  1. cooking with peanut oil got me impressed, made the food quite a lot better and didn't damage the flavor in any way. Too bad it's so expensive and hard to find in my part of denmark...

mhm... I was nervous ab using it instead of regular oil to make the pasta sauce but it ended up not only with no overpower of flavor but also really nice and light compared to the sauce I made with normal oil.

  2. I was christian orthodox until 24, the dogmatic version since 12, thanks to my mom... around 23 I got sick of something no doctor could find out the cause of, so I did some soulsearching... comes out I was feeling guilty for eating meat on a wednesday because it was the only day of the week I was passing by my fave hot dog place, and my body reacted to my self-flagelation... I stopped getting sick after I managed to break that chain, and it made me realize how horrible christianity is to its folowers really, how much it counts on guilt to keep them in check, and how toxic that was... then I started researching ab the bible and the christian core beliefs and I realized they were all made just to keep people subservient and in check, which disappointed me terribly because I hoped they would be about God and reaching spiritual harmony, above wordly matters. I am now a deist, I have shaken off most of all religious practices and try to find my way to the divinity in my own way, independent of priests or saint written books. I still celebrate christmas since I like the holiday itself, tho I'm not letting it get flooded with religious symbols and traditiona any more, and I married in the orthodox church so I could let mom be happy and at peace, but I no longer go to church or keep religious holidays, nor confess, and it's brought a lot of peace in my life (as long as I don't hang out too long with my mom who keeps trying to convince me to confess everytime I visit home XD ) I keep researching on divinity and ethics, but I have a more practical approach to things than before...
  3. oddly enough I can't seem to find a reply or quote even option in the debate areas of the forums... do we need special passes for those? :o

  4. I just realized that safe spaces and blocking people for different oppinions is not only imature but also isolate people from reality... we need different oppinions to face reality just as we need to touch a cup to see if it's hot or cold. :v

A noteworthy realisation indeed, although I don't necessarily agree that we need different opinions to face reality, I believe that tolerance to different opinions gives us an upper hand in the world we live in.  That is just my opinion though~ :P

@Snow tollerance to different opinions is what makes one face different opinions in the 1st place. It's basically impossible to be tollerant towards things u don't encounter, isn't it?

Yes, there were 3 bands that I really loved and they put up a really good show, we danced and sang with them and did a hora too, and the rest were nice. One thing I regret is not buying a dragon cane I saw on sale in the 1st day. I don't need a cane but that one was so sweet I just couldn't take my mind off it, and when I finally decided to get it they had sold out XD

also, dunno if it's the music or Slayers fans tend to be more annoying than all other band fans, or both, but the Slayers concert was the least enjoyable I've been at.

Huldre, on the other hand, was the most wholesome of them all :>

also got inspired for some new paintings if I find time for them sometime :>

      yes, it was.

As far as I understood it's not gonna be very soon when I'll get the chance to see Slayers again so yeah, that's covered anyway :))

  8. fully aware I might be wrong, but if you draw a paralel there are far more similarities between bronies and furries than between bronies and any other fandom. the one difference is that furries are mostly independent from a specific show while bronies aren't. And before you start being pussyfarts and try put the brony community higher because no yiff (or however is that called) may I remind you ab 'clop'? Both communities have good, bad and questionable alike. It's a mark of a big, longlasting communty to have all kinds in its midst. most furries don't identify as their furry avatars tho, they are perfectly aware of their human condition, but enjoy using a specific design to represent them in certain situations.

  10. Depends... if they got in by accident (bees, wasps, ladybugs, other outside dwelling bugs) or are spiders (I respect spiders a lot because they eat mosquitoes) I generally find a way to kick them out... if it's possibly local vermin, such as cockroaches (haven't had any yet but I did see the ocasional miriapode), or those little flies making my fresh parsley unedible, it's death and plotting for more death. Also mosquitoes and flies.... death to mosqueetoes! As for flies, if I'm at my grandma's, I learned to catch them alive so I can feed them to chicken because they are bastards and earn their death by not letting me sleep :v
  11. that moment when a commissioner gives you full artistic freedom but you end up with more poses for their character that you like and are super-temted to bother them to choose themselves which is best ;3;

  12. there was at least one episode where he was completely separated from twilight, no? Like the D&D episode?

There are supermarkets here that sell predominately Chinese foods, I personally don't like Asian food that much.

In denmark they sell ramen in all supermarkets... i think they are sold as noodle soup? they can be found in the same aisle as other kinds of soup.

