movies/tv So who is into Top Gear?

So who is into Top Gear? I am talking about the Epic British version, not the Mediocre American version.

Don't get me wrong, the American version is decent, but failed attempts at humor, very scripted feeling, and cheap poorly executed rip-offs of episodes from the UK leave allot to be desired. But I do feel there are a good few episodes that can hold a candle to the British version.

Top Gear UK has to be the best TV show ever.

If you haven't watched it, why not? Because you don't like cars? You don't need to like cars to enjoy this show, the crazy antics of the 3 best TV hosts ever are more than enough to keep you entertained.

If you haven't ever watched it, watch this segment.

So if you into it, let's talk about it!

I've heard of Top Gear, so thanks to this I'm totally going to check it out since it has cars in it. :)

You won't be disappointed. If you have Netflix, they have Seasons 2-18. They are up to Season 20 now, and Season 21 will be starting early next month. I wouldn't really recommend watching Season 1, it was rather boring, and there was no James May, just some fat guy who gave boring car advice.

My favorite type of episodes have to be the ones with "Cheap Car Challenges", and my all time Favorite episode is the American Cheap Car Roadtrip where they travel acrossed the south from Miami Florida to New Orleans in cars they bought for $1k.

Well, I would not say it is the best TV show ever, however it is one of my favorites.

It's not about the cars, really. It is about the laughs. The cars are merely a medium through which laughs may be delivered.

OMFG I LOVE THAT BUCKING SHOW, I never saw the US version but I can imagine how much it sucks... I love cars.

U.S version is not TOO bad, just mediocre compared to the British original. You can't watch it like it is Top Gear, you have to watch it as a completely different show. There are a handful of pretty damn good episodes, one of my favorites being the American Truck challenge where they travel acrossed the wilderness in cheap old trucks.

Awesome. You can also get the episodes here in torrents. www.finalgear.com They always have the latest episodes only a couple hours after they air.

Top gear is awesome. If I remember correctly it is the most viewed show in the world (around 250 - 300 million viewers).

The challenges are by far the best part of the show, i think my second favorite part would be the news ( Good news! The Dacia Sandero! )

Ponified!!!!! Everything need to be ponified!!!

Jeremy's cutie mark simply shouts "MOAR POWER" lol.

This has to be one of my favorite shows as for today. It's enough for me to watch the caravan episode to nearly cry laughing. This show is so insane that it sometimes hurts.

Yup, along with Richard Hammond the Pikey (Pie + Key), and James May as Captain Slow (Turtle)

Definitely one of my favorite shows. I actually end up watching the US version, though. Since you can never tell when the UK version is on.

And to say Top Gear US is bad is a stretch. While it isn't absolutely amazing, it's definitely in the good category. I think one of the biggest negatives for the show is the fact that Clarkson & Co. can be completely honest, while the US version with Foust & Co. is on History, and History is funded through provided through the private sector. Which means there can be influence by the car companies themselves, and it definitely has showed before.

I love Top Gear, though it doesn't air over here across the pond.(at least we get Doctor Who). I would watch it more if it was aired on TV here more. The American Top Gear sucks.

My fave bits have got to be the Reliant Robin and the Toyota Hilux.

I love the show too.  Just finished the latest three seasons on Netflix.  I went back and watched season 2 and I'm on season 3 now.  It's strange to see how young they are at the beginning after watching the recent ones.  Also, it was interesting to see James' first episode with season 2.

Their challenges and builds are the best part.  I almost couldn't breathe when I watched them build a simplified car for the elderly...

I enjoy the UK version much more than the American one. My personal favorite part are the challenges. There is also man-lab which is partially related to Topgear since it's made and ran by James May.

I freaking love Top Gear. BBC version, of course. The American version freaking sucks. It's garbage compared to the BBC version.

My favorite episodes are the specials. The American and Bolivia specials are my two favorites by a long shot.

And this. This is one of my favorite moments ever from the series

Hay yeah!

Love Top Gear! :D

Unfortunately for me, only place to see it is on YouTube :(

You could watch it on Netflix! I think they have Series 2 - 20-something. And in HD (where HD episodes are available because, obviously, the show didn't start out in HD)

I love Top Gear, I was even into the old Top Gear as a kid since I've always been a big petrol head.

Current Top Gear is lots of fun, and Jezza, Slow and Hamster have great chemistry. Can't wait till the new series :)

I love the show, but that seems to be the general feeling of this thread. But then who would post just to sai it's meh? It's fun to watch their flagrant disregard for expensive cars. You asked for us to do some tests on a car? How about the newest Rolls Royce? I love how a lot of the humor comes from what ridiculousness they can say with a straight face. I think my favorite episode was when Jeremy tried to make the smallest legal car. But I also like the small bits when they take the stig outside the racing track and into the real world.

I'm sure I could get into it if I really wanted to. I'm not really into cars and motor vehicles that much to watch a show about them, but I've seen a few episodes. I also really love the theme song.
