Scorpion In "Spider-Man (2002)"

 

He's a heavily arm(or)ed paranoid schizophrenic who stalks you throughout a large abandoned building, he no-sells just about EVERYTHING you throw at him, there's literally NOWHERE you can hide where he can't get to you, and his theme actually sounds like something you'd expect to hear in "Slender":

The scariest boss to me was fighting Scarecrow in Batman: Arkham Asylum, if you were caught in his gaze then he would kill you with just one hand. The boss fight is easy to me though.

It has to be said. Giygas from Mother 2. I don't really know what else I can say... The atmosphere is simply bone chilling and this sort of boss being in this game is a bit shocking, really. Somehow, we went from a group of cultists that want to turn everything purple to... that!

 

The inspiration for this boss is also rather creepy... I'll let you read that on your own later if you choose to do so.

Silent Hill 2, Pyramid Head.  This monster has been stalking you around all game.  You are being chased constantly by this monster.  You've witnessed him stab someone in front of you.  Then around the end of the game, you have to fight two of these monstrous foes.

 

While the fight itself isn't something to write home about, Pyramid head is easily a scary boss.

I want to say Amnion from Silent Hill Homecoming...or any boss from that game, rather.

 

I think they did a nice job on the monster designs this time around, and the final boss (Amnion) was pretty disturbing.

This guy from Twilight Princess, if mini-bosses count. Besides from having a generic name (Death Sword), and having a very easy fight, he was terrifying. That face, man.

 

Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid also looked creepy, but I liked his "powers", and thought they were pretty funny.

The wall of flesh is really really horrible in terraria. You have to keep moving or you die, if you fall in the lava you die and its an obstacle course to keep moving while also shooting the wall and dodging objects.

@ Edible Man - Speaking of "TLOZ: TP," you know those early segments where you have to collect those Tears Of Light? Evidently, Nintendo decided to make you WORK for the very last one:

A truly scary looking boss hmm would go with Adam the Clown Dead Rising I'm not scared of clowns but come on

 

As for scary game play wise, Before they added level up to 100 on Final Fanasty XI online there was a Notorious Monster you could spawn named Pandamonium Warden, if you didnt know how to beat him you lost, one group fought him for 18 hours just to wipe and even made national news somewhat by how hard the boss was to beat. This thing along with its accompanying level from Pikmin 2 freaked me out.

 

 

 

It's called the Waterwraith and it will attempt to murder all of your Pikmin with its rollers as you try to collect treasure, Your ship cannot even detect it and concludes its physical form is anchored in another dimension. When you kill him he just disappears and does not leave a spirit like other enemies.

 

Just imagine gong through the level along with the following music and having it suddenly appear out of nowhere and start chasing you.

 

 

It took courage to make it through that.

That whole game was creepy as hell, but add deranged child-like psycho to giant RE monster and it usually had me running out of the room. Mendez was pretty horrifying too. >.<

I see some pretty decent grotesque horrors, but what this thread needs is some terror with class. Panache, one might even say. For that sort of pants pooping action, there is only character I can think of, and really, only one.

Verdugo in Resident Evil 4 is pretty scary, whoever says RE4 isn't a horror game probably haven't fought him yet.

Lisa Trevor in REmake is also the stuff of nightmares, I just hate that circular room you have to backtrack through that she can chase you in...

Oh and Gigginox in Monster Hunter. I mean, I've fought it many times in 2 games now and can kill it pretty easily, the way it lays eggs and roars constantly is still slightly terrifying to me. Plus, just look at it, freakin' hookworm dragon...
