I personally prefer different electronic genres like House, Dubstep, and Techno.

My favorite artist is Skrillex.

I honestly don't care if people don't classify his "Brostep" style as music.

His songs just sound really good to me.

My favorite song by him is "WEEKENDS!!!".

So do you love electronic music?

Who's your favorite artist?

What's your favorite song?

Electronic music tends to be my favourite. Not sure why, but I find it can soothe me or pump me up whenever I require it to.
Here's one of my all time favourite songs from Deadmau5

Although i am more of a glitch hop supporter with parties such as pegboard and the nerds and robot band coming up, i don't have anything against bro step. Skrillex isn't my favorite but i like some of this songs.

I'm not "down" with what the kids are listening to these days. If, by electronic, you mean electric guitars and keyboards, then yes. I am a metal head. Specifically, European fantasy metal. I don't like American metal. It's garbage.

It seems to me that electronic (We used to call it techno. Is that still used?) is a dime per dozen, meaning that people can just remix the same basic notes and crank out a hundred songs that are all basically the same. It's really easy to make and doesn't require much talent. Learning to play a guitar or piano, or a classical instrument for that matter, requires talent.

On the other hand, I don't listen to it so I don't know what the hell I'm talking about and my opinion isn't valid. There, I said it so you don't have to. So does it require talent? Maybe a different kind of talent? Do there exits Mozarts and Beethovens of modern music? Seems to me that writing a symphony requires a lot more work and talent than playing around with wave forms on a computer.

Yup.

I listen to a lot of Synthpop, New Wave, Futurpop, EBM, Aggrotech etc.

I also like more EDMish stuff like Glitch Hop, Electro House, Complextro, Trance, and that sorta stuff.

Chip Tune is also pretty cool.

Favourite artist/band is really hard to choose, but I haven't been able to stop listening to Mr. Kitty in recent months. He makes some incredible Synthpop.

Just my opinion. I really like his mix of genres on Recess. Trap, brostep, chill. It's pretty good. I still like oldie Skrillex a bit but Recess is great.

It's alright.^^ Opinions are fine with me. Anyways, I do recommend that everyone should go deeper in the rabbit hole and find other artists, there's more to Electronica than wubs. :P

Techno is a specific genre of electronic music.

Also, comparing the talent of producers and technicians to the talent of musicians doesn't really work. It's like comparing an oil painter to a sculpture, there's a lot of overlapping fundamentals and theories, but you can't really say that one requires less talent or hard work than the other. Apples and oranges.

You're right when you say that someone can just "remix the same basic notes and crank out a hundred songs". But those songs are going to suck. A guitarist can just record themselves playing the same basic power chords and produce a hundred songs. Those songs are also going to suck.

Furthermore, there's loads of different ways of producing electronic music. Some use software, some use hardware, others use instruments.
