music Favorite Led Zeppelin song?

What's your favorite Zep song and why?

Mine's gotta be "Rock And Roll". I just love the tune and the beat. Gets ya going.

I am a HUGE Zep fan. My high school Social Studies I teacher found out I liked LZ when I wore a 1979 tour shirt to school in the first week of school. I've devised quizzes for him that consist of writing lyrics from an oddball LZ song on a sticky note and leaving them on his desk. He has until the end of fourth block to figure out the song. He's a big fan of Zep himself. I stump him with the notes five out of seven days each week.

So, I wanna hear from you bronies and pegasisters (Or whatever you prefer, ma'ams), what's your favorite Led Zeppelin song?

These two songs right here man.

Led Zeppelin is one of those bands in which their songs are out of this world nothing like em.

They were outstanding.

Favorite album is Houses of the Holy by them.

Yes, indeed. I love both of those. Led Zeppelin is easily my favorite band. Most kids of today have no idea what music is. I, being the awesome fifteen year old I am, was born and raised into rock and I am proud of it. Another favorite of mine has to be either Dancing Days or D'yer Mak'er.

Indeed, it is a great album. I love meeting new people here, and what better ways to meet than through some Zep?

Top favorites, some of them stereotypical.

Stairway to Heaven- Love the slow buildup, the power behind the drums and the intense grab of the Guitar

When the Levee Breaks- Love the dirty, southern sound to it. The Harmonica is beautiful and the guitar is outstanding.

Over the Hills and Far Away- Love the general feel of the song.

Babe I'm Gonna Leave You- Starts out slow, but has an epic feel to it when the drums kick in.

Houses of the Holy- The sound of Plant's voice mixed with the unique sound of the guitar and the rhythm make me just fall in love.

Ramble on- For the acoustics and the Story (Fan of Tolkien)

D'yer Mak'er- Love the Reggae sound of it

And those are my favorites. I like all Led Zeppelin in general but those songs are probably my favorites.

@@~The Doctor~, I see, a fan of Tolkien! And a Whovian! SWEET! I take it that Tom Baker is your favorite doctor? If so, I've got something to make the Jelly Baby Doctor jelly.

I'm really not a big Led Zeppelin fan, but ironically I love Stairway to Heaven. Probably mainly because of its folksy feel.

Stairway is #1, but that's sincere. That song is a masterpiece.

I also like Ramble On, Kashmir, Communication Breakdown, and Whole Lotta Love.

If you're going to twist my arm, I'm gonna have to go with Achilles' Last Stand, especially this live rendition from the Knebworth festival of 1979.
Undoubtedly Jimmurs' crowning achievement as a guitarist and a composer.

  • 3 months later...

I'm tempted to say "Battle for Evermore", I love the acoustic instruments and I love the imagery (being Tolkien Inspired helps).

But I'm gonna have to go with "Immigrant Song", it's the type of song that just grabs ya and won't let go. Also, once again the images the band conjures in your mind with those lyrics; I can just feel a cold Icelandic gust of wind when hearing it.

I know there's a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees.
I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still receive your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?
