It was totally horrible in my opinion,..yet I watched it like 10 times. Voluntarily so perhaps I actually do like it and I'm lying to myself. Who knows?

That's not fair.  It's extremely well made and full of energy, , and I think there can be artistic value in that. 

 

Artistry isn't in the subject matter, but in the style and talent the creator brings to it, IMO.

I honestly think when I saw it, the Pinkie we saw does not do any of those gruesome acts to her friends. That was why I did not like Smile HD that much. The music was awesome though.

 

With my imagination, I thought that Pinkie was a pseudo robot.

The video was very well animated, and the remix was nice too. Lots of work was put into this video. Also, the clip art for it, although a troll, is one of the cutest things ever.

Speaking as someone who despises the high levels of pointless grimdark in this dandom, I 'tolerated' it more than any grimdark fanfic, and by extension Cupcakes HD which was based off the most notorious of those fanfics. At least with this, it was animated and done -so- over the top, that to me it felt like it was self-parodying the grimdark themes in the fandom, than anything. Even down to the 'Pinkie killing all her friends' bit xP

I really despise such horrible fanfics/fan videos such as Rainbow Factory, Smile, Cupcakes etc.. I have never watched them, and never will! I really do not understand how some people can enjoy making something like that.  I do admit,  I enjoy the song Rainbow Factory, but that is it! Aren't Bronies supposed to be about love and tolerance, not senseless violence, killing and gore?

Totally with you Scarlet. Why take cute ponies and put them in that situation just for entertainment. Makes me think that MasterDavie's just a senseless person, then again can't judge 'cause God knows his heart.

Catchy song, but I think it's horrible. I think they were blatantly trying to mentally scar as many kids as possible. I started it thinking that it was gonna be like the original. Even in the first couple of seconds, I didn't think anything was gonna happen, because even though the disclaimer looked creepy, I read it, and the description seemed legit.

 

I once thought that stuff like this should be protected, because nobody's creativity should be denied. But I think MLP fan content (and any fan content based off kid's shows) should always be kid friendly. I am against all clop and gore pics/videos, because no matter what, at the end of the day, countless kids are gonna end up seeing it for one reason or another. Kids should always be considered first, over individual creative expression, because one's expression can mentally scar many kids. Even if there's a warning, because kids will ignore it, and parents for the most part are slacking in their responsibility. Just because there are irresponsible parents, doesn't mean that their kids should end up suffering.

 

Although I admit that if it's in fanfic form, it's perfectly ok. And even the images/video are ok if they are kept under tight lock and key from kids. But currently, there is no way to ensure that, unless they do what adult sites do and require a credit card number to make absolutely sure that little kids can't access that stuff.
