Hovershy 3,816 May 19, 2014 Share May 19, 2014 What was a bigger and more important change for twilight. Getting her wings and becoming an alicorn princess, or getting her own kingdom? I think getting her own kingdom was a bigger change, because season 4 didn't feel to much different from the seasons before it. Even though she was a princess, she didn't do too many princessy things. I think season 5 will be a bigger change. 1 Fluttershy Fan Club sig by Blue Snowfire
Frostgage 7,985 May 19, 2014 Share May 19, 2014 Obviously we don't know for sure yet, but I would presumably say getting her kingdom. Even after she became a princess she really did act any differently than before. Not that she will now that she has a castle, but still. 1 Signature by Lacerna | You should fill out my Johari Window. Pastel 7,630 May 19, 2014 Share May 19, 2014 (edited) Yeah it's a bit too early to tell... To me, becoming an alicorn was a big step in her life. Edited May 20, 2014 by Blobulle
BayoUni2847 528 May 19, 2014 Share May 19, 2014 This is a hard decision, in my opinion. When she became a princess, that means she was equal to Celestia, Luna and Cadance when she used to look up to those three for guidance. Thus, this made her feel different from her friends since she would have royal duties. On the other side of the coin, getting her own kingdom would mean increasing the amount of royal duties she would have by a large margin, but it wouldn't make it that big of a change because she had to move to Ponyville and make friends when she didn't know any of the ponies and she was a princess all through Season four, so she could get used to some of these duties. I guess we won't really see how it affects Twilight until Season five.
Ianpiersonjdavis 514 May 19, 2014 Share May 19, 2014 (edited) Too early to tell... Being an Alicorn Princess had a lot of thing I THOUGHT would be changed, but very few of them actually bore fruit-so I'd feel better saving my vote until we've seen a few episodes in Season 5. Especially since the castle didn't appear until the literal end of the finale, so we can't really be sure what she's thinking or feeling right now-much less the residents of Ponyville. The season 3 finale made it seem like the show was going in a completely different direction, but it didn't really. The season 4 finale did the same thing, but we don't know for sure if it really will or not. Oh well, it's never to early to speculate. Adorkable 2,737 May 19, 2014 Share May 19, 2014 Oh, what an interesting topic! I had actually thought about this before! ^^ Let's see... While they were both huge things for Twilight, I think that her becoming an Alicorn was, by far, the biggest deal. Let me explain. When Twilight Sparkle became an Alicorn, not only did it represent her "graduating" Princess Celestia's teachings, but it also changed her. I mean, I'm not exactly sure how to word it, but it took who she was at birth, just a Unicorn, and made her into something much more than that. She became a true leader of Equestria, facing all the hardest trials thrown at her from every corner, truly realizing that friendship is magic and the limits that it can exceed. The biggest thing is, she gained wings. While it may not seem like that big of a deal, Twilight went under a complete transformation because she of what she had earned through her studies with Princess Celestia, pushing her but a step forward to discovering her destiny. Now, when Twilight received her Kingdom, this was also a huge change. I internally squee'd from the inside when I read the episode's title. This was, yet again, another huge step for Twilight to take, so epic. I can still remember during Equestria Girls when Twilight was worried she would be given her own place to rule over. Little did she know. I don't want to sound like it's not a big change, but it's Ponyville! Her home, the place she's lived at since she arrived. I think it's great, she doesn't have to leave her friends or hometown. While it's still a change to get used to, it will still be easier than when she first became an Alicorn, because she's still home, just now in a castle. ^^
