  2. He's a lazy jerk which is an ABSOLUTELY unforgivable crime, it makes you the COMPLETE AND UTTER scum of the Earth, someone who is beyond redemption. Brainwashing ponies, torturing them by removing their cutie marks, falsely imprisoning ponies, attempt at murder, evading arrest, breaking and entering, destroying the space time continuum, committing several war crimes, and straight up taking away someone's free will are nothing compared with being a sort of lazy d-bag, that is utter fucking despicable distilled. You have a good reason and feel sorry well to bad it's the literal worst thing anyone can ever do ever, no exceptions, we'd kill you right away for your utter horrendous crimes but we can't.
  3. No I'm not really anxious, more despondent. Season 6 was a season that felt unfulfilling, and I attribute that to the biggest writers of the show forgoing the Mane 6 in favor of their new pet and I have no reason to think this will change at all. Many of the problems I have have been around for a long time but the show has not even once gone out of it's way to address them, and even if they do it now in season 7, it would feel more like they have to do it on a check box than having any real passion behind it, that they're being told to write this story instead of wanting to write it. My biggest fear is that the passion in the writing staff is gone. The fact Hasbro needs to come out and say the Mane 6 are still the focus, that the characters I love are still respected and wanted to be written by the staff is all the more disparaging in my view because it shows that they're not. So I'm not anxious but more resigned to it.
  4. Return of Harmony: 1) Discord, he's a great villain, plays on the cast and crew excellently and has power to boot but doesn't rely on them to beat the heroes, instead going for mind games. He's calculating and manipulative but also fun and zany. A great combination. 2) THE MANE 6 ARE ALL INVOLVED. This is the biggest thing for me, that the Mane 6 are all actually involved fighting this threat. Yes Twilight is the focus but for one thing Discord actually interacts with the Mane 6, the only villain besides SUNSET SHIMMER to actually do so, and I mean really interact and not just share screen space with them. And then they each have a role to play and get a chance to shine and it takes ALL of them to save the day, not just Twilight's going around doing everything then getting some random power up with the Mane 6 being batteries for it or even worse getting worfed offscreen so some other character can get to shine. So yeah Return of Harmony is my favorite two parter.
  5. Well it would get rid of one of my biggest problems with the show, having magic and the OP unicorn attached with it be the end all be all with how to be villains, where the other five just remain as Damsels or Cheerleaders depending on the story. Having a Non-magical lead would more than likely force the writers to come up with ways FRIENDSHIP can save the day and not Magic BS standing in for Love or Friendship. And it would also be more likely that the writers would then want to rotate the cast in the lead role instead of skipping any notation that a magical social inept unicorn could maybe not be the lead and then just adding their OC to the show.
  6. Rainbow Rocks made me love Sunset Shimmer, but Friendship Games cemented her as my favorite character in the franchise. First time I really notice Fluttershy was in Magic Duel (An episode I dislike but thank to more recent episodes is not that hated by me anymore) but Keep Calm and Flutter On made me see her potential and I'm glad the writers are moving more in this direction. Well I guess I don't need to post this then
  7. Part of me wants this and another doesn't. The part of me that does is because it would show the event mattered that the Mane 6 took getting captured seriously and that it would be a wake up call for them and a whole bunch of other potential stories, like one of them falling to the Dark Side ala Darth Vader in order to become stronger to protect everyone. The other part of me doesn't because I know the show won't be able to deliver and it would be at worse another excuse for Haber to write his pet above the Mane 6, treating their PTSD like a common cold that Starlight just needs to hug out of them. Another part also just wants to put the finale as far behind as we can. Haber's the story editor and the one who writes most of the episodes involving Starlight. He's as much a part of it as anyone else.
  8. No the reason I hate the finale was because it treats the Mane 6, characters I love, enjoy and sympathize with, horribly and with no respect all so Josh Haber's Pet can save the day, a character who I greatly dislike, along with Fan Pandering (Who I was neutral on before but now dislike) Bug Plot Device (Same as Fan Pandering) and Discord (Who I admittedly did like) . The Plot hole and Changeling Ex Machina are the vegetables and sides of crap in this awful meal. Nevermind this ends a season where the writers decided to give the middle finger to the Mane 6 half of the time.
