sad The last tree standing

Strength.
The strong survive, they say.
But what if the strong, didn't deserve to survive.
What if, the strong, deserved to perish, with the weak...

Leaves fall. All around this farm, the trees smoke, and the leaves fall. This once great land, turned to ash and despair. They trusted me. They needed me. Now, they starved. They all were in pain. The young ones crying in pain from their empty stomachs. The elders, already dead in the struggles to find food in the Everfree. But me. I was their last hope. I was all that stood between them and destruction. But I failed. I have killed so many by my neglect. If only I had worked a little harder. If only I had prepared. But the ground. Now it was black like the night sky. A crash. I look to the sound, and see that Canterlot, has fallen off the mountain. Our leader, our light in the darkness, has been extinguished. Now, we are alone. I can see now. The black clouds gathering in the west. The swarm of changelings coming in the east. The floating bits of houses in the north. And the ever consuming darkness in the south. Agenst all odds, we had survived. And only because of the elements. But now. All of my friends were dead. They were dead by my hooves. Their stomachs empty as they struggled to survive. But now, it was just me. And I would be sure as heck, that I would not die by those evil clutches. I wanted to see them one more time, my friends. But fate decided to cheat me.
The coil tightens. I jump. a crack. Silence...

Strength.
The strong should protect the weak.
But the strong. Fail.

The strong, don't deserve to protect the weak.

I didn't deserve. To try.

P.S. If you read the story I wrote a while back "Regret" You will recognize the type of writing Im using here. This will be a series, all of the mane six will be included in the series. So if you like, comment and tell me, and tell me who I should write about in the third installment. Thanks!

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age.”

Yeah, sorry it posted twice, my computer lagged and decided to post twice. THis is supposed to be like a view of the end of equestria from the eyes of one of the mane six, in this case Apple Jack. I planned on doing a series of these, as I already have one for Rainbow Dash Titled "Regret"
