  1. It depends on where you are on the border, but the closer in the middle you get, the less accent. I've never pronounced my words like in the video, nor has my family or people I know since most of them come from the middle of the state, or from the south eastern part. However, if you go towards the state lines, you get an intermingling of different accents from Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois and Nebraska. However, there are certain terms, that while not said with an accent, are pretty exclusively said in Iowa. This is due to our overwhelming Swedish and Norwegian immigrant population that settled the areas. My best friends mom, when I was a kid, she was from Illinois, and she said the words like the appeared in the video. It drove me and people she knew crazy. She's say it like 'Meelk' or 'Heppy Mill' instead of Happy Meal, and growing up around people that forced the idea of pronouncing words correctly, and were also educators, it would drive me crazy to hear her pronounce words the way she did. If you grew up closer to Missouri, you might pronounce Washington like 'Warshing-ton'. I had a friend from the UK tell me that my lack of accent was boring LOL
  2. I'm from Iowa. We have no accent. You want to know what Iowans sound like, just watch the news and how the broadcasters speak, that's pretty much it. Course we do have a few words we use that differ from other states, but they aren't terribly noticeable. If you get along the northern or southern border of the state, that's when you'll maybe start to find hints of a Minnesota or Missouri accent.
  3. I always thought in my mind, that cutie marks appear representative of that ponies culture and beliefs of a talent. So a cutie mark might mean the same thing among the different pony species, and cultures, but appear differently based on personal meaning in that cultural group. Perhaps if Zecora had been raised in ponyville from an early age, instead of her homeland, despite being a zebra; her cutie mark could have turned out differently based upon different cultural influences, although in the end, her talent would still be the same.
  4. I think generosity and kindness are probably the hardest. At least from what I've seen in real life. It's easy to love the lovable, but it's infinitely harder to love someone who is difficult and perhaps will not yield you any personal satisfaction in your eyes. If you can manage to be good to someone, and remain judgement free in the face of what you might think is a bad attitude, or a poor lifestyle, and treat them with respect- that's real kindness. Also, generosity can be difficult. I think alot of people aren't really generous because they want others to be happy and cared for, but rather for their own ego. Sort of like those sorts of people that talk about charity work they've done, or donations they've given. I think to be really generous, you should be humble as well, and keep your charity work secret. I can't tell you how many times someone bragged about knowing someone from the crisis center or homeless shelter they volunteered at, and it deeply embarressed the person they were talking about; but it didn't matter to the speaker, because that person bragging was so into looking good they didn't even think about how it might be affecting the other person that is recieving the help.
  5. I think I'm using the excuse of 'I don't have the right brush' as a way to put off finishing this piece of art on gimp today.

Here's the foal. I don't have time for that. Most people usually charge to make breedables. I don't if it's 1 or 2 projects I have time for.

Cool, I've got some time today to whip something up. Here's a filly.
  8. I haven't had my hair my original colour since junior high. I condition it like crazy and have gotten to the point I don't get damage. My hair is usually pink and white (hence my pony OC colours). I can't stand the idea of having a job where I couldn't have my hair brightly coloured. When my hair isn't bright, I don't feel like myself.
  9. Picture my mom took a year and a half ago on her new camera. I have a metallic blue mohawk now LOL
  10. Small clusters of holes- I'm afraid of them, but they also gross me out too. (See surinam toad) Dog vomit grosses me out. I can handle other types of vomit, no big deal, but dog vomit is a special kind of disgusting. Shedded hair, like in drains, or finding a strange woman's long hair on your shirt. *gag* And finally, pretty much anything having to do with children. They're pretty much walking petri dishes of disgusting. They've always got some sort of weird smell, or disgusting crap coming out of their nose or bile on their hands. I'm pretty hard to gross out given I pretty much grew up in the hospital, but anything having to do with lack of cleanliness makes me want to gag.
  11. For gods sake, it's the 21st century; I thought I'd be teaching an android how to love by now.

