@Sparklefan1234 I enjoy playing around with the less or greater than signs.

@Dark Qiviut I see. /

Four words: RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!
-
There's still more to come, but so far, Everfree's the best of the four films. It's rather average with it being very empty and slow the first 20 minutes, but there are some good qualities there, and it's starting to pick up.

The story of the first Equestria Girls kept me entertained due to:
- This being a new situation for Twilight Sparkle.
- I was curious about what would happen after the events of Magical Mystery Cure.
So, I was able to look passed the songs. I love "The Cafeteria Song" though.
-
While those are good points, they really weren't enough to salvage the first movie for me. That said, my favorite is Friendship Games due to Sunset Shimmer's arc coming to a satisfying close, the introduction of Sci-Twi and her transformation to Midnight Sparkle, as well as Cinch being a decently effective villain.
Will admit though; Cafeteria Song is a catchy one.
-
Friendship Games is my 3rd favorite after going in chronological order.
I like Friendship Games due to:
- Sci-Twi's introduction.
- I like the story.
- I think the songs are great.
- Principal Cinch is "awful".

@cuteycindyhoney That’s why we’re BFFFF’s, BFFFF.
-
-
@cuteycindyhoney You're Welcome!
-
I haven’t watched Lilo & Stitch, but I sure damn know that it’s tone-deaf and absurd to suggest that a six-year-old child who recently lost both her parents and doesn’t know how to cope with it is abusive.
-
And now Mare Do Well!
…meh. Dialogue inside the CMC Clubhouse is forced (and it's not explained how the fanclub began, though I'm really nitpicking here), but nothing too bad here.

I dunno. Scootaloo got pretty pumped in "Parental Glidance" being in Rainbow's childhood home.
-
@Sparklefan1234 That's true XD Scootaloo... don't go to the dark side!
-
Don't become a "Brony", Scootaloo!

I don't understand when any brony or ex-brony believes FIM is undergoing seasonal rot since whatever season.
- Even in their worst seasons, FIM still churns out many good episodes, sometimes great. At worst, S3 and 6 are mediocre.
- After a suspected jump-the-shark episode, FIM always bounces back. Back in S5, I said Princess Spike (and the ending) might've been FIM's jump-the-shark moment. Instead, we got Amending Fences two weeks later, and S5 went on its way into becoming the show's best. The following season, DHX wrote the best Spike episodes of the show and gave him the consistent characterization he sorely needed. S7 had so few bad episodes that you can count them with one hand.

I agree with your opinion on Season 6 & like @Dark Qiviut said
Season 7 made me feel more confident about Friendship is Magic's future after I had initally
been pretty worried myself.
-
Well, S6 had a promising start with the Crystaling - some nice world building, some new characters, and much amusement at Shiny. Luna's song as the Spirit of Hearthswarming Future is awesome, and there are some other really good moments in the season (hold on; if twi does her pinkie pie voice for Present, does that mean she was doing a Luna voice for Future? )
. So I wouldn't say its highs weren't high enough, but some of the lows were pretty bad. I think it may look worse when you consider S7 may have been one of the strongest seasons to date, so the contrast is high.
-
I'm not even Native American, and the term "Washington Redskins" is completely offensive. "Redskin" is a gigantic racial slur, and anyone who thinks otherwise is lying to themselves.
-
…After reading another rude, volatile, vulgar, swear-heavy, unprofessional moderation post in the SSMB (not to me, BTW), I'm quite glad I left that place two months ago.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XjAucBQa9rs <--- McDonald's French fries vs. organic French fries. The fact that McD's fries haven't broken down after one year scares the crap outta me.
-
I still wonder how the hell Rainbow Falls is still able to air with it being such a huge mess. Hell, it didn't even get its OWN continuity straight (first four teams to cross, but the qualifying races are timed, and FIVE qualify)
-
After what happened with Tree Hugger, I'm interested in bumping up my analysis idea of dissecting Wheat Grass and Flax Seed.
-
Just because FIM's a family-friendly animation show doesn't mean it's exempt from analysis, reviews, criticism, or any other kind of feedback. FIM is not entitled to have useful feedback ignored just because "it's a cartoon."
-
'Cause The Magic Inside's nominated for a Daytime Emmy, I'm playing it. Damn, what a great song! <3

Daisy is one of Disney’s classic characters, but her relationship with Donald was often toxic. They were together just, well, “because.” With Mickey and Minnie as the sweet couple, Daisy and Donald complemented with their tempers and sometimes acting like they can’t stand each other. DuckTales was a completely fresh take for Daisy and the ship, and Louie’s Eleven really makes this couple feel healthy.
-
Newest DuckTales episode, Phantom and the Sorcess, was good, albeit crammed. Lena and Webby continue to show how their friendship remains one of the show’s central cores.
-
Let's make this plain and clear. Friendship Is Magic's TV series is over. Season 9 is complete. WildBrain/DHX is on to other projects. You don't like S9's direction? Fine. But S9 happened and will not be redone. A vain campaign of "rewriting S9" or "saving G4" will NEVER change that. Don't like it? Tough.