  9. No shut up, don't think about that. Instead love the fact that the Royal sisters, their Alicorn niece and family as well as the Mane 6 were all captured and made utterly helpless instead, because that's "A breath of fresh air" so that a Season 1 copy of Twilight with Fan Pandering, a Dues Ex Machina and Q can save the day. But yeah honestly, don't think about it because the writers sure as shit didn't. God I hate the finale.
  10. -Why Twilight is an alicorn but not her friends or some kind of repercussions as to why only Twilight ascended. Seriously waiting nearly four years and it's just "Oh she's an alicorn and a princess, nothing else changed at all." -HAVING ANY ONE OF THE REMANE 5 STAR IN A TWO-PARTER! FFS it's been six year, none of them have had one to themselves and then they give Starlight four over any of them. Complete bullshit there. -Celestia episode. Six years, constantly keeps getting worfed, needs to stop. -Deep Past episode. Show something before the Mane 6 hit the scene, like from 1000 years ago or something in that time space. You have 1000 years to work with, SOMETHING must have happened in between then. Not that I think any of these will actually happen.
  11. The Mane 6 losing focus. The Mane 6 are completely out of the two-parters at this point. The Season 6 finale wasn't a "One off occurrence", it was the death nail. The Mane 6 have been steadily losing focus in the two-parters ever sinceThe Return of Harmony. The Cutie Map was a slightly bump back, but then the next 3 two-parters absolutely killed it. They have no relevance in the two-parters anymore, and I don't expect them to ever get it back. Maybe at best it will fall back on Twilight but even that I really doubt. At best in the two-parters they can hope for now is being cheerleaders to whatever Starlight Glimmer goes through because it's clear the writers don't want to write the Mane 6 in them. And then the slice of life stuff. The two biggest writers for season 6 Josh Haber and Mike Vogel, spent most of their time with Starlight over the Mane 6, giving the Mane 6 to the new writers who gave us such great episodes like Newbie Dash, Applejack's Day Off and 28 Pranks Later. It seems relatively clear that the staff does not want to write for the Mane 6 anymore, or at least that Josh and Mike want to write their characters over the ones that have already been established. Nevermind that the Mane 6 got the least amount of screentime in season 6. Twilight got completely screwed over with only a duo role in 2 episodes the entire season. Pinkie Pie and Rarity didn't do much better with no solo episodes to them. Rainbow Dash came out the best in terms of screentime but many of her episodes were crap and even then it doesn't match how much they gave Starlight. I fully expect the Mane 6 to have even less time in Season 7. And Hasbro going "The Mane 6 are still the focus" does NOT give me reassurances. It makes me doubt it all the more, like they have to say "No no trust us they're still there" all while they're sweating profusely trying to call up the writers. If anything it's only going to force the writers to do a season 4 thing were the Mane 6 have to appear constantly with just sitting in the background while the other characters actually do stuff and them just having a force cameo appearance does not mean they are the focus.
  12. The Cutie Re-mark. While I despise the season 6 finale more, I'm being economical with my pick. Getting rid of Remark gets rid of the season 6 finale as well as The Cyrsalling, No Second Prances, and Every Little Thing She Does, episodes that range from meh to awful IMO. And without Starlight there as well they'd actually have to do something with the Mane 6, like give Twilight an episode. And maybe, just maybe, they'd decide to put their passion behind Rainbow Dash becoming a wonderbolt and make a spectacular episode out of it. (I'm meh on the overall product but it's a crap celebration milestone episode)
  13. They were meh to me in A Canterlot Wedding. It was nice to have an army to fight but they weren't anything really special to me. After the Season 6 finale I fucking loathe them, both Chrysalis and those botched neon color splatters. I wish we'd never see any of their ugly mugs again but too late for that.
