  1. Actually I think most of them were sold. I picked up my Luna right before the auction on Sunday. I know Trixie was sold. I think Celestia was display only for orders because she was signed. Her husband did quote me a price for her but the artist, Marie didn't want to sell that one. I'm sure she had some left but I think the mane ones were spoken for. If you are going to another con I think she has a few she is going to. I just know that when I do get to another con if she has a table there, hers is the first I will find. My crazy plan is to have Luna, Celestia and Princess Twilight together. I haven't a clue where to put them all (they are rather large) but what a gorgeous trio they will be.
  2. @Simon any time you feel a need to give Fluttershy a new home........
  3. Hello Officer. I am an old lady, not a kid and I've only been on this forum for a couple of months. I would be very curious if the class you are talking to is a class of students or police officers- you didn't exactly say. Unfortunately many of the young people that I have spoken to or read posts about on this forum are afraid to be who they are and like what they do (such as MLP). Some have the issues at school, some at home and some both places. Some of them get bullied at home by siblings. Sometimes the parent is so freaked out their son likes what they consider a girlie show that it causes them all sorts of grief. So when you don't have anywhere to go to be safe except for a forum a feeling of helplessness ensues. Again, I'm not sure who you are talking to but the people who need to be reached are the parents and the teachers. Bullying cannot be allowed in schools under any circumstances. The way to teach kids not to hate is to teach them how to love. The parents would probably be harder to reach but at least if school can be safe and fun for all you might find there are fewer suicides and fewer kids going berserk and killing other kids. It's just my two cents but if you felt you had no one to turn to and no place to go........it's almost like a prison that you can't break out of, isn't it? Except there is one way out and unfortunately too many choose it because they can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. They don't believe things will get better. You and I know things will get better but tell that to a teenager who is afraid to walk down the hall at school and gets no reassurance or comfort at home. Please don't get me wrong- I think it's great that you are doing this no matter who it is that you are addressing. I just hope that you can get to the ones that need to listen.
  4. I'm not sure where you are located or what your finances are for continuing education. I do believe you can be great without a school but I also believe that going to one that specializes in art can bring things out of you that you didn't know were there. If you are in the USA, google the Ryman Art Foundation. Students are chosen to study art with them (Herb Ryman did the original drawings of Disneyland as well as countless other paintings and designs) and this might be a direction to go in. All I know is when I clicked on the spoiler I just went "wow". And I mean it. That first pony especially is amazing. I like the 2nd one a lot too but something about that first one..... Anyhow, don't give up!!!!
  5. So you are saying it has been picked up already? That's awesome news! Thank you!
  6. I attended a panel presentation / discussion involving Ashleigh Ball and the director of this new documentary at Babscon in San Francisco. In fact this documentary is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival I think this week and the tickets to the viewing sold out in one day. I have only seen the one other documentary that has been referred to here so I don't know about the "too many" comment. I think the first one was a nice piece and certainly an introduction of sorts. This is supposed to give a different perspective and I see a place and a need for both. Until people stop being surprised that Bronies exist, and many still don't know, this can only serve a great purpose. It educates the people who have the same reaction as Ashleigh says she did until she met Bronies and understood what the fandom was all about. I think that's a powerful testimony. I hope the film is a success- partly because the folks involved are super great and partly because the message is powerful. I hope it gets picked up by a distributor via this film festival.
  7. Vinyl Scratch is famous for being into her music. I can't imagine her talking unless it's just a remark like "way cool" or whatever you say in your generation (sorry-I'm old!!!).
  8. Unfortunately I have to agree. I think that someone hated Bronies and should not have been at the con and took a situation and completely blew it out of proportion. By the way, I really like your footnote. Written later this afternoon: I've been doing a bit more thinking about the entire situation of the 11 year old and the rep at Sac Anime. Not only is the poster of the details clearly a Brony hater but let's think for a minute about one of the things she said about the girl. She said that the girl said that the stalker tried to pull her into his hotel room. Now think about that for a moment. A child or adult, if something like that really happened would be screaming for the closest police, security or in this case her mom. Yet she only chooses to hide under a table for a while? Then she goes back into the hotel where he could do it again? Also think about the layout of the hotel. There were no hotel rooms on any floor with Con activity. The only way she would be on his floor in order to be pulled into his room would be if they were staying on the same floor. If they were staying on the same floor, did she ask anyone to escort her back to her room? Apparently not. And why is it that the rep at the SacAnime table didn't tell the guy who ran the table about it? You would think she would at least tell him what had happened. Why didn't the head of the Sacanime con know? He was not told. The more I think about this the more I tend to agree with @Simon that maybe she was just hiding from her parents and made up the story and had to point to someone to make the story valid, or she just didn't like someone who was being friendly and she was hiding from him. But the Brony hater took the story and ran with it big time and her irresponsibility has done a lot of damage to a lot of people.
  9. It looks like a Nightmare Before Christmas pony. Very well done. Maybe you can hook up with folks who do fan animation and see if you get something rolling.
  10. I suppose it is possible that the Hyatt has meeting rooms on other floors as well that could serve for panel discussions and the like. If Babscon becomes as well attended as I think they will, they are going to have to find a bigger venue with multiple hotels surrounding- much like BronyCon. But I guess for next year they can stay at the Hyatt. I just can't imagine registration lines if the attendence doubles. There is not enough space where registration was held this year to hold twice as many people. I hope they at least have packets prepared for all pre-registered guests with a package of any sort. That would save a lot of time.
  11. That would be awesome. I wonder if they still want to have it at the Hyatt. I think they are going to outgrow the space that they have for the panels and the vendors. I don't think the Hyatt is going to be big enough.