"FIM is a show for little girls." For fuck's sake, FIM is for EVERYONE and is written for EVERYONE! It's not exclusively "for little girls" like G3, G3.5, or Tales. Get it RIGHT.

From last night:
QuoteFollowing a traumatic encounter with an Ursa Major that resulted in loss of her horn and a permanent magical disability, no one came to help her, making her cope alone. At the time, she still didn't come to terms with her cracked horn. Despite being the Storm King's second in command and one of the most powerful and skilled fighters in all the land, all that power reminds her of the internal scars that still lingered. So why does she want her horn back so badly? To feel normal again. Despite going after it completely the wrong way, she has a relatable goal.
There's more I wanna talk about with this scene, but that'll be for tomorrow. Stay tuned.
Well, tomorrow's here!
SpoilerDay #28: Favorite Movie scene.
Even though the movie ignored virtually all of Twilight's magical abilities aside from grabbing stuff, the scene aboard Tempest's airship has that very raw feeling that makes Tempest's conflict personal. Why did Tempest join the Storm King? Because he promised her he can regenerate her horn as long as he captures Equestria and the magic of all four alicorns. She put her faith in a tyrant so she can feel normal again.
Earlier, Tempest's mutilated horn was discussed by others. It wasn't normal. And she was occasionally made fun of for it, even by folks she works for. Aboard the ship, Twilight was the first pony since her exile from Equestria to treat her like an equal and sympathize with her for what happened.
Additionally, both characters were at equal level. Twilight just lost everything. Her kingdom. Her friends. Her trust with everyone. And herself. As Princess of Friendship, she failed her duty. Being captured by Tempest was her rock-bottom moment, yet she shared that vulnerability with a unicorn who rejected the Magic of Friendship. This solemn moment helped commence Tempest's reformation and accelerate the grieving process that helped her come to terms with her disability.

That part must've been cut dialogue. That's the real reason why
- Pinkie Pie: [sniffles] I just can't talk to you right now.
- Sprinkles are serious business.

There's a synonym for "enjoying FIM for what it is." It's called "embracing mediocrity" or "feeling apathetic about FIM's quality." So, no, not happening from me.

I can somewhat agree with what you're saying, but at the end of the day, who's really to say which of the show's flaws are particularly *worth* dwelling on, and which should be forgiven? Because really, what this fandom considers "good" or "bad" has rarely been a constant, from what I've seen. I've witnessed people regard a good episode with the utmost bile, and I've witnessed others treat what I consider to be a pretty "meh" episode with extrem...

Recently saw the dumbest MLP petition of all time: a petition to literally redo S9 from the ground up. The "Save Tree/Library" petition from S4 was nuts, but it was a troll petition. This feels like a genuine effort to mandate Hasbro to fix a season for a series that's not only finished, but a season that doesn't need much fixing in the first place.

Rewatching Amending Fences! *sigh* God, what an amazing episode! <3

Replace Lyra with Trixie and Bon Bon with Starlight Glimmer, and you have my dream episode
that sadly never happened.

"All Lives Matter" is the equivalent to Straight Pride and White Power: a blatant whitewasher of the struggles minorities face.

That's quite funny, perhaps I should stop guessing other people's motives and making me look quite the ignorant. I'd love to agree with you, and I mostly do. But I do feel that the very idea of struggling as a group leads to the unhumanizing of others. Neo-nazis think that the white race are struggling against a zionism threatening to wipe up their beautiful caucasian race. Men's right movement believes ( hilariously ) that we are struggling in a society where men are oppressed.

Just like I wrote my column behind why 9/11 shouldn't be forgotten, I'm considering writing another detailing why same sex marriage should be legalized.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. The fanbase doesn't determine the quality of the product. If you lose interest to FIM or any product because of the fandom, then you were never interested to begin with. Scapegoating a fandom is very stupid and low, no matter the excuse.