  14. Because it was the only one to understand the show. Also because Return of Harmony was originally slated to be the finale. So far it's been the best finale of the show. Fuck, it's the only one that decided to have the Mane 6 actually take part in it instead of it being the Super Magical OP Unicorn hour with the Remane 5 as cheerleaders at best and utterly worthless at worst.
  15. I would have the Remane 5 actually do something in the two-parters like in Return of Harmony instead of being sideline cheerleadering power batteries at best and utterly useless Damsels in Distress at worst as well as give each of the Remane 5 a two-parters which focus on each one of them individually
  16. Now I was being a bit hyperbolic there so forgive me for that, but the issue is a matter of the metanarritvie context, at least for me. The Remane 5 are not driving forces, they are passive players in the action, they don't impact the narrative. To quote you: My question is why has there never been a two-parter where the emphasis was on the Remane 5, where their story was the interesting part of the story plot wise? This is what has never happened, that's what I mean. The story and the narrative never star the Remane 5 and it becomes a case of Show vs Tell. Oh the show can tell me time and time again that the Mane 6 saved the day but if it only ever shows Twilight (and now Starlight) carrying the weight of the narrative then it counts for nothing. It be like taking The Empire Strikes Back, cutting out all the parts with Han and Leia, having Darth Vader give a line saying that they evaded them for a while but now have been captured in Cloud City while keeping all the parts about Luke. It changes how important the characters are. Because the action is only on the one character, they are the only one to impact the narrative and matter to the story. Lets go over the episodes for further clarification on what I mean (spoiling them to save on space): The point I'm trying to make is that the Remane 5 have little to no story role in the two-part episodes. There hasn't been any two-parter where it's focused on any one of them. The closest we've ever gotten was Keep Calm and Flutter On because that was an important event going on that didn't focus on Twilight but instead on Fluttershy and even then it was still more Slice of Life than adventure and only one episode. And now we have a completely new character taking over when the Remane 5 have never gotten the chance to shine or even work together as a group since The Return of Harmony.
  17. What fans are they cause the Mane 6 need to actually save the day for once for this to apply. I mean that hasn't happened at all, ever. It's always been Twilight and now Starlight that saves the day, the Remane 5 are pretty much useless in two-parters outside of forming the Rainbow laser. i mean the term "Remane 5" freaking exists, that tells you something. But what really irritates me is the hypocrisy surrounding this. Go back to Season 3 and 4 and you have people telling everyone "Well Twilight's the main character, of course she should get the spotlight and the focus, you shouldn't be upset the Remane 5 don't do as much" and then jump to Season 6 "Well the Mane 6 always save the day. We need to have someone else step in". This wouldn't be too bad except we've never freaking had any of the Remane 5 do anything in the two-parters. How about we have them do something, say I don't know save the day?, before we all start going off on how they're the only ones to save the day. I mean FFS EQG has the Humane 5 more active than all of the two-parters from A Canterlot Wedding to the season 6 finale combined, minus The Cutie Map, but even there it's not even the Mane 6 that save the day. Have the Mane 6 actually save the day and then we'll start talking about whether they should or shouldn't anymore. /rant
  18. Eh,it's another Season 3. It has it's high marks (Saddle Row Review, Gauntlet of Fire among others) but it feels very much like a season where they're just spinning their wheels, or coasting, like the writers are just going through the motions, there doesn't seem to be as much passion behind it like Season 5 had. It doesn't help that they also decided on trying to push Starlight at the detriment of the Mane 6. I mean a brand new character that comes in, has an entire arc to her and gets to save the day? Fuck only Twilight's ever gotten that and the Remane 5 can't because why? And the finale also leaves things on a sour note. Instead of having the Mane cast be involved or have anything to do at all, they get shoved into a corner to focus on the Creator's Pet, Seth Fan Pandering, Dues Ex Machina and Q. Sorry but even with the lack of excitement many of the season 6 episodes had, the finale would have still been rather bad.
  19. Yes, yes I would. Would rather see a two-parter star one of the Remane 5 first but I'll take the CMC over a completely new character that's only been around for at best a season taking them since the CMC have been around since Season 1.
