technology ponies: iOS or Android?

Just wondering what everypony here uses, a iPhone or Android phone and why do you like it or dislike it?

Now for just a bit of my story.

About 2 years ago, I was fed up with my iPhone 4. I saw a lot of friends from school get Android phones and I really liked them. Specifically, I really liked the customization you could do to the phone to make it YOUR phone.

So from then on i wanted an Android phone so bad.

Long story short, a little after that my iPhone got stolen

I figured it'd be a good time to "upgrade" (as i thought) to an android phone. I have AT&T and at that time they just started getting their LTE network set up, So i went with the Galaxy S II Skyrocket. great phone.

Fast foward about another year, and I bought an unlocked Android phone, the nexus 4. The interest in the nexus comes as when I had the skyrocket, I was increasingly rooting my phone (modifying the software) and applying custom tweaks, much like jailbreaking on the iphone. And the nexus devices being stock android and an unlocked bootloader were pretty much made for hacking it and customizing it how u wanted it.

But to this day, I have many lock ups/ freezes, battery drain issues (a custom ROM does help), and just wierd little bugs and inconsistencies that makes me miss my iPhone. I hated my iPhone when I had it, but now the same reason I didn't like iPhones are the reason I want to go back, its simple, it just works, sure theres not many customization options, but its realible and consistent.

Another reason I want to switch to the iPhone is I found instagram and personally (as in, personal use, not MLP related) use it very frequently, so I want to get  more into mobile photography, and it seems like iPhone apps and the iPhones camera in general (newer iPhones obv) are pretty damn great cameras.

TL;DR: iOS or Android and why?

I like using iOS, mainly because the primary use for my iPhone is to listen to music and i like the iTunes interface, plus i've spent around £800 on iTunes now, so i can't really abandon it.

That being said, i dont like Apple, bringing out new phones every year and severely over-pricing them is just infuriating, by the time i can afford to buy a new iPhone, the latest one is announced.

Owning both an Android and iOS device I don't really have a favourite. Android devices tend to have less restrictions but less apps. Whereas iOS devices run almost perfectly and have loads of stuff to use on them.

Android. Pretty creepy company behind it, but it has less restrictions. The one thing that really makes me angry is when I need to fix a device for family and friends that have hidden any remotely useful advanced options. Because apparently force quitting an app is such a freaking advanced task (but I digress...)

Apple doesn't play too nicely with Linux either, that's my second reason for Android.
