also include the Slender games. As much as I wanna hide under 5 sets of blankets and cry myself to sleep when playin' them, I do really like them.

My favorite of the ones that I've played recently is Mad Father. I just love how crazy the characters are and I absolutely loved how it ended. And the way the father says "Ayaaaaa~~~", is too funny.

Second favorite is Witches House because of how twisted it is. Seriously.

It's kind of mainstream now (I am not a hipster) but Amnesia was my favorite. I really liked the atmosphere. I really liked running around and getting slaughtered by monsters.

I played it with my brothers on my second playthrough and we laughed our asses off the whole time. The game lost its scary factor after that. So the sequel isn't high on my list of games to get.

Ao Oni...

Actually to be honest Amnesia is probably my favorite to date. It's just so atmospheric and suspenseful, a lot like the Silent Hill games. Ib was a really good game too, but I found it more eerily beautiful than scary

Amnesia is my favorite. It's the scariest game I've ever played.  So scary that I can only play for 30 minutes at a time before I feel like I'm going to have an anxiety attack.  Now that's self-destructive gaming.

Ib has to be my favourite horror game, not necessarily because it was the scarriest, but because of the atmosphere and the story. I actually designed an OC heavily inspired by Mary from that game as well.

As for the best horror game in terms of how scary it was, the scary award belongs to SCP.

The only horror games that I had enough courage to even look at were Amnesia and SCP: Containment Breach, and let me just say, I barely made it far in either of them. SCP is my favourite out of the two, especially with with the My Little Foundation mod. I've considered giving some other games a try, but I'm much too scared to even bother, I think I'll just stick to watching Markiplier and Yamimash play those awesome looking games that I'm missing out on. xD

I finished Amnesia 2 months ago and is probably the best horror game I played so far, it was pretty damn long too.

I also played Slender the arrival recently and it was scary as hell.

Other Games I liked were Scp and Mad Father

Amnesia might be indie but I think the internet needs to accept the fact that's it's not scary. Creepy atmosphere? Yes. Scary noises? Yes. But there wasn't much that made me jump or even startled, to be honest. I wasn't constantly looking behind or picking up items and throwing them down the halls to make sure there weren't any monsters.

Penumbra, on the other hand.. Oh my goodness. So many heart attacks. The monsters were horrifying. Enough nightmare fuel in there for a whole years worth of sleep. :P

Great soundtrack and story, too.
