They really were what sparked the insanity of March Madness (I only caught the last couple days of it boy did it get messy!)

To be fair, as someone who was in the middle of the March Madness incident, it was the Nazi Rarity thing that led to that point.

 

Just thought I'd point that out, because the background pony thing was the only thing that got it there - nonetheless, if the March Madness Tourney could be ruined by one person deciding to pull that nonsense, the same could go here - and no one wants that

I know we chatted about candor etc earlier, but honestly, we've been pretty strict about the "background pony" comments thus far. They really were what sparked the insanity of March Madness (I only caught the last couple days of it boy did it get messy!)

 

This also applies to you @PokeBolter for the "mane 6 are stupid" comment earlier, and ANYPONY else that we may have missed up to this point.

 

Seeing as this has sparked a number of responses, I will remind everypony of the rules set by @Sterling Crimson in the OP:

I don't mean to be a killjoy, but this is a friendly tournament and there is no place for "defamation of any kind" or "[any]thing related to a pony being bad or a pony being the worst," We don't like reporting to mods, so please, keep comments positively aimed and supportive.

Nothing in the world is more immature than sincerely arguing over fictional characters. Pretending to argue, sure, but when people can't tell the difference, and you have to make all these rules to prevent flame wars...

 

I dunno, I just hate being censored and being told what I can or cannot say.

 

I'm opinionated, sure, but I like to consider myself a person who knows how to mind their P's and Q's, but this is ridiculous.

 

I love all of MLP.

I think I missed the pages that were the most prominent in that regard. Sterling and I talked about the background pony comments before we got this thing going and knew it was a big factor so we agreed we'd not tolerate it.

Anyway, about the censorship--the reasons have already been explained above, and there will always be rules on forums, and since nopony likes reading the OP, they miss that section I shared before. It may be ridiculous to you, but we have good reason. I'm sorry that restricting everypony to positivity and friendliness in this thread makes you feel suppressed.

Applejack vs Sweetie Belle eh... well, we all knew this tourney would eventually come to cruel choices like this for all of us.

I love both these characters equally for the most part... Sweetie seems to have the least votes atm though, so I guess I'm supporting her for now. But no matter which one wins, I will be happy, but I will also be sad... anyway, all I can really say is good luck to both!

No surprise that Princess Luna won her matchup against Zecora, and not a surprise that Applejack is beating out Sweetie Belle, too.

 

I had to side with the majority again, as I voted for Applejack. Not that I dislike Sweetie, but like I keep saying, it's hard to vote against the Mane 6, and I definitely won't be surprised if one of them ends up winning the whole thing.

Glad to wake up and see Applejack widening her lead; and although things got a little heated while I was gone; I'm also glad that things appear to have gotten back on track as a flame war and hurt feelings would be far worse than even my favorite pony being eliminated... With that in mind; I'm gonna take a moment to praise my competitor; while I voted Applejack and will vote for her every time she's up; it doesn't mean I don't love Sweetie Belle as well. Ok ok am sorry but tell me why would you respect someone who disrespect someone you love? We, ALL of us here we love a specific pony and if one of those ponies got insulted what will happen? A war will happen and i tried being reasonable with him yet he still wanted to call applejack a"background pony" so that's why i used "you mad brah?" on top of that i told him this is a friendly competition yet still....... Am gonna say a quote that we (arabs) use " don't try to argue with an idiot" also thanks to lightning or lightwing because he showed me the errors of my ways

Glad to hear! I understand that when someone attacks a character you care for,you don't like to be faulted for trying to attack back because you where just defending the honor of said character,tho sometimes its best just to let bygones by bygones.
