What codes do you follow/try to follow?

Adachi

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to follow a modified version of the Knights Code, including the noble virtues. The only problem is, I have a hard time following rules 100%. I know why society has to have rules, but some rules are just meant to be broken >.<

These are the rules I live by:

1. if it is not a big deal don't make it one.

2. don't make people angry for no reason (if you have a reason go right ahead)

3. don't judge a book (person) by its cover, you never know, they might end up as your most loyal friends later on in life.

4. Don't force your opinions onto others.

5. BE OPEN MINDED!!!!

6. if one of your friends is in trouble, i.e. getting the shit beaten out of them by someone, first try and talk down the situation  and if that fails use force (separate them from each other, because getting any more involved wouldn't end up well for anyone)
7. aim to make people happy but don't go out of your way to make them happy, unless you really want to.
8. never start a fight unless absolutely necessary.
9. karma is a bitch, if someone deserves it then they will receive it.
10. don't be an annoyance
11. do stuff that makes you happy.
12. muffins are awesome!!!

I don't find it hard to live by these rules because it is who I am since these were the morals I had grown up with.
The trick is to set something that is not impossible for the type person who you are to achieve but it should be directing you towards becoming a better person.

-treat strangers as if the floor under you could rip open at any time and it's up to them to save your life.

-treat girls like guys (no speacial attention, but with respect) [trust me, it's for the best]

-defend friends

-fight for what you believe in

-never compromise, not even in the face of armaggedon (thank you, Shepard)

I just follow rules that someone tells me to follow.

To lazy to make my own

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it save equistria with its five candy coloured friends and shoot rainbows at bad guys using their necklaces and tiara unless you're celestia

-First and foremost, seek to use good judgement, a code is a guideline, not a replacement.

-I strive towards the 9 Noble Virtues, though I admit to being far from perfect.

-A slight deviation from The Rede (primarily "An it harm none, do as ye will"): Cause no needless suffering, do not take advantage of those within your power, as you enjoy free will respect the free will of others, accept the consequences of your actions.

-Learn from the mistakes of the past, but do not dwell on them.

I'll probably go with these for now

- Do not ask for things, but do not turn down gifts.

- Be gracious towards all, even those who don't deserve it.

- Forgive your enemies, for it is up to God to punish them.

- Live as simply as you can (I keep internet, but I don't subscribe to any cell phone contracts or cable tv)

- Be honorable in word and deed.

- Do not judge others.

- Always be yourself

- Always be thinking

- Do not become a monster to fight one (taken from Karma from LoL)

- Ideals are meaningless, unless you're willing to fight for them (taken from Karma from LoL)

- Do not suppress your inner child

- Be charitable

- Don't be afraid to show your sensitive side

- Respect nature

This is the most notable of the codes I live by:

Defending Rarity:

1. Be Patient

2. No Personal Attacks, no matter what.

3. Only pull out evidence against their best pony if they insult Rarity enough to offend.

4. If it's a troll, laugh at them.

5. Don't argue fair criticisms put in a constructive and kind manner, unless they're blatantly wrong.

6. Don't respect other's opinions unless they deserve respect.

7. When you're wrong, admit it instead of trying to bullshit your way out of it.

8. Unless you know you're wrong, however, stick to your guns and refuse to give in.

That's pretty much the only set one I live by :D

I have certain things I try to do in life, but nothing set enough to have a code :D I take life on a day to day basis, honestly :D

Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play something. Also don't be afraid to message and talk to me. I've had bad luck when I start a conversation, so I more then likely won't start one.

As a Boy Scout, I try and follow the scout law. A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. I also try and follow the scout oath. On my honor, I will do my best, to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people at all times, to obey the scout law, to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

I play by my own rules, these days.

I'm trying to follow a modified version of the Knights Code, including the noble virtues. The only problem is, I have a hard time following rules 100%. I know why society has to have rules, but some rules are just meant to be broken >.<

Don't worry, the knights didn't follow the Knights Code either, that's why they were considered drunks and thugs.

Man should not ruled nor governed by sacred morals, but rather something far more real that deepens itself into every thing that morals are based upon: the conscience. The conscience is something medically and scientifically measurable: you steal a cookie, and you feel guilty for it. It is something even measured within animals other than human beings. It is what connects the sense of naturalness of certain acts to what becomes acceptable behavior within a species. This is my conscience; the laws that I live by:

-Respect must be given for respect to be given in return. Respect cannot be demanded, but must be earned.

-Loyalty to ones friends deserves loyalty in return.

-There's no shame in admitting what you don't know; the only shame is pretending you know all the answers.

-Never give in to wrong.

-Patience is the key to wealth

-View life through relativity.

-Constructive criticism is vastly more helpful than cruel words. Inform, don't insult.

-Be sporting in life. Nobody likes a sore loser or winner.

-If it doesn't sound right, it probably isn't.

-Look at every day as a chance to learn something new.

-Look to science, for it stands on the precipice between knowledge and ignorance. Any problem can be solved with science, if given the time.

-It is the duty of those with knowledge to spread it as much as possible. The hoarding of knowledge breeds ignorance and hatred.

-Greed is the root of all evil.

-Take your morals naught by some sacred text, but by what feels right in your ow heart.

-Those that require evil to fight it, are evil themselves.

-Perfection itself is unobtainable, however to not hesitate to reach for it.

-Those who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.

-Everyone deserves a second chance.

-Do not make judgement without full knowledge of both the situation and the consequences.

-Compromise is greatest weapon in battle.

-Evolution gifted humanity with an incredible mind, don't squander this gift.
