The Unswept Today! (The Unswept, 2015)

Sooo...how can I preface this? Well, let's start off by saying that the Unswept's debut album, in spite of almost entirely being covers, was an excellent beginning - it's clear the O'Brien trio have a wide variety of influences and are able to cleverly work them into their Beatlesque sound with no effort at all. That isn't to say the few originals are slouchers in that department either; I could see songs like "Inside Out" and "Certain Flowers" appearing on a Herman's Hermits or Dave Clark Five

Development Update 10/26/2019

Hello, everyone. It's been awhile, hasn't it? Well, there's some new stuff in the game I wanted to tell you about, so I figured I may as well put up another development update. Now, I know I promised you that Nature Hills would be joining the team, and Ponyville would be in the game with the next update, but sadly, this didn't happen. I don't have the assets I need to add them into the game yet. So your going to have to wait a little while longer for that. Sorry, everyone. Luckily, I have

Lion Guard Ramblings

Huh.  Ushari was apparently the first character to explicitly die in a Disney Jr show(Not counting Scar, as he was already dead).  While another character in the Lion Guard did end up explicitly dying as well, that was towards the end of the 3rd season and after Ushari dies, so not only was Ushari one of the only villains to really leave any visible marks(Kion's scar will never heal, Ono's eyesight is better but not back to how it was), he was also the first character to explicitly die in a Disn

The Unswept (The Unswept, 2014)

A common complaint I tend to see whenever I listen to older forms of music is how "today's music sucks" and "nobody makes music like this anymore". Not only does this reek of r/lewronggeneration, but it is completely unfounded. There are plenty of bands that make good music in this day and age, and many more that specialize in carrying on the legacy of older bands. And no other band does this better than The Unswept, a power trio that seems like they walked straight out of the British Invasion o

BACKSTREET'S BACK (Now That Our Show's Over)

Hey everyone! (I won't be using fandom-isms I'm afraid). It's been over 3 years since I last visited this forum. And indeed, it'd been about that long since I last kept up with our little horse cartoon. I'm a college sophomore now, though it seems I'm even less mature than I was when I was teenager. Or at least less inhibited. I fully embrace my love of video games, anime, and kiddie shows again, and so do my friends, so that's cool. I also came out as trans in real life and that's not going fan

Renegade's Top 10 Childhood Albums

Greetings all, Renegade here with a LOOONG-overdue update. For today's entry, I decided to do something a bit different - a retrospective list of all the albums I could remember listening to in my childhood. I listened to a LOT of albums growing up (particularly hardcore punk, psychobilly, and heavy metal) so narrowing them down to my top 10 was a difficult task. But anyways, I'll be taking a look at the 10 that I most remember fondly - the rankings do not signify a particular order from best to

My Opinion on every Dark Type Pokemon

I decided to do an opinion list off of every Pokemon of my favorite type (I don't think it's a big secret that Dark is my favorite type, considering how I've basically proclaimed that to be the case multiple times). I will count Alolan forms, but not mega-evolutions or Hoopa Unbound for this list (Grouping them with what they are megas of in the case the original form is still Dark type).     Alolan Ratata- Don't really care for it. (Neutral) Alolan Raticate- I didn't like

Episode 49 - Pushy Employees

My spidey-sense tell me that this one is gonna get me in some hot water.... but f*ck it; I'm doin' it anyway. Y'know what really grinds my gears?  When employees in retail stores get too pushy and intrusive with their questions.  I hate it when they ask questions that try to trap you into a complex response: "What brought you in today?  What are you looking for?"  Buzz off, will you?  And the worst is when they hover outside of a fitting room and ask you if the clothes fit right and how the

"The Last Problem" Quickieview

Note: Taken from here and edited. A second, fuller review/analysis of how it's the perfect FIM finale is on the way. - A nitpick, but the adults are looking a little older than what they show. They're all at least in their mid-thirties if not closer to 40, but the giant bags under their eyes make them look like they're older than Bow Hothoof or Windy Whistles. Lighter, smaller, subtler lines under their eyes may work more to better match that range. - Twilight apparently had a li

Back Again

So much for this whole biweekly update thing.  But here I have something that I impressed myself with. Also, the first time I've drawn wings I can really be proud of! Note: most of the art in this picture isn't mine. Everything except the last window on the right wasn't made by me. The last window on the right is the only part that's actually my art.   Woops, forgot to mention, the design is heavily inspired by this piece here (my personal favorite Nightmare Moon fanart).

My Thoughts on Every MLP:FiM Season 9 Episode and My Farewell to the Series

This is a compilation of every mini-review I gave to each episode of Season 9.    The Beginning of the End (both parts): I have many weird feelings about this season premiere that make it difficult for me to articulate my thoughts...but I will start by saying that it was awesome and miles and bounds better than the first premiere involving King Sombra. The pacing was perfect, there was always something happening, a constant feeling of suspense, and best of all, do I even need to say it

Rarity fursuit pt. 4; head is finished!

So after overcoming a fairly serious thumb injury and making the life-changing decision to quit my last job, I finally finished Rarity's head (and by finally finished I mean the head's been finished for a week, I've just been dealing with her mane up until last night). Long synthetic hair is a nightmare to deal with. I spent way too long trying to get her mane the way it is in the show, and I just couldn't get it right. No matter what I tried I couldn't get the hair to make one large curl, so in

BGP (September DevLog): Forming a TEAM!

This past month has been the most productive by a mile.        A nice new tradition I'm starting up is putting up 2 Patreon updates a month now. One at the beginning of the month and one at the end. These posts are getting super meaty and full of news now, so the separation gives some breathing room to the avalanche of content to talk about. This month's posts are about finally finding a programmer to help me exponentially speed up development. We got a lot done in just the pas

Ashley H's vlog of how FIM saved her life

FIM has had that magic touch that personally gets to bronies. Very often, you see, hear, or read stories of how this show has helped people become better, if not saved their lives. A few years ago, one user here gave $630 to the Forums as a way to show how much this show saved his life. Some of you might be familiar with Ashley H, a YouTuber who has posted voice-acting and editing work on her channel, particularly her magnificent series called "Remembrance." Last week, she posted a vlog of

Do you think equestria has horoscopes/astrology?

I was thinking (note the time)... are there horoscopes in equestria?  We've had other examples of real life constellations in general like Star Hunter's Orion cutie mark. Both Ursas. And the latest one, although not actually equivalent to any real constellation, Rockhoof refers to it as O'Bridles Belt, which could be just a play on words with Orion's Belt, and we have too his story about how he tossed an Ursa mayor so hard into the sky it became a constellation ever since. But wh

Episode 48 - Disc Cases

Hey.  Y'know what really grinds my gears?  Disc cases that are too hard to get the disc out of.  Y'know what I'm talkin' about?  I'm talking about optical disc cases (CDs, DVDs, Blu-Ray), where the little center tab thing that holds the disc in is really difficult to pull the disc out of.  Some of them are total bullsh*t.  Like, some cases are so difficult to get the disc out of that I'm actually afraid of causing damage to the god damn disc.  I mean, you're suppose to be able to press the thing