ghostfacekiller39 23,882 May 19, 2014 Share May 19, 2014 I'd say gaining a pair of wings As an alicorn princess, she should've expected to get her own kingdom sooner or later. It's pretty much natural - what's a princess if a princess doesn't have anything to rule? They smile and they wave, like it was addressed in the finale. However, Cadence didn't always have a kingdom, either - she didn't get one until the start of S3. Twilight most likely was expecting a kingdom, since she's a pretty smart cookie, but was simply discouraged that it was taking much longer than she'd anticipated - Cadence got her Kingdom in the very next episode after marrying Shining Armour, technically speaking, so what was taking her kingdom so long?On the other hand, Twilight wasn't expecting to become an alicorn princess, nor did she have any ability to tell as much was going to happen, from what I gathered. That's what was a bigger change for her, in the sense that A.) she wasn't expecting it and B.) she wouldn't even have a kingdom if she didn't become an alicorn princess 1 He who is Positively Obsessed With All Things Rarity!!! Nemesis Atlas 31 May 19, 2014 Share May 19, 2014 I think the biggest change is when she became an Alicorn. I mean sure, she didn't do almost ANYTHING with her roll as a princess (except being a super siyan and defeating Tirek... I guess) since this season. But if she didn't become a princess, she would have never gotten her own kingdom and somewhat "very regal and important" duties. But that's just my opinion So... got any problems, troubles, conundrums, or any other sort of issues, major or minor, that I as a good friend could help you solve? ~Twilight Sparkle in "Lesson Zero" We've learned that friendship is never easy, but there's no doubt it's worth fighting for. ~Twilight Sparkle in "Return of Harmony Part 2" PRINCESS ALICORN TWILIGHT SPARKLE IS BEST PONY
Rainboom Dash 1,057 May 20, 2014 Share May 20, 2014 I'm saying kingdom. When she became an alicorn not much really changed for her outside of getting wings.
LED Dasher 228 May 20, 2014 Share May 20, 2014 I think the biggest change for Twilight was getting her kingdom. Becoming a princess did not really change Twilight's life much if at all. She was still doing the same things she always does with her friends. She was hanging out with them, going places, and learning new things. The wings she obtained wasn't much of a change aside from her obtaining the ability to fly. I think the show will take a slightly different approach in season five, but will not deviate very much from previous seasons.
MLPFanatic34 3,241 May 21, 2014 Share May 21, 2014 It is nice to see Twilight adjust to every change that has happened to her and it's nice to see Luna talking to her and not looking at her with a face like :okiedokielokie: or lol.
ReverseFaller 2,484 May 21, 2014 Share May 21, 2014 I'm going to go with the wings. She wasn't expecting to become a princess, or an alicorn at all. It just kind of came out of nowhere. The castle also came out of nowhere, but I don't think she was as surprised at the castle as she was at finding out that she was becoming her teacher's equal. Once Season 5 comes out we'll know more about how she reacts to living in a giant castle that came from the ground. Banul 3,831 May 21, 2014 Share May 21, 2014 I'd say becoming an alicorn was the bigger change. Not only did it change her physically by giving her a new set of wings to adapt to, it also drastically changed her social standing and gave her new responsibilities as a princess. The kingdom seems to me to just be an extension of the princess thing, but it's a little to soon to know for sure.
GenderIsAnIllusion 2,178 May 21, 2014 Share May 21, 2014 I'd have to go with becoming alicorn. ...... She grew wings..... That's a preeeeyy big change... Especially since her kingdom is just a fancier tree house. My peep is against bullying.... LED Dasher 228 May 21, 2014 Share May 21, 2014 Not only the ability to fly, she also became a princess who has responsibilities. (as seen in Trade Ya!) True, but she didn't have a defined role until after the season four finale. She was questioning what type of princess she was in the beginning part of that finale. Metemponychosis 1,263 May 21, 2014 Share May 21, 2014 I don't know what really changed. What I know is that I feel that Twilight has grown distant from Celestia and closer to Cadance in this season. Twilight also seems to be much more in control of her own feelings and sometimes she seems like she is one step above her friends. Since all this happened before she gained her kingdom (which honestly seems more like just a title for the episode since we don't know what she is supposed to be doing in her palace that she wasn't doing before, not to mention that the thing had six chairs+1). So, I'd say that what changed Twilight was becoming an alicorn. Or bad writing. https://www.fimfiction.net/user/32864/Metemponychosis For dumb, self-important fics about mythology, ponies and fascist griffons that can't figure friendship out.
