Dose anypony feel like the man inside of them is fighting back? I freakin love the show, I love the characters, I have a huge file on my desk to full of pony pics, and I'm saving up to go to the Appleoosacon but sometimes I just find my self thinking "What am I doing?" I have a job as the janitor of a small private school and have to sweep and mop a big echoy gymnasium, once while I was mopping I started whistling winter wrapup but when I started to sing it my mind drew a blank and I yelled "Why don't I know the words to this song!" and somewhere in the back of my mind I herd a little voice say "Why should you?" I just feel like the manly part of me is fighting back to kill my bronyism. I've only been a brony for about five months so I figure that it's just something that's going to pass in time, but does anypony else feel the same way?

I'm really excited that there is a con sort of near me, (actually its pretty far but I have family in Phoenix) I really hope I can go to this when it rolls around. This is a new con and if it doesn't do so well they might not have it again next year, so if you are'er in or near the valley of the sun you should defiantly consider going to this con. and even if you don't go tell your friends about it. Details on the con can be found here http://appleloosacon.com/ Oh, and I almost forgot, this con will be benefiting the Phoenix Children's Hospital.

Proving atheism is a religion through logic
firesoxs commented on Titan Rising's blog entry in Hollowshield Philosophy
Sounds more like skepticism to me. Atheism is believing that there is nothing that can not be explained through logic. Skepticism is doubting everything that can be doubted in search of something that is beyond reproach, and I'm pretty sure that skeptics came up with the idea that they might be wrong first. -
I'm not to excited about this I'll watch it just because we'er in the hiatus but that's about it. Judging buy there outfits it doesn't look like they put much effort into it, I mean their cloths don't really reflect their personalities very well. It looks like the same outfit with six different color schemes.

Rumor about Twilight and Fluttershy at build-a-bear

Ok, this is pretty cool. I know what its like writing stuff like this so I'll do my best. 1. To me a "man" is a male who takes care of his responsibilities whether they be to his children, spouse, or employer. Societies definition I think is a male who likes sports, guns, action movies, cars, and participates in manly activities. 2. My male role model is my father. He has always been very sportive both financially and emotionally, (when I told my family about MLP he was the first to accept it) and he has always been my template for how a man should act towards others. In my adult life he is like an adviser or consulate when I need to make big decisions. We still talk often, about nearly everything from philosophy and politics to my own stupid obsessions. 3. As far as sexist jokes are concerned I don't really think to much about them. I don't agree with the stereotypes they set, but I don't get offended when I hear them. Well being a brony I can't really say anything about gender roles, I think my choices in entertainment can state it more accurately than any witty quote or euphemism. 4. If anything the show has taught to appreciate things for what they are and what they represent rather than the labels that society has placed on them. 5. I am actually very open about the show, I have several t-shirts and pins that I wear all the time. Really the reason that I became an out brony was because I really didn't have anything to lose, I'm already the weird guy in the group and my brother would have told someone eventually The only memorable experience I've had as an out brony was when I went to school wearing one of my MLP t-shirts, and a some guy in my class made a big deal out of it, I told him "I had the guts to walk onto a college campus wearing a pretty pink pony even though I knew you would give me crap about it. I think that's more "many" than anything I've seen you do, so lay off." 6. I think that my favorite pony would have to be Fluttershy. Manly because her quiet and introverted personality reminds me of myself when I was a child. Always glad to help a fellow student, if you need anything else for this paper just pm me.

Christian bronies: meet, greet, and mingle!
firesoxs replied to Zach TheDane's topic in General Discussion
First off the bible actually dose account for other religions. In a biblical view the power of any idol, medicine man, witch doctor or sorcerer comes from the devil. The practitioners of these religions may or may not know they are worshiping the devil, but that doesn't make it any less true. This is one of the reasons why alot of people say that we are bigoted and intolerant, and truthfully alot of us are which is extremely disappointing. Some Christians will see someone how holds an opposing belief and yell "God hates you, and you're going to hell you sinner!" A true Christian however, will see the same person and feel pity and compassion for them because they don't know what they'er getting themselves into. That is actually why most Chrisians prefer to use the word "save" rather than "convert". Secondly, I can attest to the power of voodoo because I have seen the power of the devil first hand. While most religions that utilizes miraculous sings and "magic" are cheep parlor tricks, (that's why i don't trust churches who claim to perform miraculous healings) but some of these powers are real, especially if they are considered dark or taboo. (remember the power comes from the devil) Hope this answers your questions.- 3,319 replies

