gaming Hylian Creed... Or a More Mature Zelda
. eris . replied to TanktheTortoise's topic in Media Discussion
O.O I would play that in a heartbeat. I also loved Ocarina of Time, it's the only Zelda game I've ever completed. I've doodled around in the other ones, but I didn't really get sucked into it like OoT. Plus, I am in unshakeable denial that Sheik is actually Zelda. They are two completely different people, so Link can have that bratty princess and I can have that cowled hunk. <3 -

Cutie Mark is a snowy mountain. This is my OC that I'm developing, Cliff Hiker. (Har dee har har, I know.) I'd like to see him either smiling cheekily or winking, but feel free to take some artistic license.- 28 replies

Have you been conciously kind to someone today?
. eris . replied to Asher's topic in General Discussion
I don't believe kindness needs to be earned, but unfortunately I act that way sometimes. In all seriousness, I'm not the most forgiving or kindest of people, but I did perform an ARAK today! (A Random Act of Kindness.) :3 So pleased with myself. -
music Am I the only brony that prefers to listen to 80s music more than today's music?
. eris . replied to Lewis the Brony's topic in Media Discussion
How wonderful! I love those two, easily my two favorite artists/groups on YouTube! They're exceptional at making funny videos, while also blending expert music artistry into everything. <3 @ That's what I meant. Without the ear-bleeding autotune everyone uses these days. -
music Am I the only brony that prefers to listen to 80s music more than today's music?
. eris . replied to Lewis the Brony's topic in Media Discussion
Er, no, the songs always rather have been about sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll. However, somehow in the '80s, they managed to make an enjoyable song with good lyrics, a decent tempo, and no ear-bleeding autotune, while still making it a good party song. -

#hesitant Do I detect a fellow ThePianoGuys and Lindsey Stirling fan? I'm not entirely sure. If you haven't heard of them, go check them out on YouTube! -
My cat is drooling on my knee. It's most unpleasant, but she's purring, so who am I to judge?

I have Queen playing in the background right now. I think I may love you. I thought I was the only person who still listened to '80s music! <3 -

Favorite MLP Shipping and Why?
. eris . replied to LyraHeartstrings's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I've already shown my appreciation and adoration for a few other couples, but I'll list them again in case any other random person perusing these boards hasn't stumbled upon my posts already. Big Mac/Fluttershy Fancy Pants/Rarity Discord/Pinkie Pie And while I do understand the idea of Fluttershy/Rainbow Dash, I've never really liked it. I don't know, just a personal preference.- 2,347 replies

MLP Head-Canons: What are the "rules" for your fanon universe?
. eris . replied to Glitch's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
We all expand a little on canon: some of us verbally, others in fanfiction, and still others in fanart. Sometimes it's a ship that's been hinted at, or other times it's a scene that should have been expanded upon but wasn't. Whatever the instance or example, we all have some form of headcanon. Leave logic at the door, because this is the thread in which to share your own personal canon! Mine are as follows: Rarity x Fancy Pants: Let's forget about Blueblood. [i already have.] I've always liked these two together, even over Fleur de Lis. Despite being enjoyable, I believe Fancy Pants and Rarity have a little something going on, and he visits Ponyville occasionally to drop by Carousel Boutique. Rainbow Dash's Family Raised Fluttershy: We haven't seen much of Fluttershy or Dash's backstory, except that they were close growing up. I have no adequately explained reason for this piece of headcanon, except that it makes for an extremely good fanfiction idea. Applejack Is An Orphan: This is quite obvious. We haven't seen AJ's parents, nor have they even been mentioned. It's my belief that they are in fact, thoroughly dead. Fleur de Lis is Blueblood's Sister: No explainable reason for this either, except that they're the epitome of gorgeousness for both sexes, which sort of puts them together. They're also roughly the same age, I think. #shrug Octavia Is OCD: I love her, she's my favorite pony, but for some reason I see her as extremely OCD, and disliking physical contact. I don't know, something about her droll expression makes me think "obsessive compulsive disorder". I also think it would make her character quite a bit more interesting. DisPie: Why do I even have to explain this? So what about the rest of you? What's your headcanon, odd though it may be? As you can see, I'm no poster child for sane ideas. -
I must say, this is the first time I've been called classy. Pretentious is usually what I'm called. #shrug

