If time travel to the past were made possible by any means other than unicorn magic, I would go to the past and tell myself how to do it so that I could "invent" time travel. That won't work if since I didn't have any unicorn magic in the past so... A: "Hey, when you go to Five Guys, DON'T eat all of the fries." B: "You had one chance to travel back in time and THAT was the best you could think of?"

If anybody was still looking for new opinions on the matter, I wouldn't have even known Lyra existed if not for threads like these, I still don't know where she shows up in the show, and I have yet to encounter even the slightest hint of why people think she wants to be human. Before I got caught up I figured it was just something I hadn't reached yet, but no I still don't know where all this came from.

It turns out, MLP forums does not add new content at a fast enough rate to keep me entertained for more than 22 consecutive hours.

Valve's bull, TF2's latest bull, and more.
Kamil commented on Ron Jeremy's blog entry in Roop's gaming blog
I respectfully disagree with your "And that's bad" unspoken conclusion. The facts are solid though. -
@@Captain Nemo, I'm glad you're willing to answer my questions ranging from tedious to potentially disturbing! Such detailed answers are especially useful, although after taking the time to read into greater detail on the site linked, I've realized that numbers 1 and 4 are very common questions and surprisingly consistent. Number 6, while not really common (or at least not listed) seems to be headed in the "not part of the decision" direction. Everything I asked was based on thinking to myself "what do I need to consider before living with somebody else in my head FOREVER," so the more things Tulpae 'probably wouldn't mind' the fewer things I have to ask myself 'Will I do this at any point in the future?' before I can get to the proper consideration. ...If any of that makes sense.

Ask Brook/River/that one dude that's kinda-funny-but-hes-too-random-for-my-taste

If you're so random, why is pie? -
Thank you for your prompt and helpful answers. My own musings predicted similar attitudes, but I am glad to hear a positive response on the specific points I was concerned about.

I am currently not seriously considering an undertaking of this nature, as I believe that my necessary skills are lacking and that my motivation is unsuitable. Besides that, I honestly wouldn't want to subject anyone to the arduous task of spending an entire lifetime with me and doubt I would really want to spend an entire lifetime with anyone else either. I'm keeping an open mind though, the idea is something to think about. As such, I have some questions that I really don't want to read though all 96 pages to find out if any have already been asked. If the answers are already somewhere else feel free to just say so and I'll go through the finding myself. These are all directed at creators, and could have a very serious impact on my decision on whether to create a Tulpa, and my actions afterward if I do. Input from Tulpae are also welcomed. Well, here we go: 1) How have you handled having this being which is just as "human" (in some senses at least) as you are, but nobody else caneven tell exists? Have you established non-verbal communication methods to use amongst those who aren't privvy to your Tulpa's existence, or do you not talk to it in the presence of company? Or do you prefer to prioritize your Tulpa, treating them just like any other close friend and ignoring anybody who dislikes it? 2) Has having a Tulpa impacted your love life significantly? Does the idea of some other sentience always being present drive some away that you would have prefered stay, or do you feel that your significant other should be able to deal with something like this and see that sort of reaction as a sign that you really shouldn't have been together anyways? Has your Tulpa ever helped you more directly on such matters, through advice or moral support either getting into relationships or dealing with breakups? 3) Do, or can, Tulpae age? Is it at a normal rate, or can it be controlled or stopped? 4) Can conscious thought have any impact on your Tulpa after creation? Even little things like giving them gifts that they can actually use? 5) Have any of you, or anyone else you know, REGRETED making a Tulpa in the end, including accidental ones? This doesn't mean things like a specific incident upsetting you or jitters befre you got used to it, but if you look back on your life since the Tulpa was made do you think that lacking a Tulpa would have improved the results of situations you've been in to the point where the comradeship of your Tulpa hasn't really been worth it. Now this last question, while not necessarily less important than the others, is probably going to be FAR less comfortable to answer, and this time I really don't want details (more than extremely non-specific description is against forum policy anyway). Open the spoiler if that doesn't bother you, and I'd appreciate answers if that also doesn't bother you, but this isn't really something I even want to ask if it didn't have a possibility of massively impacting my decision. (I had originally planned to say that in a much less direct fashion, but decided that would be counterproductive to getting serious, honest answers.) Regardless of which of these questions you may choose to answer, I'd like to get input from several people before deciding whether to put really serious consideration into the idea.

I think Gangnam Style is a legitimately good song, but don't like the fact that it's popular. Because, It made liking K-Pop cool, Which means that, ever since Gangnam Style came out, I officially liked K-Pop before it was cool. It makes me feel so hipster.

gaming Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, Generation 6 is here!
Kamil replied to Brook's topic in Media Discussion
I'd love a R/S remake since I don't still have any of the systems to play GBA games (Nintendo's much better than the other companies about being backward compatible, but it rarely goes back more than 1 generation of systems). I try to avoid pirating even if there isn't a single way I could get my money to the creators in exchange for the relevant product. -
Hey Dash, I heard this guy calling himself Planetboom (and apparently a group named S4 League) think they're "Fast" I think it's a joke, there's no way they could be faster than you, especially not when they take enough time out from practice to write songs about it. What do you say?

