Wow the vote difference for Sweetie the way it is right now is 92 with the 83 she had from before it's going to be a 175 vote difference and that's 51 above anybody else and nobody else left before we get into the 3rd round was close to her 83 in the first round.

 

I know that it doesn't really count for anything accept in the case of a tie, but that is just scary powerful. Sweetie doesn't just out cute her opponents she out right destroys them with it.

I was expecting at least one close match today, but I didn't get any unfortunately. Comfortable wins for Sweetie Belle and Daring Do propel them to 1st place in their group. Rarity also has a very comfortable win over Cheerilee today.

They're not my absolute favoritest characters, but I'm pulling for Spike and Apple Bloom this round. There seems to be a common theme of characters who are severely hyped up by the fandom taking out or narrowly losing to characters with a lot more substance to them, and I can't say I'm happy about it.

Obviously I am all for Applejack's adorable little sister and Twilight's #1 assistant. A vote for Trixie is a vote for fraudulence and a vote for Vinyl is a vote for annoying music. :okiedokielokie:

 

Gilda, Night Light, Opal, Filthy Rich, Thunderlane, and Pina Colada will also get my vote. And although I didn't post anything for the last round, I DID manage to submit votes for both Rarity and Sweetie Belle. Sorry Cheerilee.

I can't believe Applebloom and Spike are actually standing a chance, very happy to see that! Really hope they can beat out 2 of the fandom's most overhyped characters. Trixie I don't care much for, Magic Duel was a fantastic episode sure but AB is just a better character in general. And Vinyl, it's the fanon/idea of her that the fandom likes so much really, and I get that really, but Spike is just so underrated despite being a main character that I gotta support him here.

Also, kinda weird that Starswirl is beating out Opal. I mean, with Starswirl we've only ever heard the guy's name a couple of times so far, and Opal may not be the best pet but at least she's not as evil as Angel Bunny, plus she's actually a character- not really sure why Starswirl is in this tourney at all honestly...

EDIT: After minutes of thinking I still have a very hard time choosing between Pinkie and Octavia... they are both my favorites, while Pinkie is my 2nd favorite Mane 6 pony, Octavia ties for first place on Background pony with Vinyl as the ultimate ship for me... The fact that finally made me decide for Octavia is because her design reminds me of my first love who resembles her quite a bit.

 

Oh and to get some fighting going on: This is for the Pinkie Pie voters (Pinkie having a lot of propaganda lately...)

Apple Bloom vs Trixie was a tough one for me... AB is my least favorite CMC, but even so, I still love her very much. On the other hand, Trixie is a character that just fascinates me. I like speculating about her origins/childhood and why she developed her attention-seeking attitude. In the end, I voted for Apple Bloom, just because.

 

'Cause when the mood gets exciting, when everypony's kung fu fighting.

Oh, and Spike vs Vinyl, though very interesting, was a no-brainer for me personally (I voted for Spike). I think Spike is somewhat under-appreciated, and besides, I'm not that invested into background ponies anyway.
