Sadly there here to stay.  I'm not happy about it either.

 

I saw the other snips and snails thread and for those who don't out right hate them,

i didn't see a single soul say "they liked them."

Quotes aside, a character cannot really be 'broken'. If people tried to 'fix' them, they would not be Snips and Snails anymore. Their 'brokenness' is what makes them themselves. It's their defining character trait.

Yeah they are a bit stale. They're basically the Dumb and Dumber of the show.

Yeah, I definitely agree with that. Besides we have seen many morals in the show, maybe maturity can be shown by making them more serious, mature, and smart.

I would love if Snips and Snails turn out to be badasses in one episode. Snips can fire off cutting beams and Snails can summon snails. It would involve the CMC attempting to expose them and the moral would be that hiding your talents for the sake of keeping up an image is not good. I know it would be reiterating "Boast Busters", but I want to forget that episode anyway

Simply you have to make them less stupid if you want people to not hate them.

I would fine with them if they were given a little more intelligence and were just goofy oddballs with a tendency not to think things all the way through and were foolish and clumsy but be able to create basic plans for things like pulling pranks or any sort of way to show that they can show the ability to think but still not have intelligence but their strong suits.

He's on the good side, but he's still him.  If he doesn't actively use his magic to wreck shop, i'm hopping the alternative is he's verbally scathing to make up for the damage he won't physically do.  there's no way he's gonna be all support and friend ship lol.

Snips and snails are sterotypes and that can cause a problem with there character. A solution could be to give theam a back story beyond there sterotypes to give theam some needed depth.

heh no.  Rainbow is my least favorite.  Of the main six flutter shy, fallowed by twilight, fallowed by pinkie, fallowed rarity, fallowed by apple jack (you get the idea).  I've learned to see rainbows place.  She has golden moments.

 

i'm proud to say I haven't given sponge bob to much thought.  I've seen it, i've fun watching it for 5 mins at a time.

And Patrick would be a huge step up for snips or snails.

 

Think about that for a moment lol.

I don't hate dumb characters.

 

Misa misa from death note, Or matsuda are dumb characters and they hold a dear place in my heart ^^.  Their dumb in a overly serious setting.  Matsuda is his shows pinkie.

 

Maybe that's it?  Dropping snips and snails into situations that are overly serious, to dry?

But like we already doing the job of comic foil and she does a bad ass job of doing it.

I don't really like those two. They're idiots. And let's face it, not all guys are that dumb all the time.   I guess the best way to fix them would be to have them win a trip around Equestria that makes them never return to the show again. That would be nice.

They can be funny sometimes I will admit, but they can also be overly obnoxious which is the flaw of the character which leads to them being very unlikable. Hopefully they can do something about them.Maybe make them hang out with Spike because he needs more guy friends and it would be interesting character interaction.

J/k, I actually wouldn't change a thing about them. There's plenty of competent stallions in the series (Shining Armor, Big Mac, Royal Gaurds, Mr. Cake). Let them be the comic relief.