Christian bronies: meet, greet, and mingle!
firesoxs replied to Zach TheDane's topic in General Discussion
Yeah I think most Christians would agree on that. but I know a few who would sit you down and have a little bible study if you so much as brought it up. Lets just say that half the Phoenix home school community don't let their children watch a good half of the Disney films on the market until they'er at least ten. I mean come on it's Disney, what bad things could they possibly learn from it. I mean even if they did try to cast spells because they saw the blue fairy do it, then that would mean that they are either unable to distinguish fantasy from reality or they are extremely pliable. Any way gtg I have classes in the morning.- 3,319 replies

Christian bronies: meet, greet, and mingle!
firesoxs replied to Zach TheDane's topic in General Discussion
That sounds good to me. However I don't think that the no swearing rule would hold. We could up hold the rule and politely ask others to refrain from the "F-bomb" and stuff, but if we just start kicking people for every hell and damn we'll end up drawing unnecessary attention to ourselves and risk being locked. Also the thing you said about using the show to teach christian values to kids is a good idea. My question is why just a few episodes? I get that some Christians don't like magic, but it's kind of a basic part of story telling and always has been. My parents taught me a few christian values with movies like "Sleeping Beauty" and "The Little Mermaid" witch rely heavily on the stuff, and lets not forget "The Chronicles of Narnia". I don't even have a problem with the Harry Potter series, and that was a big issue when I was growing up. As far as I'm concerned magic in fiction becomes only unacceptable is when it outright says that is is demonic, and even then if it's the villain who's using it then I will probably change my mind.- 3,319 replies

Christian bronies: meet, greet, and mingle!
firesoxs replied to Zach TheDane's topic in General Discussion
Yeah these are my people. I'm a non-denom Christian so basically I agree with any theological opinions that have verses to back them up. I'm also a pastors kid (not as fun as it sounds, it's like being in a fishbowl.) I am really encouraged to meet up with some fellow bronies who I can call my brothers and sisters, I look forward to getting to know you guys. that sounds like it would be pretty cool but what kind of example would we be setting if we just separated from them to avoid conflict. If they insist on bothering us we just need to reply as respectfully as we can, and I'm sure that the topic won't get locked. The best witness is to be a good example of how Jesus would act, and I'm pretty sure that he wouldn't just go off in a corner and hang out with people who agreed with him. It would also help if we didn't bring up any controversial subjects, I mean what good is an online debate about gay marriage or abortion going to do on this forum anyway. I'm sure that Jesus wouldn't be getting in a flame war over something that he disagreed with, so neither should we. As bronies we are already expected to love and tolerate, now that we have identified ourselves as Christians as well that should go double.- 3,319 replies

What are your nicknames for the ponies?
firesoxs replied to Blue Moon's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion

- See a Meat Loaf concert - See a celtic metal concert - Go to the opera (yes, my taste in music is very eclectic) - Have a serious and meaningful relationship - Get married (and make it work) - Lose my virginity on my wedding night (call me old fashioned but chastity really isn't that bad) - Have a couple of kids (and smoke some cigars with my buddies to celebrate) - Get a call from school telling me that my kid got in a fight and won, and then hear that the kid he fought was a bully (telling an adult just makes it worse, I know from experience) - Tackle someone who's trying to escape the police - Yell "Donald wheres your trousers?" at a Scotsman - Eat a deep fried Twinkie (so glad that they'er making a comeback) - Eat chocolate covered cotton candy (already done, tasted really weird) - Eat fugu (pufferfish) - Eat an animal that I killed my self (fish dose not count unless I risk my life trying to catch it) - Die (either at home surrounded by friends and family, or doing something awesome like saving a kid from a burning building or protecting someone) That's all for now, maybe I'll add more if I think of anything else. Being a virgin myself, I get where you're coming from on this topic. Just thought I'd tell you that chastity is only unbearable if you make it so. As soon as you accept it and let things unfold naturally you won't mind it so much. I'm not bashing sex, I'm just saying that people put to high a standard on it. I have plenty of friends who say that the sex in their relationship is great, but are still unhappy with their partners.

Have You Ever Turned Anyone Into a Brony?
firesoxs replied to Miss Dash.'s topic in Sugarcube Corner
I'm in the process of converting my brother. Started out where I would watch an entire season of any anime he chose, and in exchange he would watch two episodes of MLP. Last week I watched a three hour mare-athon of my favorite episodes and he sat through the whole thing without complaining (and I didn't even ask him to, he just sat down and watched it) so I think that I'm making progress. -

Good on ya for reading Brian Jaques I love his work, and I agree with Sparklechic the Alex Rider series is really good. Another author that I really like is C.S. Lewis.. And if your in for a heavy read you could try The Symarillion by J. R. R. Tolkein.- 23 replies

Hmm this sounds interesting If Blue_Moon doesn't want to do it you could PM me some of the details on exactly what you want to see. I've been thinking about doing fan-fics for a while now, it might take awhile though because this would be the first time I've done something like this. But I have written on my own before and my friends say that it's pretty good. -
