Does Luna Have Her Own Winter Moon Celebration?

Celestia has the summer sun celebration, taking place on the longest day of the year, the summer solstice. By extension, do you think Luna has her own winter moon celebration, taking place during the winter solstice, the longest night of the year? What do you think happens during that event? Do you think the show will ever address this?

Personally I think the writers have become a little bit lackadaisical with her character. She has quickly added into a severely background pony. It's almost as if they feel like her character was addressed enough in Luna eclipsed and now they kind of just shove her in all the royal scenes with he sister. The fact that we are now in season four and halfway through, and they haven't given her some serious screen time, I don't think they are going to address things like that.

I don't think the show will address it just yet, I think that she should have a celebration as well.

That would be pretty nice, but I don't think it would ever be incorporated into the show. If anyone needs an episode dedicated to her though, it's Celestia.

I think your right. We can defiantly add her to the list of ponies that need dedicatory episodes. I think they are doing a good job incorporating characters like discord more, but they need to get on the ball with all the other characters that need the spotlight. I think they should do a day in the life of the royal sisters episode.

Agreed. Although they had a comic issue dedicated to them which was apparently quite good.

I've been thinking of getting them myself - they're only $2 a pop on Itunes. But in any case, I still stand by the royal sisters needing more screen time. I think a good episode would be them somehow having to live a completely normal (i.e civilian) life for a week or something.

Yeah something like that. Or even something as simple as showing what it is that they do all day. Or maybe an episode where some kind of comedic disaster happens snd they have to fix it. Like maybe a group of wild animals or parasprites get loose in the castle and they have to fix it. Something funny.

The winter solstice doesn't have anything to do with the moon. The moon can be in any phase at that time. If Luna had her own holiday it would probably have something to do with the full moon. But now she does have Nightmare Night.

I agree. It's a nice idea and I'm always happy to see more of her, but Nightmare is now her event I guess.

As much as I would like to see Luna have her own Winter Solstice celebration, I doubt it would happen. After being away for 1000 years, it is unlikely that a celebration dedicated to her would be entrenched in tradition. There is also the point that the Summer Sun celebration originated to commemorate the sealing away of Nightmare Moon. It may have been changed to celebrate the royal sisters re-uniting, but there is no event in place for Luna. For now her holiday is Nightmare Night, but it would be interesting to have a Winter Solstice Celebration episode, preferably around the same time as the solstice.

I'm betting that one time, she had a Winter Moon Festival, but what with the banishment and all, it was probably discontinued.  Maybe now that she's back they'll start it up again.

If there is a chance that Luna would get her own celebration just as Celestia did, I would say that she deserves it as she and Celestia would need more time in the spotlight with episodes for them individually/together.

 

If it is brought to a halt after she was banished to the moon, maybe there is a chance that somepony will find out about it and thus, bring it back out into the open in the modern Equestria in Luna's name and actual honor. Nightmare Night is a great celebration for her but the first time she attended, I've mixed feelings about it thanks to all of Ponyville, especially Pinkie Pie, who stated the whole charade that made her into a laughing stock of a princess.