  12. I don't mean to open up a can of worms here but are you saying your help was from Sac Anime staff or Horse News? I find it odd that there are only 2 witnesses to what seems to be a fabricated story about the 11 year old girl and here you are saying it is 2 people who helped you with a problem. I do wish you had notified security but may I ask what day this happened? I am getting an odd feeling that someone took your story and embellished big time to cause the big horrible story that Horse News published. You just might be the 11 year old girl (who is probably not 11) that the Horse News story is talking about.
  13. They had a t shirt with Golden Gate at the con. It was a part of some of the packages but they were also selling them at the con store. Sorry you missed them. You will just have to go next year and get one! :-)
  14. I think the higher packages are going to sell out really fast next year now that it is no longer a first year con. I plan on being on top of registration as soon as the packages are for sale.
  15. I really love Luna because it shows she has a dark side just like we all do. It shows that she hurts and it makes her do things that she really didn't mean to do. She has depth that is really very touching. And as mentioned before, she is quite beautiful. I guess I must love her because I brought her home from Babscon.
  16. That's a very good point. Even Obsidian Winter says it in her statement- that if it was true that even if the guy wasn't a con goer that letting him continue is horrifying. I'm still pretty convinced this was one big lie. It's also a little amazing that Sac Anime would bring a volunteer to a brony convention who hates bronies. But they did. First time cons historically have issues so hopefully things will be different next year. I'm sorry but the part you wrote about the lasers going into people's eyes made me laugh. It's not funny but probably as you tell this story in years to come you will laugh too. I'll have to check back for a report next year if you go. Then if they have straightened out the problems maybe I will make an epic trip to visit Australia (which I have never done) to include the con as well. Thanks for the info.
  17. OK well now I have to be jealous -I mean curious- and ask how was the Con in Australia? It would be very exciting to go there. That is a good question. I have always thought a body pillow was a very long pillow that you can lean against. They sell them where normal pillows are sold. They are particularly good with folks with back and hip problems I think. So it would be interesting to actually know what a "bad" body pillow would be?
  18. I wonder if they were considering those life size plushies for $500 as body pillows. I didn't see any sexual art whatsoever. And being an old lady like I am, it would have popped out at me as inappropriate. I really think someone was set up to fabricate this entire story. I'm glad I know the laws of Karma. That person clearly doesn't.
  19. Hello Kitty for me although it's very interesting that I am starting to replace my Hello Kitty items in my home with MLP items when I can find something decent. I do happen to be a female but since I am a very grown adult there are folks who think my attachment to Hello Kitty and MLP is just a little weird. I just smile. We can do that and not care what other people think when we are old. :-)
  20. My goodness there is nothing to feel bad about. I started in January! The way to get over it is to watch all the episodes and get up to speed! I purchased the 1st 3 seasons on Amazon so I could see them on my big TV but you can get all the episodes on You Tube as well. No pony here minds if you were there from the start or just joining. Heck, a fandom can't grow if no one is new!
  21. Every pony should read what Obsidian Winter said here, thank you Simon for the link. Very well written and to the point. Interesting that it wasn't a table in the foyer where the tables were set up? Sounds really fishy to me. Lots of holes in the story. And let's face it, how many times in a huge convention do you coincidentally run into someone several times? Sometimes it happens. Maybe there was a Brony who was friendly but she didn't like him. Maybe she was just hiding because she didn't want to say hello to him again. Maybe there was no stalking whatsoever even if this girl did exist. And if she was truly being stalked then absolutely there should be no question that security be notified. If it really was stalking, you hide a girl under your table????? I'm really sad about the Sac Anime people. I have a ticket to their con and I am now debating on whether or not to go. Thankfully it didn't cost that much money. Between them and Final Draft I think some apologies are owed here. As for the headline on the Horse News post- shame on them. I read it for a second time and it does seem to me like they are trying to write all the information yet they lead with a title like they did. Their anti- Jew remark was a bit much to stomach as well. That puts them on the same level as National Enquirer. Do they really want to be considered tabloid trash?
  22. After reading the press release from Babscon about what Final Draft did, I would not be surprised if he set this up. I would consider this a tad suspicious that NO ONE notified security or at least that is what it seems. In addition, any 11 year old girl has to be at the Con with her mother or father. I think that under 14 years old would have to be escorted by a parent. Where were they when their daughter was being followed and why didn't they notify security? Maybe this was a friendly Brony who just creeped the girl out. Good input. Thank you.
  23. Who knows but maybe the Brony spies are really here because deep down inside they want to be a part of something as special as this fandom. Maybe one or two actually understand after spying for a while. Maybe we turn hate around more than we will ever know.
  24. You absolutely should not feel stupid! You were concerned and rightfully so. You just make sure you give your joking pony friend a little (playful) pony kick in the shin for making you worry!
  25. I for one have never been so frustrated at the limited merchandise that is offered in the MLP world. Being new I couldn't wait to go out and spend money to surround myself with good merch. Let's just say I saved a lot of money until of course I got to Babscon - those vendors separated me from the money I saved by not buying from Hasbro! A good offering should include inexpensive items and expensive to suit the pocketbooks of all who are buying. Since there is a huge adult fandom now, limited edition items, clothing more than t shirts and hoodies and higher end jewelry would be appropriate while keeping the good vinyl pieces like Funko and the t shirts and all the less expensive items. Honestly, I got the biggest kick out of stalking my local MacDonalds to get the Happy Meal toys. At least they LOOK LIKE THE PONIES unlike half of what Hasbro puts out now. That's my biggest objection. I Have the Year of the Horse Pinkie Pie. I happen to be born in the year of the Horse and I thought it would be fun to have but it looks nothing like Pinkie Pie aside from being pink! It's pathetic. All it would take is a better sculpt and they would have ponies that look like the ponies. Their toys are borderline embarrassing.
