I've always wondered what it'd be like to be a pony, but I can't actually fantisize about it because I don't know what it'd be like. In reality TV, only the interesting parts are shown. What if all we are shown is the interesting parts of the pony world? Still, I'd love to be able to fly and use magic.

I think this may not take off for the sole reason that this would take too much effort on Hasbro's side to gain very little back. If it's free there's no immediate benefit from having to create a new MMO with Oculus Rift compatibility, even if there were ad placements. Hasbro would look at the petition, look at the statements and just dismiss it.

 

My suggestion is to get the licencing agreement from from Hasbro to use their intellectual property. Then have a separate third party developer group create the game. Funding can come from the mlp community via Kick Starter to generate the immediate funds to complete this project and then you can use ad placement as a way to sustain the MMO. That or charge a small monthly membership free to get people to pony it up in the new world.

 

Otherwise, it'll be very difficult to convince any company to do this.

I think that people focus way too much on what is common behavior.  Personally, I think that a whole lot of common human behavior is completely absurd.  And yet most people go along with it because it is common.  Other behaviors that are uncommon make perfect sense to me.  But most people criticize that behavior simply because it is uncommon.

Oy, this thread again.  (I haven't been on this site long, but I've seen people ask this question elsewhere.)

 

If you're asking if fantasizing about being a pony out of the ordinary, then yes, yes it is.  However, there's nothing wrong with doing something that's out of the ordinary.  If it makes you happy and it doesn't harm anybody, then go ahead and imagine you're a pony.

 

The thing that could cause you problems is telling people about it.  Tulpas, clopping, etc. are best kept to sites designed specifically for that sort of thing.  Otherwise, you risk creeping people out.

 

Truth is, every single human being on the planet has something they do or think about that isn't considered appropriate.  While not everyone fantasizes about being a pony, everyone does have something they do that's equally "weird".  The thing that sets you apart is that you'e posting on a forum about it.

It's really healthy to fantasize about pretty much anything, and I would kill to have lucid dreams with ponies!

Last time I had a lucid dream I was killed in WWII by communist partisans, and then my spirit was released and I roamed around the spirit realm. Then when it was time to go to the next stage of afterlife, It was a hall made of beer bottles! Then I searched for a toilet and I started sh*ttin' I realized that spirits don't sh*t, but I couldn't wake up... After that part I don't wanna speak of.

I'm a furry, so I pretty much always fantasize about being some kind if animal, and ponies are just so cute~ As long as someone is fully aware that they aren't an animal, and they don't get too crazy about it, I think fantasizing about being an animal is just fine.

When I was a kid, I fantacized about being a dragon, being tall and powerful, and capable of flying faster than the fastest plane I could imagine. Such is childhood, and I still haven't really grown out of those fantasies. I fortunately get the chance to experience such things in my sleep.

 

Whether it's a pony, dragon or even another person, it's perfectly normal to want to experience what it would be like to see things from... shall we say another perspective.

I mean ive never fantasiesd about being a pony, But ive fantasiesd about being a superhero. i still catch myself doing it sometimes and im always having dreams about it. and im 20 years old so that's pretty weird to me. Last night i had a dream about it i took out like 6 guys all by myself, off subject i also had a dream of an MLP RPG, Like skyrim with ponies (not kidding). Anyway It's all about perspective.