Owl's Well That Ends Well: While there was a lesson here, and it was a situation many, many young children will experience, I just didn't like it. I don't like seeing Spike get hurt, he's a darling, and also consistently beaten up by Twilight. [Which I find irritating.] The Last Roundup: I did like seeing Derpy talk, that was the best part of the episode. But I didn't like seeing Applejack's pride surface again, and I didn't like how quickly everything was resolved. AJ wasn't so much concerned about how her friends felt about her not winning - I like to think she's secure enough in her mindset to know they'll always be there for her - but she had the entire town depending on her to get money to fix Town Hall. Perhaps it's just me, but I disliked it. Mysterious Mare Do-Well: This was just...very OOC. I'll be the first to admit that Rainbow Dash is very egotistical, but I thought the whole fanclub thing was overplayed, and the methods the Mane Six used to poke a hole in her pride could have seriously backfired. Rainbow Dash could have taken extreme offense to this, and I think it would have been better if they simply sat her down and talked to her. While Rainbow Dash is arrogant, she's not stupid, and usually listens to her friends.

What pony did you think you would like at first?
. eris . replied to Blue Moon's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I initially thought my favorite of the Mane Six would be Twilight Sparkle, seeing as we're quite similar in worldviews and study habits. But over time, Pinkie Pie's annoying squeal faded away to some really clever jokes, and Rarity's extraordinary prissiness was replaced with some fantastic overdramatic moments. I can't pick a 'favorite' out of the group, but the two I liked least at first have now become the two I enjoy watching the most. -
Thank you for taking the time to welcome me to this little square of fandom. I do hope I fit in here, my internet habits aren't exactly the most conventional.

IMNSHO, that's a very biased selection of videos you selected. A ten year old ranting about how he hates bronies and a PBS segment? Of course, the professionally recorded, edited, and scripted video is going to be superior, whereas a child copycatting someone he admires is going to be the weaker video. That being said, I do think that bronies are generally more intelligent when it comes to debating their show preferences. It isn't so much a brilliance factor, it's the simple fact that most of us bronies have simply ceased to care. We've been persecuted, harangued, sneered at, and held up for public ridicule ever since the show began, and by and large we've largely stopped bothering with them. It's a television preference: what do we like to do with our time? We like to watch an excellently animated, well-timed, fairly well thought-out and perfectly scripted show. It just so happens it's a children's show involving an alternate universe where all humans are ponies. They choose to spend their time leaving profane YouTube comments for no other reason than ennui.

That's quite an interesting school of thought. I've always thought that selfishness was the polar opposite of love. Two people cannot be in love if they are selfish, for love for another requires some element of selflessness. And I believe it's possible to hate everything, even yourself and your thoughts. While I've never been afflicted with such a depressing notion, I think it is possible to despise everything you see and experience.

A cheerful felicitations and salutations to one and all: I am Earl Grey, a female carbon-based, nitrogen-addicted life form currently inhabiting this gritty crust of a planet which we have titled Earth. More specifically, I am a girl residing with her parents in North America, experiencing the various surrealistic ideas which belong to any pseudo-intellectual teenager with too much time on her hands. Less importantly, I am also a budding fan of the hit television show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. This is rather a redundant statement, seeing as if I despised the show I wouldn't be here, but seeing as every other post in the Welcome boards proclaimed this, I thought it might be more socially acceptable if I followed suit. At any rate, while I haven't watched every single episode a dozen times like most "bronies", I merely watch the show as a stress reliever, since after a day of struggling through school, MLP provides a welcome distraction Do you need more details? I've used 913 characters and you know only a few scant details about me. I think I should keep it this way; I'm rather paranoid about my internet usage. I suppose I must continue posting my way out of the Blank Flank stage, so you may see me flitting sporadically around the forum boards. Au revoir, -Earl Grey-
