What flicks do you feel are extremely underrated?

Personally, I feel that Star Trek: The Motion Picture is severely underrated

This is one of my all-time favourite movies, yet most people hate it. My biggest question is, why all the hate? Its an awesome movie and my favourite Trek film. Just as the poster says, there is no comparison!

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was also really good, but underrated

This is my personal favourite from 2013. I thought it was amazing! Again, why all the hate?

As the worlds's biggest Star Trek fan, I completely agree with UberAntics that the first Star Trek film is never given the credit it deserves. I'd also add The Boondock Saints, Rent (a lot of people consider it to be bad compared to the stage version, but I liked it), and Back to the Future III.

I think Cloud Atlas is an extremely underrated movie:

I found it to be fantastic and I just can't understand why it get's so much hate. This is the only one I can think of right now.

I think alot of people hated on the movie because in todays entertainment media most has been watered down not requiring one to think to understand the plot or the story. I watched Cloud Atlas with 5 other people and I was riveted the whole time while most fell asleep by the end.

Imho The Shawshank Redemption is an underrated movie. It didn't got any Academy Awards :o .

Undisputed III: Redemption - also underrated. Low bugget movie, but one of the best fight movie I've seen :3 . I think also Limitless is great movie and it didn't got any awards at all  >_> .

All of the SAW movies.

Sure, they are full of gore but I don't mind it. The series started to decline after the 4th movie but the latter ones are still entertaining. I really enjoy the series-long story (especially the first 4 movies),. In fact the first SAW is one of my favorite movies ever

(useless attempt at reviving this topic)

I also think that Superman Returns and First Blood: Part 2 are both criminally underrated films. Superman Returns is just pure legend and First Blood: Part 2 is my personal favourite Rambo flick

Lucky Number Slevin!! If you haven't seen it, go watch it! It's about this one guy who gets caught up between these two crime bosses, and he's put in a really sticky situation with what to do to get out of the mess he's in. Just know that it has an engaging storyline (albeit somewhat of a confusing one too in the beginning/middle), great dialogue, and pretty much gives you exactly what you want to see from a smart thriller movie. I consider it underrated due to it being somewhat of an indie title, even though most of the people I know who've seen it think it's awesome.

Here's a link to the movie's IMDb page so you can read about it (but make sure not to read too much :P since it's better not knowing some things going in of course): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425210/

The messenger: The story of Joan of Arc.

For me, it's a perfect movie.

The Adventures of Tom Thumb and Thumbelina (featuring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Elijah Wood; villain is entertaining in my opinion), A Monster in Paris (stay for the songs!), The Pebble and the Penguin, The Road to El Dorado (hilarious), The Quest for Camelot, Osmosis Jones, and Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas (one of my favs ^.^).

Some are more underrated than others.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park. It's probably one of the best sequels ever made, yet nobody can get over a 5 second scene where Kelly kicks s Raptor through a window where it's impaled onto a loose piece of metal.

Godzilla 1998. Everybody is hung up on the fact that Godzilla doesn't look like Godzilla and can't enjoy the movie for what it is: a good old, 1950s style creature feature.

Iron Giant. Still sad that movie never did that well

I am with you on this post and now that I saw that name it's bringing back a lot of memories of when I was little and saw that movie.
