Caffine doesn't seem to work right on me... It doesn't keep me awake any better, or make me feel less tired after I wake up, but I do get twitchy and irritable. Or that might be the sugar since I drink Energy drinks and soda rather than coffee or tea. They both taste awful to me.

Read more carefully, he said "O love my little pony." Grammar aside, it's this O person that loves the show, not him.

Is the fandom a lot more "limited" than it seems?
Kamil replied to Zacharias's topic in Sugarcube Corner
If you want to create something without needing to go through that long and difficult stage where the number of people who know about you, there is a shortcut. It's called doing exactly the same thing somebody everybody knows already did. I have 36 subscribers on YouTube, and every one of them is because a known Minecrafter posted something and then I posted a few videos of the same thing done bigger and better and he mentioned it in later videos. 36 isn't all that much, but considering that I went from 0 to there in a total of 6 videos all on one project and getting over 200 views on some of them, that's a big step that I could have built on if I wanted to be another guy who uploads a bunch of videos about building redstone stuff in Minecraft. I have to admit that it felt good getting all that attention, but I'm not a very good content creator and I'm not all that into Minecraft anymore either. The point is, if you do something that's already popular and link it to something that's already well known, you get an immediate sense of accomplishment, immediate support, and instant motivation to start on the next thing. If you make what you want to make, something that's never been done before, then nobody knows unless you tell them, and not everybody who finds it will be interested. If you keep on making things anyway, and put just as much effort into making others take notice as you do making your creation worthy of notice, then eventually you'll become the popular one everybody knows, and then YOU get to be the one surrounded by people begging for you to keep doing exactly what's now already popular and already known. It's very hard to start original, and it's very hard to stay original. This applies to everything if your goal is to become popular. -
Well, that's the last time I ever buy anything pony-related in public.
Kamil replied to Yes-Man's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I personally don't wear anything that prominently displays my interests of any kind. It just doesn't seem really relevant to share with people who aren't also interested, and there are plenty of other ways to connect with those who are. If they're not only uninterested but also heavily disapproving, then I get the added benefit of avoiding that confrontation; I don't care what they think so they have no business knowing what I think anyway. -
Well if you're posting here there's no way you'll get an unbiased opinion. In fact posting here pretty much means you already know what you want to do and are just looking for democratic support that the decision is right. Not that the decision is wrong, but if you weren't aware that's what you seem to be doing. Anyways, I would say respect your parent's wishes. Respect, that is, in the same way I respect religion, which is by acknowledging that that particular way of looking at things is valid, but not the same as my way of looking at things and certainly not relevant to what I will do most of the time. They can't control what you do, but when they push against you the best option isn't always to just push harder. If your dad specifically said "I don't approve of this unless your friends are also doing it" (A very strange thing to say, but there are all kinds of people...) then find some friends that are also Bronies. As far as I can tell we're everywhere and growing, and you already have at least one thing in common with each and every one. Try to understand specifically what your parents disapprove of. If they think it's too girly for you, or too childish, maybe they just need a demonstration. If they think you're spending too much time on this one thing and it's affecting "more important" things like nonsense schoolwork you'll never use in real life, then prove them wrong. If they refuse to listen to you, then you can refuse to listen to them, but say so or you may end up making your life awkward and difficult for far longer than you need to. Also of note, I didn't read the other responses. Feel free to ignore advice you've already tried.

I have never studied. I get the feeling that may hurt me at some point before I finish college since I don't actually have a very good memory in terms of ability to recall anything verbatum, and I don't think that studying would have a negative or insignificant impact, but I just never have done it and can't really force myself to change that.

gaming Do you game for skill or just for fun?
Kamil replied to SUPERFOX5's topic in Media Discussion
I don't need to INCREASE my skill, but I usually prefer to just barely succeed than to do everything perfectly. I also absolutely refuse to put significant effort into anything required to increase skill other than just playing the game. If the game isn't challenging it gets boring pretty quickly, but I also prefer a difficulty curve where you naturally get better without ever reaching a point that you have to struggle and practice over and over to get even barely succeeding. This picture reminds me of Mew... The art style distorts the shape, not judging just saying that's why it looks similar, and lazily drifting above a lake in the middle of nowhere seems like the sort of thing Mew would do. Not at all how I personally picture Rainbow Dash ever though.

planning Pony D&D, anyone?
Kamil replied to Alex Kennedy's topic in Everfree Planning, OOC & Discussion
I'm fine with the non-humanized campaign, it's what I was expecting anyway (though I don't mind doing either) and can make either of those times normally, though next saturday I'll be on a plane from slightly before when the non-humanized group starts until slightly before when the humanized group starts so unless I decide to ignore the warnings and just go ahead with my phone's 4G I probably won't make it. I will get to work on my character though, what classes or archetypes do you need? I'm fine with anything that doesn't need high charisma and doesn't primarily use prepared spells. Of course there are other details I'd need to know too... But that should be enough to get the stats at least. My skype is alex.dudman, and I don't know who else is in the group so I'll need a list or for the rest to add me as well. -

Since you just linked this in your other thread about describing cannon characters in DnD terms, I had assumed this hadn't started yet... Well if there's still a possibility to get in on this let me know, but please include the time so I can more-or-less commit to it. Otherwise, I'll check back here to see if another campaign starts up in the future. -
Popcorn tastes bad. Cheap pizza tastes better than expensive pizza. People should have to ask for mayonaise, not ask for no mayonaise. This thread should be entirely about food.

Werewolf games? Ah the nostalgia... I used to play these when I was younger... I think it's been almost a year now? Anyways, if roleplaying your character isn't required then I'm in as Snips for no particular reason. If it is required, or at least if everyone else plans to, then I'll need a lot more consideration and probably preparation.

Man... If only everyone didn't die, they could make a show out of this! It could be about how the evil ugly pony came back, got defeated, and then they killed her because apparently banishing just doesn't work.

Hello collected individuals of mostly the human variety
Kamil replied to Kamil's topic in Welcome Plaza
Thanks for all that! As for that question, my favorite musician is Carlos Santana and my favorite band is Seether, but I have too many other bands I like to list them all. A "representative sample" would include: Dragonforce, BigBang, Breaking Benjamin, Bowling for Soup, Disturbed, Cantonese Traffic, Bon Jovi, and Miracle of Sound. -
Yo yo yo, whassup? Hey there, I'm new to The Herd (so new that I haven't even caught up with all the episodes... I think I'm only about halfway through the second season). However, I have long enjoyed the derivative works produced by the MLP fandom in various forms, and personally consider the Brony phenomenon a stunning example of all that is good about the Internet (though that's not to say that individual Bronies can't embody some of the bad things as well). As for myself, I currently attend the University of Oklahoma as a Computer Science major, as a musician I play the Trumpet and have also performed on the electric guitar and bass, and as a gamer I mostly enjoy action and RPGs, though basically anything outside of sports is worth a shot. I also stay away from RTS and fighting games mostly because I'm not very good at them. One more thing: regardless of what anyone else may say, I believe that the sentence "I do not feel well." refers to the speaker believing that he lacks adequate emotional reactions (i.e. "feelings"), and that "I do not feel good." is the sentence that should be used to state that the speaker's senses (i.e. what he feels) indicate something about him is not right, usually to indicate possible illness. (Note that the former can also be used for having a poor sense of touch, while the latter can also be used as an alternative to "I feel evil.")
