IIRC; this is reformed Sombra after the Siege arc, and looks like he is looking for the shards of Princess Amore with Radiant Hope.

Am I the only one who hopes ^that^ remains non-retconned?

 

Sure, I still liked Sombra as a no-nonsense villain (both in the show and here); however, I also liked how they managed to make him sympathetic at the same time (e.g.: Darth Vader, Count Bleck, Tempest Shadow, etc.).

 

Would definitely suck for the higher-ups to just go, "Nope, never happened!"

Honestly; I've been decidedly mixed on how the Siege arc ended. While I'm not against a reformation for Sombra, the way it was handled always felt off to me. I guess this is a personal taste thing, but I would've preferred reformed Sombra without the clean slate, if you will. Something along the lines of "you may still be of shadow; that doesn't make the shadow evil" or something of that nature.

But of course that really wasn't my biggest issue with the arc, but it's one thing that kinda taints my enjoyment of it. Though I will say that it doesn connect nicely with the Reflections world now that the Sombra there has the evil energy in him now.

They believed they had killed him once before.  Grogar was able to bring him back before.  Perhaps He's still in the cards.  I had the pleasure of having dinner this weekend with Jim Miller at a mlp convention, and I believe he's aware that Sombra fans will not accept his death as canon.  We simply refuse.  He also said he wanted to make up for his first, unsatisfying portrayal, and really give the impression that, given the opportunity to flex, Sombra really IS that powerful.  I can appreciate most of what they've done with him, and maybe we get him back, maybe we don't.  But man, we finally got a chance to see him get out and do some damage.  Long Live The King.
