Actually, I can't say for sure.  I have heard that Spoungebob Squarepants got really bad, but not any of the latest episodes.

Spongebob went from naive to plain stupid and annoying (don't get me stated on the voice)

Patrick went from "not all up there" to "hurr durr pickles"

The humor is trying really hard to compete with the "wacky and zany" misadventures of Regular Show and Adventure Time, and has alienated old fans in the process

You know that literally every argument you tried to make here was completely destroyed by you admitting to not watching it, right?

 

 

The art style has gone in a considerably opposite direction (compare old vs New Spongebob designs, I dare you)

You dare me to compare the designs, huh? Okay, the characters look exactly the fucking same as they did in Season 2 with the very mild difference of SpongeBob's cheek shape and the artists still have just as much freedom to express them how they want for the scene which was always important to the animation. It's just as good. I'm sorry, what was the reason for this dare? Does them looking no different at all prove something against me?

 

It's soulless and is only alive today because no other franchise they have can stand up to CNs withering line-up.

No, it's still alive today because it makes money and would be with CN completely out of the question. This isn't hard to figure out, it's supply and demand.

 

So take off your...whatever....not-stalgia glasses, and see that everything is not the pretty rose cor yo imagine it was..

See, I can actually say that it's good in my opinion because I actually watch it. I don't have any goggles clouding my vision on anything, I just have genuine opinions that myself. You don't even have room to voice your own opinion and have it mean even close to anything at all because you admitted you won't give it a chance to even form said opinion. You just have your opinion, but you won't watch it to see if that opinion is actually how you'd feel if you saw it. Just keep parroting what everyone else on the internet says without watching it and I'll keep judging things based on my opinion after viewing them.

I have had the displeasure of watching many of the new ones, and if that's what they have to offer, I'm not touching that new one. No other show other than Modern Famiy causes me actual, physical pain to watch.

And you've watched so many new ones that you don't even need to watch the newest new ones (Season 9) that this thread is about and just know your opinion of it already no matter what?

 

Fuzzy is the sensei of Sandy and now Spongebob he's like a koala.

Oh. He was in Sandy's treedome, though. He'd need a helmet if he went into the water. Kenny was famous because he could supposedly hold his breath.

Well it's really hard to say. I mean Season 9 isn't as bad as season 6 or 7 but it's far from Season 1-4 quality. Even a lot of the better modern episodes are meh in comparison to the older episodes. If the 2nd movie that's coming out is good, I'll say Spongebob still has legs to stand on.

Well, I wouldn't say it's becoming gold, but I won't say it's turning into total garbage. So I'd say, uninteresting, but not awful to the point of pain.

I mean, the newest episodes are "Ech," but stuff from S6 was more of nightmare fuel than anything else.

Awful to the point of pain is what would be the title meant for Johnny Test.

I tried watching a newer season episode for about 10-15min when i stumbled upon it on TV and felt the same feeling i felt when watching something like Adventure Time: Not entertained.

 

And thus i stopped watching and im not bothering possibly giving Spongbob another try -- i couldn't care less what happens to the show in all honestly.     

 

I thought it had ended awhile back anywho.

Sure, most of the post-movie episodes have been bad, but I have to say the new movie isn't looking as awful as I thought it would.

Probably because Hillenburg is back on board now, and I think some of the old writers are returning too. Then again, you can't really judge a movie solely on the trailer.

 

I pray that after this movie they will finally end Spongebob.

 

Please Nickelodeon, you've scraped away at my childhood memories so much there's nothing left.

I have a younger sibling who still watched Spongebob, and sometimes he forces me to watch, and i'll say it, the S9 episodes are crap. There's an episode where Squidward gets hit on the head and starts acting like a baby so Spongebob and Patrick help him out, and it's disgusting. Spongebob You're Fired was crap and had no plot whatsoever, and there was a pointless and OOC episode where Mr. Krabs got himself stuck in a bank. Instead of being ridiculously happy, he was just scared, and he was surrounded BY MONEY.

Idk, i've watched SpongeBob since i was a kid, but i've just watched random episodes on TV, without really knowing what season are they from, i still do it when i can, and i don't remember any "horrible" episode (and i've watched a lot of episodes), so i'm not sure if i've not watched any season 5-8 episode, or they're just not that bad, wish i could say the same about Fairly Odd Parents.....

I don't care! Its spongebob! I love it, I'll always love it and to tell you the truth, I find the new seasons are quite amusing. they are not as good as the old episodes , not even close, but I still like it.

 

Old Episodes: Awesome!

New Episode: okay....
