Favorite superhero & villain...?

Deadpool is what's known as an anti-hero Evilshy. I prefer to think of him as one of the good guys, but since he actually kills people for money, no matter who it is, he fits equally into both sides. He usually either goes with whoever pays him more or whichever he thinks will be more fun.

Plus he's freaking hilarious, his game is the best game ever, he breaks the fourth wall, he reminds me of Pinkie Pie, and he's a brony.

Just as the title says.

I'm bored and want to know what are your favorite superheroes are. This isn't a "Who is better" topic, god knows I can't post that without this thing turning into a battleground for a flame war. You don't need to put a reason, you can just leave a name. You can put a reason it you wish, but that's your decision. Here's mine...

Superman. I like the guy because with all his power and unlimited strength, he chooses not to use all of it out of fear of killing others. Even those he has to fight. That is noble stuff. Yes I know Batman does the same thing. But Superman has been known to punch dimensions apart.

So what are yours? Unveil your favorites unto your friends.

Spider-Man.

Spider-Man was my childhood. It was one of the first TV shows I've watched, and I really like how I can relate to him. His alter-ego isn't some alien from outer space. He isn't a billionaire. He's an average teenager, with human problems, and a human life to live. That always made me like Spider-Man.

Heck, I'm so much of a fan that I have all the extended two disc combo films, have tickets for the extended midnight premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and bought every video game released after 2002 about him.

I like the Green Lantern the best; he's underrated with a badass character design.

Now, while he was always my favorite, I never knew too much about superheroes, I just picked him because underrated and badass.

It was multiplied by a billion when I saw this:

Nananananananana BATMAN!

NANANANNANANANANANANA BATMAN! <3

What they said. Mainly because, in one of the Justice League incarnations, Batman laid out contingency plans if any of the heroes went rouge, including himself.

Probably Batman. Because Batman doesn't have "super powers." Just gadgets. Which I think gives him some sense of believably as a super hero. In theory, he sounds like someone who could actually exist. As opposed to heros that can fly, transform into other things, have superhuman strength, etc. Also, Batman's is the only franchise that I've ever had any interest in. I was 4 when Batman Returns came out. I don't think I saw it in its entirety until I was considerably older, but I think I have memory of seeing bits and pieces of it. I think the '89 Batman film was also still popular at the time. I remember seeing that when I was in upper elementary school. Both films, especially Batman Returns, have a really dark tone to them. I think Batman, overall, tends to have a dark tone to it. Something about that dark way of framing things really peaked my interest when I was little. One of my favorite films from a young age was The Nightmare Before Christmas. So I think I was interested by it. For some time, I also used to watch Batman Beyond, which was another cool series. Just recently, I got into the new films, which I think are amazing. I'm not, like, a huge Batman fan, but looking back on it, it turns out that I watched a lot more Batman than I realized.

Also, Bruce Wayne is a fucking class act.

Squirrel Girl, because everybody loves the unsuspectful alpha with the control over everything squirrel. Oh, god it kills me that she wasn't in Marvel vs Capcom; can you imagine that? Amazing, I tell you.

Oh! bonus points for being voiced by Tara Strong on those rare ocassions...

Hawkeye/Clint Barton. Always has been, always will be. I prefer his Ultimates version.

If we're allowed to do favorite villain, then Crossbones/Brock Rumlow takes the cake. I swear, I'm like, the only person on the internet excited about the fact that he's a major antagonist in Captain America: The Winter Soldier,

Its so good to see so many different choices. And a few that weren't in any big movies. Brings tears of joy to my eye knowing that the not so well known will be remembered. So lets keep this thread going, and see what other answers there are. And as a bonus, here's another of my newer favorites.

The_Spectre-2.jpg

This is a new favorite of mine. The Spectre. I don't know much about him yet, but from what I do know intrigues me greatly.

Like most, I think I really enjoy Batman (and the companies able to use Batman in licensed works are very much aware of this) but I also somewhat like all the superheroes that are not immensely powered, and depend on witty use of their superpowers. The Flash, or Spiderman, for instance.

Superman's win/lose chart (and in fact many superheroes) are just incredibly boring. Does the opponent have kryptonite? If no, Superman wins by a slaught of punches. If yes, then someone else has to take action to save Superman. If there's some sort of magic or cosmic force at play, then the comic writer can make up rules on the fly and the ending will never surprise anyone. (Clark decided to channel kryptonite energy through the scientist's gamma channeling machine to cause it to overload and destroy itself? Um, okay.)

My favorite is probably going to have to be Spiderman. I've been a fan of Spiderman for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid I'd always watch the Spiderman cartoons on the Disney channel. I'd also buy all the Spiderman video games. Hell, one of my first games ever was a Gameboy Color Spiderman game. I also enjoy the live action movies. Although I do prefer the Amazing Spiderman movie to the older trilogy, I still enjoy them all.

Spiderman is relatable too, which is nice. He's human, and not some invincible alien. Also, his sense of justice, and awful jokes are more reasons to like him. Go Spidey!