S4 League has an AMAZING original soundtrack; it's one of the few things that game still has going for it. Well... "Original" as in "The soundtrack was made by the game's developers, but a lot of it for other games." This specific piece was the other way around though (obviously). Other than that, The World Ends With You had pretty unique music. Most of the time I don't pay a ton of attention to the music. The best OST wouldn't even be noticed unless it's either heard seperately from the game, or the game's played without its music. (Pay attention to the lyrics on this one... I didn't notice on account of playing an amazing game the first time I heard it, but they're... interesting.)

Don't worry, we've got recordings of her singing too. Not sure if any of them were solo pieces though. Anyways, is there a trick to apple bucking, or is it just pure strength?

Perfectly good reason to be on the site, byt what are you doing in the Ask a Pony section? You're not a pony! (Or are you? I never watched the show...)

Brony-Made MLP: FiM Trading Card Game
Kamil replied to Gemini Rain's topic in Trixie's Tricks (Other Resources)
Well apparently the MLP TCG idea pretty much immediately moved to its own thread without me noticing, so I'll summarize what I said in the non-game trading card thread here. Basically (unless this was already your plan) I'll try to take whatever card game you come up with and make it into a video game. Reason for wanting to help: I love Trading Card Games in general, as well as other types of card games that don't involve trading and things of that nature. Helpful abilities/skills: Not exactly professional level, but I have experience with various 3D modeling techniques and programming languages. Hopefully that experience will translate to Unity without too much trouble (preliminary testing indicates that will probably be true, though real usable skills won't come for a while). What makes you specially helpful to the project: I am completely willing to do a whole bunch of basic gruntwork, since I'm not confident in providing support on the ideas or art, so I'll make a system that can play whatever is made but until all the rules and all the cards are finished most of what I can do are things anybody COULD do, but if I do them then people with other skills don't have to. Availability: I am a current college student so I don't have infinite time, but my schedule this semester should be less packed than last semester, and I've always had spare time on my hands no matter how busy I got overall. Other: If you don't mind the lack of originality, I can just flat-out list features from all the card games I've played before in the event you need a brainstorming session to get some ideas of your own. -

TOO. MUCH. Y'ALL. Living in Oklahoma I don't hear that word as many times in a day as I read in just that one post. Oh right there's art too. Not bad. I would say that the had is too tall and the neck shouldn't be so angled relative to the body, but it's so far beyond what I can do that I doubt much of what I could add is important.

I was walking through my town...
Kamil replied to Harmonic Revelations's topic in General Discussion
Ants are in more places than humans, are more numerous even when measured by MASS rather than individually, and take over the entire underground space where they live. Just to put things in perspective. In addition, almost any other species which is currently not a global phenomenon was relocated so that it was, would entirely destroy any new ecosystem it entered. Humans as a species (not necessarily individuals, but overall) know a lot more restraint than other species, and it only seems different because we have so much power that even massively limited we can crush anything we run into without even a thought. -
Maddening (A Web Comic) (Comic: #100!?!) (Also Q & A)
Kamil replied to Zink's topic in Photo Finish's Magics (Visual Art)
Actually, in my experience things are often in the first place that makes you think "I couldn't have possibly put it UNDER all that stuff." -
This post is not only relevant, and in a very significant way a complete solution to my problem, it is also valuable information for general browsing. It is not everything I hoped for though, video playback using this method still contains the other problems I've encountered. Regardless, kudos for being far more helpful than a great many people on the internet (including every single user of Yahoo! Answers, which I used to use before I realized that it was less effective at getting a real answer than asking in a YouTube comment section).

gaming Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, Generation 6 is here!
Kamil replied to Brook's topic in Media Discussion
I personally like turn-based battle systems, they give me time to consider multiple possible scenarios rather than memorizing exactly what to do in a given situation so that I can react effectively within the time constraints of active battle systems (Or, because ain't nobody got time for dat, button mash). That said, I've never gotten all that deep into the mechanics of any game, so my strategy for my entire Pokemon career has been "Get cool party members, teach them powerful pure-attacking moves of various types, never using repel or Run is good enough training to not grind." -

Since the most recent of YouTube's poorly-received and all-too-frequent complete interface overhaul, along with the myriad of problems that I have heard from others, I have been forced to watch some videos without proper fullscreen. Specifically, for certain uploaders (It does seem to be the same ones every time, and as far as I know it happens to all of those channels' videos, but I don't know of anything specific to connect WHICH channels.) hitting the fullscreen button in the bottom right of the video controls only causes the video to fill the window, rather than the whole screen. For clarification, this is what the video should look like: And this is what the video actually looks like: I have already reported the problem using the "send feedback" button helpfully located absolutely everywhere, but since it persists I am forced to ask whether anybody else here has had this problem, and whether they've fixed it somehow on their own. While simply having my taskbar and tabs visible while watching a video would be tolerable, videos which display in this format also have extra bugs, such as serious audio stuttering, massively reduced playback speed, and the inability to hide video controls. Now for those wondering how I got the "normal" screenshot, or those who hate Internet Explorer, or those who might actually find this information usable in providing a legitimate solution, I have a single response: The problem simply doesn't exist when using Chrome rather than Internet Explorer 9. I have also not noticed it when using Internet Explorer 10 on another device, but that may just be due to the fact that the Metro IE10 app doesn't have any fixed on-screen interface, so the effective window is the same as the full screen. I strongly dislike Chrome and FireFox though, so telling me to switch browsers is not an answer that I will accept (though in the meantime, I will endure using Chrome for nothing but watching those specific videos).