I guess I'll just make one and see what it goes with according to taste~

  16. I was banned from /r/feminism for calling a guy, who raped his gf because she was a 50 Shades fan, retarded. Apparently that was offensive to retarded people. :v I can see why since this is a dakimakura pose your pony was in, and with that title it just skyrocketed into clop zone... isn't there a place to post errotica/nsfw pony arts around this forum? I don't draw much of that so I never actually looked. XD aside from that, cute art! ^^
  17. I find tragic backstories to be lazy character creation. They give their makers the impression that they can get away with anything related to their character and make them unstable and unpredictable, which brings no real challenge to storytelling. Also, in roleplaying, it's quite unpleasant to roleplay with these characters since they tend to be overdoing everything. While not a rule, I have indeed met people able to roleplay splendidly with traumatic past OCs, most people whose OCs have tragic past tend to be a nuisance to roleplay with, jumping from one thing to another with no proper transition and logic, and having their characters act like the kind of people most about anyone would get a restraining order against, let alone actually interact with. That being said, if owner can actually use the backstory to create an interesting character with an interesting personal plotline, it can still be a great thing.
  18. Dunno, seeing the sanctuary episode, I think Fluttershy is the one pony who actually evolved after all these seasons. The rest of the mane6 seem a bit stagnant and not really acting like they've been through all those seasons still...
  19. was checking someon's ponysona and found this playlist I don't even like this kind of music much, normally :))

Well that's the rub, Bub. Forums is as forums does. You're asking the populace at large which means wildly varying view, opinions, experiences and basically realities. No doubt one guy could say that the best method for him calming down is running his head through a brick wall and you can only take his word on it.

...suppose my best advice is to just let your emotions run their course. I'm no stranger to meltdowns myself. Just remind yourself... repeatedly, if need be... that what you're feeling is natural for you. It has to be, if you're the one doing it. I can't promise that things will get better, but that doesn't mean they can't.

I was concerned from the first one that green wouldn't work very well for fur-hair (darn pity that isn't a natural hair color!) but it really worked better in later pages. Think darker green works pretty well, not on the ears though. Aren't ears part of the skin too? Not too sure about the white tip on the tail. Reminds me of ice cream, but alot of things do. That's a thing fox tails do though naturally, isn't it?  I'll have to do research why sometime. Your style seems to vary significantly from pic to pic and with it,  the nature of the character in my opinion. Like, one seemed more muscular & sporty than the others, but that likely varies on audience perception.

Cute! ... wait, not what I came here to ask!

So how's the cropping/resizing of images work? That a thing anyone can do? Would seem so if they're forcing that restriction on us... but! What I've found is that banners work quite well for cover photos too! Though from the looks of it, animated ones have bigger "file sizes" which don't work & fit in there.

@Lunar Echo I've been drawing for a very long time. I even do commissions at this point :>

@Widdershins my mascot has been one of my subjects all through it since her creation. I draw for a very long time and my style evolved, so she also got affected all through it. Her ears are green because her fox form is green. Also she is designed with the common red fox in mind so yeah, white tail tip, white muzzle and black feet. ^^ juniper-fox-happiest-instagram-9.jpg

Cropping/resizing can be done in simple programs, such as Irfan View, or in any paint simulator (Photoshop, Clip Studio Pait, Gimp, etc). The delicate tweaks such as image quality (which affects mb size as well) can be more efficiently done in more advanced programs such as Photoshop, but all painting software has a few basic ways to edit the image quality (PNG is better than JPG but bigger, 72px/inch is less quality than 300 but will take less space, etc)

  24. Depends on the content really, since i've seen plenty of stuff posted around deviantart at least under the vector art tag that I would really not see as such... and it's really simple to tell them apart: 1. is your resulting image original, a product of your own imagination? Then yes, it is art 2. is your resulting image a copy of someone else's art, may that be a screenshot in a show or a character originally drawn by someone else in the same position and style and is basically a faithful vectorial copy of it? Then no, that is NOT art. You just proved you're good at using the vectorial software to copy someone else's art... It's THAT simple *eye twitch* Tracing is NOT art. It's a study method to possibly improve your art, yes, but it is not art in itself. And people waiting to be praised for tracing and posting their tracings should just not. Tracing is a study form and not even an impressive one. Vector tracing is not even that, since it involves dragging those vector lines around until they fit over the originals, which any kindergardener can do if patient enough, and it teaches virtually nothing, except maybe helping one get more familiar with the vectorial software. Tracing a cartoon properly is not an artistic trait. It's an exercise, and you'd have been better with exercising drawing straight lines and circles until they ended up perfect, instead of tracing, at that stage, as redundant as that might sound. I know it's redundant since I've been avoiding this exercise for quite a while, but guess what? the exercise helped me more in days than tracing could've helped me in years! So please don't give tracing that much credit, PLEASE! *cries*
