Need Voice Actors for an upcoming song
akalink replied to Tiny Hooves's topic in Trixie's Tricks (Other Resources)
I can help. But do you have lines? Also did you consider the song's playing range when coming up with the music. You don't want the voice and the instruments to merge.- 20 replies

mega thread Unpopular Music Related Opinions
akalink replied to Le Kvlt Dawn's topic in Media Discussion
I think FL studio is overrated. In brony circles it praised as the DAW the gods bestowed upon mankind. Nobody uses it in the music industry, its made for consumers. -
gaming What are your top disappointing games.
akalink replied to Walter White's topic in Media Discussion
One game in particular was a really great game, but I expected a certain aspect to be better. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Now don't get me wrong I love this game, but I was blown out of the water by the amount of exploration in Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, and to a lesser extent Majora's Mask. To explore in those games required really going out of the way and finding new places and the wholes in the ground. I remember in wind waker just because you found an new island didn't mean you found a cave, in fact you might have found two caves there. There were plenty of things to go and find like charts, treasure, decorations. Ocarina of Time and Majora's mask made trying to find all the little secrets really rewarding. Then Twilight Princess came around and put these secrets in every single corner for the maps in plain sight to find. Maybe I was expecting something more. Skyward Sword had almost no exploration in it. By the time that game came out I knew I wan't going to be exploring random caves full of treasure. -
Will you be getting a Xbox one or a PS 4 for next gen
akalink replied to Walter White's topic in Media Discussion
Yesterday I was at a Networking party with a bunch of game industry people. Some guys from Nicalis brought their PS4 dev kit and their game 1001 spikes. Anyway on to my point. The PS3 controller is one of my least favorite controllers, but the PS4 controller is tweaked enough that it is very solid. I'd even go as far to say it the best controller since the gamecube. Anyway in terms of xboxone vs PS4 I'm switching. Also 1001 spikes is flipping rad get it to play with your friends. -
Cold and Flu in the summer?....BUCK THIS !
akalink replied to FoxRarity's topic in General Discussion
When you are awake and part of your normal day make sure to drink green tea, it may have caffeine, but it also helps to flush impurities out of your system. Also eat chicken soup, soup is easy to digest so its good if you are sick. Be sure to inhale the chicken soup vapors through your nose, it stimulates your sinuses and help your system work better. Gatorade would be good if it wasn't so sugary. Eat a banana and something with a little bit of salt to get your sodium and potassium which means drinking water with it. Avoid simple sugars and spicy foods. And make sure to get plenty of rest. -
gaming Classic/retro gamer, modern gamer, or both?
akalink replied to SUPERFOX5's topic in Media Discussion
I never really got into retro games until I got myself some NES games on the Wii like Ninja Gaiden, Super Mario World, Super Metroid, and Kid Icarus. Even though my first console was a Sega Genesis (Mega drive for non North America People), I still felt like I missed out on the majority what are considered retro games. Though I'm afraid the definition of classic/retro is very biased these days.- 52 replies

Who is the most over powered fictional character youve ever seen?
akalink replied to RAGESTAR's topic in Media Discussion
Gentlemen I present to you Karz, a man not even molten Lava and vacuum of space could kill. He was defeated by the Heroic Joseph Joestar by being tricked to cause a volcanic eruption in Italy. The eruption skyrocket the villain far beyond the reach of earth's gravity making him unable to come back to the planet, but not before killing one of the best fighters on the planet and cutting off Joseph's arm. He has the ability to take a part of his body and have it change into any living (and nonliving) animal he chooses. He first display of power was taking off his hand, turning it into a squirrel and having the squirrel kill several highly trained Nazi soldiers. He's also thousands of years old and is probably the greatest genius the world has ever seen. -

Good thing your posting about it in this thread. Otherwise people would be quoting you like monty python. But you did ask why people like it. -

Combat doesn't feel bland (you get the alien monster fighting of Metroid Prime and a diverse amount of human enemies to kill) and the skill tree system allows you customize you character to fit your play style. Loot based weapons make you want to play more to get better weapons and its really satisfying when you do. I would argue against how linear it is, its may not be as linear as fallout or skyrim, but you do get to free roam and do a bunch of side missions if you want. Also the game has a bit of humor (not as much as the second one though). The first borderlands didn't really build its lore and humor until the first games DLC. Its a game that is meant to be experience in a myriad of ways. It is more fun with multiplayer, but it can be enjoyed by oneself as I did, but its amazing when you plan 4 player lan since you can communicate much better that way. But second game is much better than the first. Oh and if you get killed by insta-death turrets, that is because you walked off the map by accident. -

