Welcome to the list, buddy! The same situation is in Belgium, where I live. I only know of two stores that sell pony merch, and they're the toyboxes (figurines). I'd do anything for a plushie, i'm considering just ordering one from Ebay, that's my best bet.

Man, it saddens me to admit that it's the toughest thing in the world to acquire some MLP merch for me in Belgium. We don't have a lot of places that actually sells pony merch, because it's really not known in here. I'm sad that i didn't buy that RD plushie on the boat to England from a school trip, i didn't have the guts, my friends were watching me. I'm attempting to reach Galacon in 2014, and once there, i'm going to throw my wallet at every vendor that has a booth over there...

I simply watched the whole movie on Youtube, simply because leaks. Anyway, I actually found it a pretty good movie, i'll sum up some basic pros/cons. THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS,READ AT YOUR OWN RISK! Pros - Sunset Shimmer was a nicely made villian, with a logical reason to be evil. - Alternative universes have always interested me, so the whole "other world" thing was cool for me - As always, nicely animated and voiced, and i liked trying to recognise all the different ponies Cons -It was awkward how Sunset Shimmer turned into a friggin' demon, i really found it strange. - Didn't like the fact how there was no Twilight Sparkle in that other world, if everyone is there, where'd the originial Twilight of that world go? It didn't make a lot of sense. - A lot of background ponies hardly made an appearance or had a little time left away for them in the movie, it was only focused on the Mane 6, i recount Derpy, Trixie and Dj Vinyl, that was it. Or i missed out on some.

I'd love a spin-off completely about Trixie, but even I see that's never going to happen, so i'm not going there. Grab a seat, because this is going to be some reading... Now, I already like the fact she's a unicorn, add the nice color scheme, the boastful character, and the evil laugh, and you've got my favorite pony right there. I often feel she's looked down upon in the wrong way after the events of the Alicorn Amulet. Clearly, Trixie was sad she was not appreciated at all, so she resorted to the amulet to aid her. However, it was told that the amulet does indeed, corrupt, it's wearer. She wasn't evil, she was lonely and felt like nobody even paid attention to her. The wizard's hat and cloak are a super-cute factor enhancer, nobody can deny this. Everypony loves a silly hat. She was a pretty strong villian too, although i admit the amulet did increase her magical abilities. Twilight had to somewhat "cheat" to be able to beat her, showing that Trixie could possibly be nearly, or maybe even as powerful as her. Also, she's a very honest character, she even manages to trick you that she didn't do it, and with that cute face, you'd believe it easily. And BAM, i'll give your eyes a rest, for now...

Luna is often drawn in a very cute way in fanart. That's probably a big reason for all the love out there, also the fact she was banished to the moon gives it that "saddening" touch. Gamer Luna also made her pretty populair, same as Woona. Personally the "Royal Canterlot Voice" did it for me, nothing better than yelling in Ye Olde English.