Any particular colour preference, like neon, weird designs, or pastels like the show?
  13. My point is, to believe that someone is just out to hurt you on purpose sounds very paranoid. The majority of people are not out to do something like that, but if someone did do that to you on purpose, it was good you didn't end up in a relationship with them, because obviously they are an ass.
  14. My best friend and I sorted our issues out. Then we went to Lowes and bought Pepto pink paint. Ugh terrible color!

  15. Thinking a girl will say lets be friends just so she can date guys in front of you and hurt you on purpose is pretty ridiculous. Many girls will say lets be friends because they don't want to hurt a guys feelings, or they think he might get aggressive. Last time I told a guy I didn't want to go out with him (not mentioning friendship) and I had simply said I didn't think we were a right match, he screamed at me in the middle of a book store about how I was a horrible bitch. The people at the next table were stunned and felt really bad for me. It was really embarrassing and made me feel like shit. Other girls I've known have experienced some sort of aggression (although not usually so blatant and loud as mine), but they will tell a guy lets be friends as a way to let him down gently and defuse a situation. That, or she thinks he really is a nice guy and she truly doesn't want to hurt his feelings.
  16. Arts and crafts are my profession, but they're also my hobby too. I spend alot of time drawing and knitting. I also like to write stories, but I only post my fanfiction online, my original stuff is private. I enjoy going out in nature with my dog. I use to hunt and fish, but haven't had the chance these past couple of years. I also enjoy doing makeup art as well.
  17. That's a very cute OC. Good job on it. I started on MS Paint when MLP first came out and I wanted to draw my OC, and I'm thankful every day I got a tablet and work on Gimp now. MS Paint with a mouse will kill your hands after awhile LOL Great job on your OC!
  18. Looks good so far, I think you're on the right track. He looks like an interesting character, and you seem to have thought things through. The colours work well together, and his design fits well with his backstory. He has a good amount of positive and negative traits to make him interesting, and I think you'll be able to do alot with this character.
  19. Everyone I know that has claimed they've been friendzoned has a serious feeling of entitlement when I talk to them. 'I was nice to her and did ___ and ___ for her when no one else would' Good for you, what do you want, a parade? If being in a friendship is so horrible, then you're obviously to immature to handle a relationship. Also, there is a difference between being used, and being a friend. If a girl is just keeping you around to do stuff for her, that makes her a horrible person, and you a horrible person for sticking around because you think you can get a relationship or sex out of it. My mother taught me early in life 'No one owes you a damn thing'. If you're just pretending to be nice to get in a relationship or get sex, then you're a terrible person, if you can't handle being friends with someone and you want more but they don't, either suck it up or leave them. Lots of guys treat girls like vending machines, where if they put enough nice tokens in, sex will fall out. Everyone has experienced situations, where someone wanted to remain friends and the other person wanted more. Attraction is a funny thing. I've experienced my fair share of rejection and use to believe I was friendzoned "Guys only want supermodel thin bitches"- but then I realized, that sort of thinking is asshole thinking, and comes from entitlement that I felt I was owed something.
  20. I'd say yay, but then again, I'm sick in the head and don't care if people ship Wincest. My OTP: 12th Doctor/Clara. Yeah, I'm one of those shippers (Yesss, feel the hate flow through you *evil laugh*)
  21. I would be interested to see if there are an sentient deer or elk in the show. Personally, I'd love to see some sentient caribou living in the arctic maybe. I always sort of had a head cannon that Equestria was just one country on a alien planet of many continents, and many different species live on that planet, but the ponies are the controlling life form (given Celestia and Luna raise and lower the sun). So while deer may be nothing more than regular wildlife in Equestria, there might be other continents on the planet where cervidae might be intelligent.
  22. In my mind, Discord is but one of many of a whole species of prankster type creatures of all different animal parts. I always thought it would be funny to find out that Discord is the nicest one of his species, and the rest of them are 100x more jerkish than him.