I think Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is a terrible reboot (the game doesn't feel like the old sonic games). Rockstar games (IE GTA, Red Dead Redemption, Bully, etc.) are far too tasteless. Waypoint trails are the worst thing since Superman 64 (like in fable 3). I like my retro games to have good looking textures (a la Zelda 4 swords adventures and Demon's Crown). I think Wayforward is the best studio to produce licensed content, so buy movie/tv show games if they are made by them. -
movies/tv Anything else out there have an as large creative community?
akalink replied to Tired Brony's topic in Media Discussion
touhou community has so much stuff coming though. If you go onto safebooru, which only has sfw stuff (most of the time), you can just search touhou and reload every few minutes for new images. That is only the safe stuff, I hear the touhou community outputs a truckload of nsfw material. They also aren't the only fandom to have their own conventions, music stars, and fan episodes. Now consider this, this all got started because one guy started sell his own video games at conventions. -

Right now the Brinstar music from the Original Metroid for the NES. Got to give them props for the cool counterpoint in that song. -
gaming Videogames you TRIED to like, but really didn't?
akalink replied to Xievie's topic in Media Discussion
I'm not too into the sports games. So much so I totally forget they exist. I remember I was playing something and my friend saw and asked me "You got Fifa on that". I turned to him and said "No, get out". His bunnies later died for a completely unrelated reason. -
I always had a theory that the Apple Parents lived their lives overseas in a third world country. All or most of the Apple Kids were born there and went back to live in Ponyville because it was dangerous. My guess is only AppleBloom was born overseas. I think they eventually died trying to help others.

Guitar Hero post 3, Team Fortress 2, CoD's campain. I'm pretty good at buying games I like and I guess I'm pretty broad in my like of games. I really liked the Survival mode in Modern Warefare 3, but it seemed like nobody else does because I could never find anyone in Matchmaking in the first few months of the games release. I don't own the game anymore. -
Biggest reason I would get a PS4 is for this game that is currently on the PS3 store. Journey, I hope I can play it on PS4, its the first game to ever be nominated for best score at the grammys. I really want to hear the game's music with the original context it was mean to be presented in.

So when Kanye West Sold White T-Shirts. At least John Cage having a 3 movement work of silence actually had some resonance with the audience.

Xbox 360 did terribly in non-American markets anyway. If Microsoft losses its grip on the American market than it could very well be the next Gamecube.

LOL I'm probably not getting an xbox one. I'm probably going to get my wii fixed first (motors in the disc drive are broken). Then a Wii U, and when that happens I will find out what my friends bought. At the end of the day me and my friends might be playing on PC. I'm going to try to post a video of me unboxing my mini flipping table when I get it.

I'll tell you what, your right (omaigoshwereagreeingwithsomethinginthisthread). Churches in general have been doing a poor job educating their congregation on the content of the scriptures. I grew up in a Christian Family, but don't think I spent that entire time as a faithful believer, it was a process.

That was written in the Mosaic Law as things not to do, and you can be forgiven for doing that stuff if your actually sorry for. But when your life F*** you God I'm going to collect wood on the Sabbath, that's when judgement starts happening. Thankfully the New Covenant abolish the need to follow most of the Law. I'm going to try to edit this in because I know I'm going to get quote by Xanatos. There is also time where God doesn't give us a reason (like in Job). There is one, but God is not obligated to tell us what it is. Now the question is is that going to be a debate thread, or should we try to keep this a statement thread.

I sorry you have gone through abuse. But I think its is even more wrong to allow a mindset of relative truth. The funny thing about things that are true, is that they are true independent of what everyone believes. So if what I believe to be the outset of the afterlife is incorrect, then my view of the afterlife has no power over what the afterlife is actually like. Now I want to clarify because I think you might misunderstand part of my view. The church, the clergy, all members of the Christian religion are not the ones who determine who goes to heaven or hell, its God. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with church. Christianity isn't about damning people to hell, we already did that ourselves, its about getting closer to a God who want to get closer to his creation, and give them exemption from punishment. If you look at the stories of the Bible, you see a constant forgiveness that God gives to his chosen people, and any punishment they face is deserved. Sorry to give you such a long winded post, I hope that this can help you come to terms with your past experience better and help you heal from them.

A friend of mine had one. Its a great system. I heard this hobbyist game developer created a game for the Dreamcast that came out this year. I hear he might be doing some gamecube games too.
