Bronies act like real christians should

So I recently went on to youtube, to "Its a long way to equestria"

and found this:

This song reminds me, that no matter how deep the darkness I face, there is always a light. Sure it may be faint, nothing more than a pinpoint in the night, but its there none the less! And to those of you who don't like it, I'm sorry to insert something like "Religion" in a rant...but this fandom...their morals...the way a "true" brony acts...they define a true Christian, the way God wants us to be!...not the perfect "never messed up and is SOOO religious" person. Just a person that tries to do the right thing! Alright bronies! for them! for this world! for the good of all! FOR EQUESTRIA! LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE! Even if you dont beleve in a God...MAKE THIS WORLD WORTH SOMETHING!

And this guy is absolutely right, I noticed that we bronies act like christians should act and I find that amazing, I really want this whole "brony" thing to go on for a long time and make a good example/role model to other people.

No matter if you believe in god or not, abide by the creed!

My fellow members of the herd,
I hope you all will hear my word.

You must not argue, fight, or hate,
But always love and tolerate.

Though some may seek to spread abuse,
For us such insults are no use.

Through all my pain, and loss, and strife,
My brony friends are my friends for life

<Insert wacky conspiracy theory about how MLP and bronydom is a secret plot by the government and/or television companies to convert more people to Christianity by first making them act before introducing them to the ways of God here>

Well, I drink, smoke cigarettes, I'm arrogant, a huge asshole, and I don't give a fuck about most things.  If this is true Christianity, sign me up.  I hear they drink wine during church.

You are absolutely right. Bronies do act like what Christians should act. Sadly, in this world, we as Christians tend to be hypocritical at times. We do our thing in church, but when we go back out there, we act like crazy people. I am a brony, and a Christian, but will never become perfect, because no one can become perfect. However, just like this guy said, amidst the dark world, there is a light. We may be a long way from heaven, but we as Christians should let our lights shine to provide hope in this dark world.

I like how they imply that the idea of a "true" brony fits into a single definition and type of person like a sheep in the herd. I'm all for good morals (lord knows, I don't have any) but individuality is important and there are a lot of bronies who are so completely and utterly into the series they blow away most of the bronies that actually fit into the "true brony" definition.

Hm? Oh! Don't mind me, just rambling about things that are irrelevant and probably overgeneralizing and overcomplicating things.

I'm quite intrigued by how you decided to bring up a particularly relevant topic; hive-mindedness. A lot of people in this world suffer from this condition and are rendered unable to form a cohesive and coherent argument, spare a thought for the poor idiots who flock to one another like sheep when hate mongering occurs :3

I'm not a religious person, and really don't want to be. On that note, I personally see this as, "acting like a decent person should act". Of course, I also have a tendency to be an asshole...>.> but still...doesn't mean I'm not a nice guy :P

Of course, it would also help if alot of those religious zealots and the media would stop showcasing the crap, and making people think "it's cool to be a douchebag!"

Not all Christians act that way, and not all Bronies are friendly either.  I'm a Christian and I do try my best to do good, but of course I'm not perfect either.  On the other hand, there are people who are "Christians" and don't act like it at all.  Sometimes people are younger and need to grow up and learn what's right, but still not an excuse for them to do bad things.

For Bronies, there have actually been some really rude ones out there, and of course, I've met mostly nice ones (Thank God).  But yeah, just because they watch a show about friendship doesn't mean they'll always be nice.

More or less what I'm getting at, in kind of a facetious and potentially hostile-sounding way. The brony fandom in general has done a lot of this hive mind stuff. The whole "love and tolerance" thing is practically brainwashing with how serious some people take it...even if they aren't usually like that.

The fact that a "true" brony is defined not by the people in it but by an ideology that people incorporate into their lives after the fact seems kinda iffy to me.

Not really. Most christians I know are nice people and a few are pretty mean. (Though we have some extreme people in this world.)

Bronies are not a religion either,. If I am not mistaken we have a few christian bronies here as well.

Christians are not known for being especially nice or mean, same with non-religious bronies.

It all goes to the person and how they want to be to others.

Mlp and a lot of religions have a few simlar morals, it all goes to how the person wants to be.

I'll admit, I grew a little tactless and careless towards the end there. I was thinking of doing a full blown rant but I just got tired and went; "sod it, let's just try to be funny instead" :3

Ohh- thought you meant something else.

No- I  incorporate this love and tolerance into my daily life, most "real bronies" do.

Remember, just because someone says they are christian, does not mean they act it, A good person is always shown by the fruit of his/her works

I don't think anyone is criticizing you. People who see your topics are just voicing their opinions, even if that means repeating something everyone else has already said. Can't stop the opinion train, man!

Funny is good. Relieves tension!

...Unless someone can't take a joke. Then it just makes people sadface. :(

And just in case you don't now, Chosen Pony, even if it sounds like it I'm not attacking you in any of my posts. I have a tendency to sound like an asshole without trying and people take it as hostility when it's mostly being playful, even when I'm trying to make a point.

What is this? Are you telling us to stop discord and anger? Bah. If everyone'd follow that creed, the world would become so unbelievably dull and boring. >:נ

And besides, reading that creed just reminded me of that whole 'you shall be assimilated into the herd' meme-thing. Suddenly, you managed to make Christianity creepy for me.

I think you make a very good point.

That's all I've got to say.

Don't like hive-minds...

I think more people should try to adhere more to the whole Brony policy of 'Love and tolerance' the world would be a much nicer place that way.

There was a thread on this forum recently that asked "If Friendship Is Magic had strong Christian themes, would it still be popular?"

To this, I say: what do you mean "if"? Friendship Is Magic is, more or less, a Christian show. Implicitly, not explicitly. Think the implicit Christianity of "Lord Of The Rings" vs. the explicit "Chronicles Of Narnia".

The show basically explores how Twilight Sparkle and the rest of the Mane Six learn to become better friends by living by good values, and "good values" in Western countries is basically synonymous with what Christ taught in the Sermon On The Mount, as well as other Christian sources like the Ten Commandments.

Bottom line: if you really like what Friendship Is Magic teaches, you probably like Christianity too, even if you don't think you do.

M'kay, I'm laughing at this forever and laying my stock statement about how regardless of other aspects of your beliefs, you can still manage to be a total asshole and not worth someone's time.  This applies to all faiths, no faith, fandoms, what have you.
