I wasn't too thrilled myself, but the sequel, Aliens, was sooo much better, IMO. More action, better cast. Hmmm, being bored by English or the movie. Tough call. TL was okay, but I don't think they captured the digital look that the original did. This was a movie that actually would've benefited by being CG. The animated series is pretty good, though. Watching theater movies on TV is too painful. Too many commercials and often poorly edited. So "kind of" watching is rather an apt way to put it. As for myself, that would be Stowaway, a rather boring Netflix movie.

Has mlp improved your horizon and fantasy?
Mortar replied to leonbrony17's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Question is, have you revealed this revelation to your friends or family? It's one thing to change your own mindset in solitude, but to do so in the presence of others a lot harder. And I don't mean virtually. Something I understand. There are a number of things I like that I have yet to tell others because I doubt they'd understand, and I'm not confident enough to not care about their opinion. I can't say that it has, but only because I have a lot of years of watching sci-fi/fantasy shows, including various "kid" shows. They serve as an escape from a very mundane reality. -
That would be Ogres & Oubliettes in 'verse.

It's been some years, but for me it was PC FPS games. I've been playing those since the original Castle Wolfenstein. I prefer the single-player games as I found people on multi-player games too mean. I started losing interest after the first couple Battlefield and CoD games came out as I wasn't into the WWII themes. Also consoles games were expanding while PC games were shrinking, and I don't do consoles; I hate the controllers. But yeah, I'd be up 'til 3-4 am playing.

I don't like colas, it's Mtn. Dew, any flavor...except diet.

Well, since this world IS Earth, it would, in fact, be the Grand Canyon. I've mentioned this in another post, but I don't see the point of EG, except to bring in an audience who don't get into anthros. If these had nothing to do with MLP, then they'd be fine on their own, but branding them as MLP, doesn't make them MLP.

Do you ever buy merchandise that you didn't really need?
Mortar replied to ManaMinori's topic in Merchandise
Everybody buys stuff they don't need now and again. In fact, I have a couple friends who do that all the time, and they're supposed to be strapped for cash. Me, I don't buy MLP stuff, but I have bought a few big-ticket items that I didn't need. And I know I have bought waaay more digital assets than I need. -

If not on Ponies' flanks then where else would cutie marks be?
Mortar replied to Miss's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
It would need to be on an area that's easily seen. Like Butterfly said, the side would be good, and even though it would be covered up by their saddlebag, that's okay as their bags also have their cutie marks on them. I also thought maybe their forehead, but given how a lot of ponies manes cover that up...nope. I also like Changeling's idea of it being on the lower, outside of the front leg, but from a viewer's standpoint, it would be difficult to see while they're walking/running. -
I hate the real world. Mostly.

Sunburst didn't really interest me that much. The character just seemed sorta bland. As for Spike, he's too easily distracted, so I can't see TS assigning such a big task to him. I do believe he could one day be very good at such things. He already displays a certain amount of wisdom beyond his years.

Machines, in general are not unknown in their world, so they would probably be able to identify it as such. But its purpose would be totally unknown to them. Now, as I recall, the Flim Flam brothers drove up to Sweet Apple Acres in, what appeared to be, a steam-powered vehicle, so they might be able to deduce its function, but not able to describe how it works.

What do you think about the older generations
Mortar replied to DreamFluff878's topic in Classic Generations
Funny this topic came up. Netflix recently added a bunch of MLP vids from 2004-2010, which I suppose is the previous version before FIM. They're not bad except for Twinkle Wish Adventure, which was too childish for my taste. It was interesting to see some of the FIM crew in these vids, namely Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Spike, portrayed so differently. -
Only problem is Dailymotion only carries a few eps. YouTube is much more complete, though it twoo, is missing a few. For example, I've been trying to catch S6, E19 and 20, and can't find them anywhere. Now, Netflix does carry the entire series, but so far they've only provided the first 13 eps of S6.

Ah, looks like we have a Discord fan. She's a goth, so... While she's a nice enough pony, her limited interests, really singular interest, in all things geological, would make it hard to forge a lasting friendship with. Twilight's always been rather a stickler for protocols and procedures, which can be annoying at times (just ask Spike). She's so focused on pleasing Celestia I think she sometimes missed the point of just living. That did change, somewhat, over time, thanks to her friends. But now that she's a Princess, the old ways are coming back to the foreground. Now she feels she needs to prove herself, not just to Celestia, but to Cadance, Luna and the people of Equistria itself. She just doesn't realize she's already done that.

EQG5: Merge the pony and human world together?
Mortar replied to SunsetBaconDrive's topic in Equestria Girls
If you recall the end of FG, they showed a crack on the top of the statue base (sans statue) with something coming out of it. This was clearly a tease for either the MLP or EQ movie, so I'd say it's a pretty good shot that there's gonna be some kind of collision between the two. Should that happen? Well, it already has, several times. If the question is, should ponies stay ponies in the Human world, and vice-versa, then that answer has also already been answered in EQ1. Going through the portal automatically changes you to that world's dominant lifeform. To do otherwise, IMO, would break canon. -
general What are you doing for Thanksgiving ?
Mortar replied to OLD ACCOUNT's topic in General Discussion
Having a pot-luck with a few friends. I'm bringing my Ma's famous greenbean/potato/kielbasa casserole.
